I decided to upgrade the salad to a fattoush salad, get an additional 2oz hummus and garlic sauce (I didn't know how big/small the ones would be that came with the platter), as well as 2oz of Ali's Hot Sauce and an additional Kabab Halabi skewer. The chicken was cooked perfectly, great char but still super moist. the hot sauce was very spicy. The fresh herbs and vegetables on the side were such a great pairing. The fattoush was good, especially with the extra crispy pita chips on top. I do wish, however, that plain rice was an option, as I actually didn't need flavoured rice and would've preferred plain. My husband ordered a chicken taouk wrap with garlic, lettuce, onion, and tomato, plus batata hara and a Coke Zero. I've never had fateh before and also wanted to try it because of Hadia G.'s review. I got a single order. It had freshly cooked chickpeas with a mix of yogurt and tahini on a bead of pita chips and topped with pine nuts. This was by far my favourite and I could eat it ALL DAY. My husband and I were obsessed. OBSESSED! It was warm and delicious, creamy but not super rich, and very flavourful rather than just salty. I swear it should be illegal to eat this many pita chips, but we just couldn't stop. This is a bold statement, but I think it's one of the top vegetarian dishes I've ever had. It's on the breakfast menu but is available all day. I got knafeh for dessert, also for the first time. It was nice and cheesy, and I expected it to be sweet, but maybe just a little too sweet for me. The Long Version: My family and I were celebrating Family Day and Lunar New Year at the same time since they were only a day apart. I agreed to pick up food for the gang. We are a multicultural family and love cuisines of all cultures so I decided to get the Mega Family Meal at Crispy Bites Shawarma. Broasted chicken is pressure-fried chicken, so it's less oily than traditional fried chicken and the outside is crispier and the meat is more juicy and tender. I liked the broasted chicken, although it was a bit too salty for me. The coleslaw had a creamy base, so I wasn't a huge fan since I prefer vinegar-based coleslaw. I also got 8 drinks with my order. I was thrilled to see they had Oasis Exotic Mango juice blend, so this is what I got for all my drinks. They also had Oasis Orange juice, bottled water and a variety of soft drinks, like Pepsi, Canada Dry and Fanta. Overall, I thought the food was good and it was a hit with the family. The wait was a bit long for the food. I called in my order at 11am when they opened and they said it would be an hour. Although Lebanese food was introduced years ago with the Shwarma food chains, Al-Oumara provides customers with a Schwarma take-out counter, but with more delicious options and platters. A mini grocery store, customers can buy freshly butchered meat, freshly made pre-packed or bulk salads and spreads, desserts, and I've even become acquainted to their beverages including Bonjus that comes in a triangular juice box and Kazouza a sparkling juice drink. I'll never forget the couple of times when they gave me a free dessert on the house or when they gave me pita bread from their bakery because they were sold out on their shelves. A family owned and run business that makes you feel like you're part of the family.
