We found this place while wandering the area in Ottawa, and had a great dinner! I had the combination dinner which included stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh, spinach pies, hummus and salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The kibbeh was seasoned beautifully as were the spinach pies. Even the salad was really good. The pita was fresh and perfect as well. I had the rose water iced tea to drink which was quite good and the rose water was not overpowering. One person was serving and cooking. I am assuming this was Omar the owner. I have no idea how he was managing all of that! He also did the art around the restaurant which was beautiful. Definitely a great option in this part of Ottawa! read more

The older waiter is rude and obnoxious and since he serves poisonous food he should be arrested. I will invest money on lawyers to have them closed down. The absolute best falafel I have ever had in my entire life. Lovingly prepared by chef/owner Raouf Omar, who also happened to have painted every picture in his restaurant. Beef shawerma plate on homous (substituted the pita bread for vegetables instead) - The beef itself was tasty, had a nice char but still soft. Very trendy Mediterranean place! So many beautiful art pieces to look at, everything made by Omar (the very sweet owner and artist). Small business vibe, worth the support. Had the kafta plate with salad and hommos. Kafta was very flavorful, seasoned with herbs and spices. They have "jalab" style Rose Ice Tea (ask for ice if you want it chilled). Their arabic coffee has a spice to it which was an interesting kick. Overall a lovely spot to meet a friend for lunch or coffee on a beautiful day. read more

First of all I want to start by saying how impressed I was by the great atmosphere and character of the place with a truly authentic decor and feeling as if I was travelling to another country. We were greeted by a very nice server who asked us if we had been there before; yet we mentioned how my mom knows how to make Lebanese food and therefore we all love it; yet never been at their place per se. We decided to get several appetizers to share and two entrees. We started by trying the lentil soup which was amazing. We also tried the grape leaves and more authentic dishes we all loved. At the end we had a yummy Baklava for dessert and it was so delicious. Overall we were pleased to have tried a little bit of everything. It was definitely worth every penny we paid and rest assured that whenever I come again to Ottawa I will be visiting again. My recommendation is if you are a large group to have many appetizers or buy different dishes so you all get to try all the great things that they have to offer. read more

This is the most unique looking Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurant I've been to in Ottawa. Most of this is due to the colourful stained glass artwork covering almost every inch of the walls. Even the ceiling is colourfully painting. All of the artistry seems to embrace the same culture as the food, which helps add to the dining experience. Another of my favourite offerings of Jericho is their cheap take-out falafel ($4.50). It's around the same price as a falafel from a cheap shawarma joint, but with much better ingredients. They also have a daily special on their eggplant parmesan with salad and rice: very tasty. They have many menu items for different preferences, including vegetarians and American food lovers. They also have a cheap quality breakfast. This is one of my parents' favourite Ottawa restaurants. Also, all of their art is for sale. read more

Decent little spot, but it didn't live up to the hype posted here on yelp. For the price of each plate, I was expecting a little bit more. I could tell the food was not fresh. The fattoush salad had soggy pita chips inside which was a pretty good indication of this. Also the beef cubes were very very dry. Pita is also given with your meal, but I much prefer when restaurants serve the pita warm, which this restaurant does not. I've eaten at much better Lebanese spots in both Toronto and Montreal and this one fell very short to those. read more

Great little spot for Lebanese food! The restaurant is super unique with art all over the walls, tables, and ceilings. We went on a Monday around 5:30pm and were the only ones in the restaurant. We were greeted by our friendly waiter, who may have been the only one working that night. We had the combo platters which come with hummus and babganoush. Everything was great flavors. The hummus was maybe the smoothest hummus I've ever had. I had the chicken kabob and it tasted fresh with great spices. I'd totally come back! read more

Should have gotten the lamb. Is a small operation. Interior decor is very nice with glass paintings on walls and painted ceilings. You can get seats near the street to watch people. If you want to know what real Lebanese / Middle Eastern cooking is supposed to taste like, go here. Ottawa is full of cafeteria quality Lebanese food - decent, but generally not great, with a sort of 'institutional' quality to the offerings At Jericho, on the other hand,the meals have a fresh, home cooked taste. Taste the hummus and compare to anything else you get around here! The menu as a whole is pretty reliable and very flavourful. The decor is excellent, based on the owner's own art. The service is super-friendly and attentive - you are almost certain to be served by the owner himself. The only thing holding me back from giving a 5 star review is that this restaurant, while clearly a notable step above the cafeteria quality Lebanese food that is prevalent in Ottawa is still just a small café. This is not a find dining restaurant, and does not pretend to be. Still for what it is, it is great! read more

Great place; But for starters; I don't think this place can be categorized as middle eastern... it has a very morrocan/tunisia/egyptian touch to it. It's more Maghrebi. But nevertheless.. I ordered a Falafel plate. It tasted great. Alright presentation. I don't like how the salad was cut (small slices-tough to eat) but that's just personal preference.
