We only pulled into the gas station to use the restroom and noticed a small stand right next to it selling date shakes. Curiosity got the best of us and we're so glad it did. For around $7, the date shake was incredibly creamy, rich, and full of natural date flavor without being overly sweet. You can really taste the dates, and the texture was smooth with little pieces of dates and so satisfying, especially after a long drive. It was one of those unexpected treats that instantly puts you in a better mood. The location itself is super convenient if you're driving through the area, and it's honestly the perfect quick stop to break up the trip. What started as a simple bathroom break turned into a memorable food stop we'll definitely be looking forward to on future drives. I parked in front of Taco Bell. Their dine-in area was closed at the time. Drive-thru may have been still open. Anyway, I meant to rest for 20 minutes, but ended up sleeping for an hour LOL. I can always rely on Chevron for gas and ExtraMile for drinks & snacks and restrooms. Prices may be a bit higher than other brands, but they seem to be available when I need them most.
