I like that it has single lanes, so you can drive in and drive out easily. I don't like the double ones where if you are the rear car and you finish before the front car, you have to pull around the car to exit. I know, first world problems, but hey, if I'm comparing gas stations, this is definitely a factor. This Esso has a Circle K convenience store in it. And this location has a really good selection of slushy flavours, like at least 6-10 different flavours. It also has a Tim Hortons in it and you can buy at the counter or you can go through the drive thru. Selection is a bit less than standalone Tim Hortons, but the convenience can't be beat. There are hand sanitizer dispensers at each pumping station. Staff are generally nice. Since this location is in Orleans, prices are generally lower than in Ottawa or places further west. I really like this Esso. I also love that you get Optimum points at Esso :)

When it was my turn at the cash, he snapped at me in front of a line up of people behind me. I have been a patron at this location since their opening, but this guy will make me avoid it from now on. I spoke with my neighbours about it today and they agree, they have had similar interactions with him. He has no respect or manners. I never have any issues with anyone else when I go in.

I love deals so I gave them a try. The car wash didn't get my car as clean as the Esso or Circle K car washes which are my usual places. The back of my car was still somewhat dirty. The tricolour foam also seemed to be more watery and less thick. I also got ripped off 30 seconds of dryer time. The countdown was for 60 seconds but the dryers shut off at 30 seconds. WTF? So I only dried the front half of my car because I thought I had another 30 seconds for the back half of my car :/ At least the car wash is touchless and trackless. Staff were pleasant. Would use again if I had a coupon or some sort of deal for a $5 car wash. Otherwise, I'll stick with my usual car wash places. (60)

The reason for my review though, is because of the exceptional service I received last week. I dropped in to fill up my tank and get a carwash, but when I entered my car wash code, the display kept giving me the same directions over and over again. I went in to tell the staff, and they were all so friendly. One of the younger staff members jumped into action, immediately posting a closed sign on the car wash, and the manager apologized profusely, explaining they'd been having some problems with the system lately. she then gave me two free car washes that are good until March. I was really impressed with how the staff worked together and how they treat their customers, even in a stressful situation.

However, gas in Orleans is always cheaper than in Ottawa, even at this location, so I always fill up when I'm in Orleans. This location is also super small. It's like a tuck shop at camp. No bank machine, no slushie machine, just drinks, chips, chocolate, gum, and cigarettes (no, the camp I went to did not have cigarettes in their tuck shop!), and maybe some other stuff along those lines. However, the staff are always nice and the location is pretty convenient if you are heading to the 417.

They also have fruit flavours. They are cheap too. The gigantic one (750 ml) is only $2 or 1000 Petro Points (confession: I use all my Petro Points on slushies here, shh). They also have a car wash at this location, but I don't use it because it's not touchless. It has the old school brushes. I prefer touchless, but if you like brushes, this is the place to go. This Petro Canada also tends to have cheaper prices than other Petro Canadas in Orleans, by a few cents onlt, but hey it adds up, right?

They have a huge selection of Froster flavours. Twelve different flavours! I secretly love Frosters, and love making a rainbow Froster with all the different flavours, lol. Prices are consistent among all Circle K's, so the difference really rests on how big the store is, how much selection they have, and how friendly the staff are. This location scores high on all accounts. Free parking in the strip mall parking lot.
