Their prices are competitive and I like the fact that all their pumps tend to be in working order. Occasionally, my receipt does not print at the pump but that I am able to get one inside without much of a wait. Inside, they have the typical gas station/convenience store items available. They do a bit better when it comes to items like sandwiches, pastries, etc. as I am sure they source most of it from the Tom Thumb grocery store directly across the street. Another nice thing is unlike many other places nearby, there are never any 'undesirables' hanging around the entrance (or the gas pumps) which is a big plus. Access to this station is fairly easy as it's rare for traffic to backup in the area. Lastly, while I have never used it, they do have an air compressor available to take care of any low-tire-pressure needs.

There is a security guard in the store 90% of the time so I always feel safe. Inside the Tom Thumb express you can find all of your typical gas station favorites and treats that kick it up a notch. Pastries, sandwiches and things like that from the Tom Thumb across the street. Is there a party here and I wasn't invited or something? I had to park on the side next to a ghetto car with its hood up, and two hoodlums eying me as I stepped out. I prayed that my car would still be there when I returned and with windows still in tact. It's not a bad neighborhood so I felt the chances were on my side...at least that's what I told myself. Anyway, the place is pretty clean inside. I grabbed my two packages of M&Ms then remembered Megan M & Lisa P's conversation the other day about cheap tea at gas stations. I grabbed a huge 44oz cup (99 cents!) and turned around looking for the tea. They have a huge fountain drink dispenser and a million coffee options, but no fresh brewed tea. Disappointed, I returned my cup and went to check out. At check-out, the dude picked up my M&Ms, then said "Hold on." He scurried off to a bin beside the counter and started picking through packs of random candy. I noticed a "50% off" sign on it, and when he showed me the pack of M&Ms he picked from the dispenser I knew why they were half off. It looked like someone had saved them from 1998 and then ran over it with their car. Um, no thanks. I'll just pay the extra 79 cents for a new package. Wondering if my car was still outside, un-vandalized? Yup. And the hoodlums were gone too.

This is actually now a Shell gas station so Yelp is a little bit out of date but it's a good place to get gas late night, because a lot of the stations around here are overpriced and this one is usually mid-price. So it's close to the party neighborhood and it's open late. It seems fairly safe generally speaking. Not bad.
