Air station is out of order. This is a safety concern. Low air pressure is unsafe. When any vehicle requires air in one or more tires it is very important to address it promptly. Driving around in search of a station with a working air pump is just not safe. read more

ZERO stars. Place is garbage. Bought gas (at their inflated prices, but that's the market and I needed air). Needed air in a tire. I asked the guy working to please turn the air on. I waited at the air compressor for about three minutes. No sound. Pushed the button; nothing. Went back in. I explained to the guy that I still needed air as I had purchased gas a few minutes ago. He said, "Not my problem." Shut this sh&^ hole down. Flagrant violator of California law. Really terrible attitude, prices, service. Here right now 7/9/14 and this is the second time this week the guy left and put a sign up saying be back at 715 which is 45 minutes of no one attending this "24 hour gas station" really irritating when I'm almost out of gas completely and have to sit here and wait. They need to hire someone more responsible because this same guy is a slacker, collecting a pay check to go sit and back and dick around. Ridiculous. More often than not, you'll find that 1-2 of the pumps are out of order. The signs that indicate so are not obvious at all - parking and reparking gets irritating fast. I will only come to this Shell when I am in dire need of fuel - I do not enjoy explaining myself to panhandlers. It's so awkward, no matter which way you spin it, to tell someone that you don't have cash, or "please don't touch my car " (with that dirty dirty squeegee). read more

Just stopped at the shell on turk and I pull up to the air and the black guy was outside and hollers the air don't work. So I proceed out the car towards the door and proceeds to raise his voice over and over and over and over again telling me it don't work and I said what difference does that make thank you I heard you, I would like to purchase something and continues to abruptly tell me it don't work. This is probably the worst business I've ever experienced. At night they lock the doors and you pass goods and payment through a little door. Unfortunately you can't hear what the cashier is saying or see how much you owe so it becomes an indistinguishable shouting match. I will probably never go to a shell again because of just how painful this transaction was. read more

I don't understand the point of having a card reader at the pump because you're just going to be prompted to take your card to the cashier. For that reason, I prefer to use cash here. There's no video screens at the pump so that's a nice plus. They have a Propane Tank Exchange BBQ cage, so that's pretty handy if your propane tank runs empty. You just have to wait for the cashier to finish processing all credit cards from people who weren't able to run their cards at the pump. read more

I've (unfortunately) had to come here on a number of occasions. Every time I'm here I get approached by panhandlers. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes they are nice panhandlers; sometimes they are super sketchy. I think the clerk is cowering somewhere behind the plexiglass. I avoid this gas station whenever possible. read more

All of June 2017. I am done with this place I understand a cashier at a gas station probably cant even pay his rent with his check but of course that is their problem. Paying customers should not have to deal with their attitude. A younger (25ish?) male Latino cashier is either uneducated or prejudice. Today I purchased a soda and some snacks and he did not say a work which is not really the problem but a Thank you would be nice but that has never come out of his mouth. When he rang up my purchase he handed me the receipt and turned around and started playing with something near him. He left my purchase on the counter and said nothing. I asked him if he was done and asked him if I needed to lean to his side of the counter and pick up my purchase and he simple said "yeh" and continued playing with stuff behind him. Customer Service is a hard field. I understand that. I am nothing but polite because I understand. But its obvious this guy does not care about customers. Its a shame because the new girl (black) and the older man (Latino) are both polite and say thank you etc. read more

Ok so Bambi is out of cigarettes in the middle of the night (bad habit)and decides to walk down to this shell at the corner of Franklin and Turk. It's 5am and there is 1 customer at the window... the attendant is passed out on the register asleep and this dude is counting his pennies to buy a cigarette... (u can see where I am going). So am standing watching this guy literally count coins and am like it's 5am and am cold and going thru a withdrawal... He finally gets done and starts banging on the window and yells "hey dude I need a pack of Marlboro lights 100's". The attendant doesn't here him so he starts banging hard again and finally wakes up and here we go again... the coins have to be counted...meanwhile cars are now puling up and a line is forming (morning commuters). People are now grumbling...and this lady yells out .."I have to go to work" am like ...are u kidding me I have been standing her for the last 5 minutes watching this and you just got here Ms Thing... Finally he is done and I guess the guy gave him more money and as he was trying to return the coins he drops them...here we go again.. am like here let me give you a dollar and tell him to keep the change...oh no...this dude wanted his own coins. He was not taking any hand me downs from Bambi. Time it took me to walk down to the gas station: 2 minutes Time it took to get my Pack of cigarettes: 10 minutes Time it took me to light up: 2 seconds (the rush was priceless). The real deal: convenient but watch your stuff when you go to the cashier. I had a co-worker lose her wallet while she was paying for her gas at the counter and forgot to Lock her doors to her car. Never in my life a had to argue with a cashier about my age on my driver license to buy cigarettes. This guy name Fance or something like was arguing with me say my license says 1977, and that by law law I have to be over 1995 according to the sticker thing about legal age to purchase cigarettes. Awful place. Gas prices higher than the Arco and others in the area. Pump card readers don't work so you have to go into cashier. Normally when filling up, you can say filling up, but here they want an amount which they charge to your card and then they refund the amount you don't use back to your card. Panhandlers galore. Avoid at all costs. Hopefully they will start hurting enough for business that they clean up their act. read more

How can I put zero star? I there a way to shut this place down? My plan was to fill up my tank, not to have an aggravating experience. The card reader at the pump doesn't work. I go inside to ask if there was a problem. A very rude girl tells me to pre-authorize my card and decide how much gas I wanted. I htrew a number then I asked how would I get the refund. She explains the process pretending that I knew about it. Everything should happen automatically. I kindly make her notice that she shouldn't treat the customers this way and leave. This is the worst gas station I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. I don't know how the people working the register late at night are even employed. None of them speak or understand english more than my dog. If you have to go here after 9pm you must yell through the glass at the clerk and most of the time have to point at what you want. As if that wasn't bad enough, none of their pumps read credit cards. They all say "see cashier." Which is guaranteed to be a rage inducing experience. The cashier will say, "how much do you want to put on it?" "I want to fill my damn tank! I don't know how much that will cost. Why can't I just do that?" I live less than a block away and the only reason I ever patronize this gas station is because of how close it is, and it's open after 2am. But even then, I hate dealing with the pan handlers which essentially live there, and they're still not as bad as the moron clerks. I swear, if these people can get jobs anyone can find a job. If someone is in a position where the main function of the job involves communicating with English speakers, don't you think maybe they should have a firm grasp of the English language? Your usual inner SF gas prices, small inside store, AND NO BATHROOM! The gas prices are always so high, and to me it's a little weird because the location of this station is in medium-lower end neighborhood so it's pretty much robbing the mid-lower class drivers. The service from the employees are always a quick grab and get out feel. One time I was here, the guy overcharged us for a pack of smokes even while we pre-warned him about the clearly stated discount ON THE BOX! Then he acted as if he did nothing wrong, and didn't even have the decency to say thank you. BOGUS! Lastly, a gas station not having a bathroom is wack as hell. Even in the deepest of darkest ghettos, or in the boony of boony locations have bathrooms. This place, nothing. They always direct you to the Burger King up around the block. Once you go to the Burger King, they make you buy something in order to use the bathroom. What a scam. Nuff said. read more

I was bothered by the often scary, aggressive panhandlers that I often encountered at this station. One man was coming up to the cars and began pumping the gas, expecting a tip for his services. However, as this is the only gas station for miles around and near my office, its location is very convenient. I complained to the attendant, a young man, about the presence of panhandlers every time I visited. He discouraged me from giving to them because, he noted, it would only reward them and encourage their panhandling. The attendant immediately walked out onto the lot and began telling the panhandler to stop bothering the customers. I haven't noticed any aggressive panhandlers since, though I've seen a couple of less aggressive, quieter ones. I have to give the young man high points for immediately responding to my complaints. read more
