This is a gas station with NO bathroom. Don't stop here for gas if you plan to use a restroom while you fill up.

Forget the fact that gas here is about a dollar more per gallon than anywhere else in the city…read more.. I'm the dummy who didn't fill up earlier and now had no choice. But what a bizarre experience at 12:41 in the afternoon. There's a store full of snacks and drinks--which I'd love to grab because I'm hungry--but the door is locked. Fine. I walk up to the cashier window where there's a guy inside by himself, masked up behind bulletproof glass. Whatever, not judging... but he can't hear me through the glass, and I definitely can't hear him with the mask/glass combo. I ask for water. He brings out a Dasani (sorry, it's gross water and you can't convince me otherwise). I ask if he has anything else, and he tells me to "look through the window and pick what I want." The thing is--the glass outside is mirrored. You literally cannot see in. And what little I can see looks like piles of random products stacked haphazardly. (Stale? Probably. Who's buying snacks they can barely see through mirrored glass?) So, I ask if he has Crystal Geyser, and--pleasant surprise--he says yes. He even seemed pleasantly surprised himself, so I guess that makes two of us. Time to pay. I can't leave my card open for the fill-up, which is fine. I estimate a full tank will cost me about $130 (thanks, beastie) and decide to put in $50 to get me through the next day or two. I pull out Apple Pay... but nope. No card reader to slide over. No contactless option. Instead, I have to unlock my phone, hand it over (yes, my unlocked iPhone) so he can take it inside and run the payment. He disappears around the corner with it--just for a few seconds--but still. Handing over your unlocked phone to a stranger whose face you can't even see? Not exactly a warm, fuzzy feeling. Point is: this gas station sucks. Check your fuel level and don't get caught having to refuel here because you're out of options. Don't be a dummy like me. #learneditfromluba

The only thing this Shell station has going for it is the gas, and thankfully, that still works…read more But aside from filling up your tank, I would not count on much else at this location. This is one of those Loop Neighborhood Market spots, and I usually stop at these all over the Bay Area for three reasons: gas, fountain diet soda, and a car wash. I even subscribe to both the drinks and the washes. But here, only one of the three ever seems to happen. You get your gas, and then you get out. Let's talk about the car wash. As others have mentioned, they rarely seem to have soap in the system. It finally happened to me a couple of times too. You wait in line, roll in, and get what feels like a polite splash of water. It is less of a car wash and more like your car got caught in a light drizzle. Then there is the soda fountain. For the last four months, every time I stop by, usually once a week, it is always out of order. On the third month, I kindly asked if they could please fix it, and the response I got was, "Sorry, I cannot help you with that." So now I just walk out with sad, empty hands and a subscription that feels more like a monthly donation. To be fair, the staff inside are friendly, and I know it is not their fault. But it really feels like management gave up a long time ago. Honestly, this place might need a time-out from being part of the Loop Neighborhood network until things are sorted out. So if you are here just for gas, you are good to go. If you are here for anything else, lower your expectations and maybe bring your own soap and soda just in case.

No attendant at the front to lead you or pre-spray your car, receipt printing machine not working. I bought the most expensive procedure ($16.99) and left with my car looking worse - residue from the machine, watermarks from inadequate drying (in the right position, followed the lights). I wish that I had just used a diy coin pressure washer and this point bc I ended up trying to scrub it off with the free towel you get. Would not come again
