I didn't see any of his old crew also making the move as I used to be a regular at his old shop. He told me most went to other shops or have retired. It was nice to see Simon at least. It took an hour to do the oil change. He called me mid job that my engine and cabin air filters needed replacing. $90 (2 filters $55 and labor $35.) I said yes as I was too lazy to do it myself. It would have have taken too much effort to buy the filters myself and install it. ($22 for the engine and $10 for the cabin filter Amazon prices.) There was a slight mishap as they charged me for a synthetic oil change whereas I only got a regular oil change. The billing mechanic (not Simon) messed up. I caught it on the receipt and they had to refund me $26. Otherwise good job everyone at Sunset 76 Auto Repair. Be sure to check your receipt.

I was immediately approached by a homeless guy who asked (more like demanded) that I buy him food. When I said no, he yelled at me "f*cking b*tch.." and few other choice words before he walked away. I was already a bit rattled and immediately another one walked towards me and started asking me money. All this happened literally within 3-4 mins of filling gas. I refused again and got into my car coz I was already freaking out. This is the first time something like this has happened to me in my 17 years here. I don't think the store owners care to clean up their $hit and get rid of these homeless crazies from their premises. This will be my first and last time here. Never again.

As others have mentioned, they rarely seem to have soap in the system. It finally happened to me a couple of times too. You wait in line, roll in, and get what feels like a polite splash of water. It is less of a car wash and more like your car got caught in a light drizzle. Then there is the soda fountain. For the last four months, every time I stop by, usually once a week, it is always out of order. On the third month, I kindly asked if they could please fix it, and the response I got was, "Sorry, I cannot help you with that." So now I just walk out with sad, empty hands and a subscription that feels more like a monthly donation. To be fair, the staff inside are friendly, and I know it is not their fault. But it really feels like management gave up a long time ago. Honestly, this place might need a time-out from being part of the Loop Neighborhood network until things are sorted out. So if you are here just for gas, you are good to go. If you are here for anything else, lower your expectations and maybe bring your own soap and soda just in case.
