Do Not Pay at their counter! I tried three pumps and multiple cards decline on all of them. I walk into the shop and order $70 worth of gas, and i'm told whatever I don't use will go back to my card. I use $50 worth of gas, they kept the $20 difference. TLDR; if the outdoor payment system doesn't work they will steal from you. read more

This gas station is one of my go to when traveling along highway 101. It's literally right off the highway, you can't miss it. The employees are always welcoming and friendly. They always greet the customers as they walk in. Restrooms are open to everyone and you find the key always hanging right inside the door to the right. They have plenty of pumps for fueling up and a convenience store for some snacks and drinks. read more

A bit peeved from my experience here yesterday. I needed a car wash badly, and I also needed fuel, so I opted (I thought!) to do both and pay at the pump, thus saving (I thought!) 20 cents per gallon with the wash combo. I selected my $13.99 wash, pumped nearly ten gallons of gas, only to find that my car wash didn't show on the receipt--and as a result, my fuel had cost me 20 cents/gallon more than I would've opted for. I still needed the car wash, and when I asked the clerk if they could adjust my fuel sale to credit me the extra two dollars, she said she couldn't do anything about it. The employees aren't cautious in their work. We were pumping gas and an employee was cleaning near by. Well whatever was in her spray bottle reached us and went in my eyes. The city is known for being windy so they gotta be careful. Oh and a few of their pumps don't work/accept credit cards. read more

One star for the guy that initially helped me this morning. No stars for everything and everyone else. You would think everything would work fine after being open for just about a month. Stopped by for a quick car wash on way to work paid with my credit card at the entrance to the car wash. Drove in and it just got the front of my car wet. So I went into store and explained what happened. After a bit the guy gave me another code. He said I did it too soon previously sooo I wait till I can no longer see the car in front of me. Entered new code and voila the brushes started... but they barely touched my car and they stopped. Again pretty much just getting front of my car wet. At this point I was running late for work so I thought I'll just stop by on way home. Stopped by on way from work tonight. Again explain what happened. She says 'oh its shut down right now its not working'. I felt like saying 'I know its not working! Otherwise my car wouldn't look like shiet'. She told me to go back tomorrow and try it again. Okay, but I already used the code I explained to her so it proooobably won't work anymore or I'll just throw away more money on another attempt... Blank look on her face... Pete's shell is the first gas station encountered after leaving SLO. (there may have been others but i was getting some shuteye) there's also a few others in soledad. it's adjacent to a newly built cookie cutter shopping mall with the usual tenants involved. our tank was running low so kudo"s to shell for being here. the next station's in salinas, 32 miles away. travelers should note this and plan accordingly. price seem reasonable. premium at 3.299 was cheaper than in SLO. no drama here. usual snacks in the station. car wash at the outskirts. bathrooms along the perimeter. you just need a key from the attendent. some amigo was oogling some white gals even while his wife was in the car! read more

This is probably not the worst gas station I've been too but it should be avoided unless you really need the Starbucks next door. Poor signage, single bathroom for each sex, credit card readers that don't work and a hot mess in the parking lot. read more

Have to give the shell a really great rating today. I'm a disabled person and I was reading the sign and it said that someone would be able to assist me with pumping gas. I've never done anything like that before and I truly suffer for it when I do it myself. So the sign said to honk the horn twice so I did and lovely young man came and assisted me help me with the credit card and pump the gas for me. All the employees were very pleasant as they were walking by smiling and I really appreciate that because it makes them approachable. read more

Went in for a fill-up and express car wash like always. My car came out looking it had more filth than it did before being washed. I went inside the store and informed the attendant of what happened. He went ahead and gave me another code for ultimate car wash as a replacement for the express wash I've originally purchased. The four (4) star review is for the commendable service I've received in correcting the aforementioned problem (Thanks Israel). Though my car came out cleaner, it could've been better. They are overcharging travelers!!! Be aware!!! Price stated 2/$4.44 for Starbucks Frap. Coffee. They charged $2.69 Each. When we asked to correct it, price was corrected only on one drink. We didn't want to fight because it looked like this poor lady over the counter didn't even know what she is doing and she started to argue until we pointed out to the sticker price clearly reflecting 2/$4.44 as we stated. Yes, just pennies, but the amount of people who will travel and go through that location should be aware of misrepresentation. It is very sad to learn that such large and reputable company as Shell will go so low to save pennies by overcharge customers on such a sneaky way. Disgusting! read more

People that work here are nice. The gas station was junk before they remodeled and still is after. Automated machines still don't work.
