It's on my route down from Kensington to Brighton via the A3 and the A24 (scenic route) or M25/M23 (fast route), and is the last petrol station before the M25. Petrol prices are not as competitive as supermarket service stations, but this one is just so conveniently located, and doesn't suffer from excessive queues. It's one of BP's 'Connect' brand of service stations, so as well as offering petrol, diesel, water and air, it also has a sizeable shop, selling the usual confectionery, sandwiches, snacks and drinks, newspapers and magazines, basic motoring supplies, and all with a 'Wild Bean Cafe' franchise, too. (It's not much of a cafe - just a counter, actually). There are customer toilets, as well - essential on a motorbike, as you can't cross your legs to the next stop

Nice service area, even though there is extensive work going on. Rather confusing entrance but go slow enough and you will find your way through. Everything you would need for that necessary journey break. Clean toilets always being kept that way by cleaners.

Toilet facilities are very clean here and there's always at least a free table to sit down and rest for a bit! There's McDonald's , w h smiths and other little shops but staff at McDonald's are really friendly! They also gave me a heads up it there's traffic forming! Also if you ask them nicely you can get an extra squirt of strawberry sauce in a ice strawberry and lemonade drink. Parking is never an issue here I've always found a space I think there is 2 hours free parking so keep an eye on the time!

It's the best petrol station in London…read more It sells unleaded AND diesel. Quite the range. The pumps are numbered for ease of use. 3 is my favourite. Two is good as well, so is 1. Four can do one, just never liked it. Staff are friendly. The forecourt is sturdy.

Tucked away in a railway arch near Southwark Bridge is Uptown Oil, on paper what they offer sounds…read moretoo good to be true, an environmentally responsible, recycled fuel, that is cheaper than it's fossil fuel equivalent. With feeling curious, I set off to investigate. I think if you were trying to read a map and navigate it could be tricky to find, but my sat-nav took me straight there, the place itself is also where they convert the cooking oil to fuel so it looked pleasing like the kind of the place where men with spanners do proper head-scratching engineering, out front is a pump where a man fills your vehicle and takes your credit card and a slight smell of cooking oil pervades the air. The fuel itself they assured me is European standard and is fine to use even in a modern common rail diesel car like mine, and as advertised, was cheaper than regular diesel and you could see the place was a fit with local cabbies. all in all I went away happy and they assure me that they plan in the future to have a garage forecourt somewhere that'll make it easier (and hopefully the opening hours longer)

Perfect for a short stop, especially when you need a short break from heavy traffic. Parking is sufficiently available and well accessible. Particularly noteworthy are the free toilets which are maintained well and kept reasonably clean. Beyond that many ways to eat something are offered without getting much delay. On site are Hamden's Fish and Chips, Starbucks, an Indian Restaurant, Burger King, Nandoo's and some others. There's also a grocery store and a souvenir shop that is also offering some mobile phone accessories. Nearby is a gas station. For me it's almost a mandatory stop off when I drive from Heathrow to the south.

I'm struggling with this place…read more On the one hand it's one of the best motorway service stops I've seen. It has a big range of different restaurants and pretty much all the facilities you could want. And they are all in good condition and clean. On the other hand, everyone stopped here seems to be the sort of person you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alleyway on a rainy night.
