Twinstate Towing & Recovery - Business Card

Twinstate Towing & Recovery

They stated it would cost $420 to get her car back if she couldn't prove she paid to park. In the meantime she's out of a vehicle. Of course they did this at the end of the day. My daughter is more than three hours from home. This company is a predatory towing company and NC needs to step and and stop this nonsense. Working class people cannot afford this.

When I came back out, my vehicle had already been booted by Twin State Towing & Recovery. The driver stated my car was "his now" and that I needed to pay a drop fee or he would tow it immediately. When I attempted to walk to the front of the property to verify the posted signage, he threatened to begin towing the vehicle if I did not pay right away. I ultimately paid $85 via cash to have the boot removed. The driver would only accept cash or Cash App and refused to provide a receipt or business card. No itemized invoice was given. The posted sign on the property primarily displayed a QR code to pay for parking, with "all violators will be towed" in small print. Given how quickly the boot was applied (the driver even commented that my car was still "hot to the touch"), this felt extremely aggressive and predatory rather than reasonable enforcement. I understand private lots have rules, but the intimidation tactics, limited payment options, and lack of receipt were concerning. Consumers should be aware of how quickly enforcement is applied and the payment practices used.
