The Hatchett 's told me to get a Florida attorney, who also did nothing, and cost me $3000+. I'm rambling. I am a freelance writer. Matters of the heart and being robbed by attorneys in Texas and Florida has had me very upset. I signed on with Hatchett Law Firm in 2016 when a lot of promises were made and not kept except the guardianship. This last year they did not bother to file my guardianship papers, nor did they officially send any kind of paper that said they were severing the relationship. I was completely ghosted from March 2025. No returned phone calls. Nothing! DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN. My sister hired Attorney Hatchett to represent our family during a very difficult time. Communication became an issue early on--when we asked questions about the status of the case, we were met with threats that she would stop working with us. After more than 18 months, only limited progress had been made. Following mediation, Attorney Hatchett scheduled our case for a trial, which was unnecessary. The court later canceled the trial because a trial was not required; the case should have been set for a prove-up instead. When we asked for clarification about why this occurred, Attorney Hatchett stated she would no longer work with us. Although she said she was withdrawing from the case, she never formally withdrew and stopped working altogether--after having been paid a substantial amount in legal fees. We ultimately hired a new attorney who immediately stepped in, charged a far more reasonable fee, and was surprised by how our case had been handled. The contrast in professionalism and integrity was significant. While Attorney Hatchett does have a capable support staff, based on our experience, we do not recommend this firm.

Used this law firm in my child custody case, absolute worst. They claim 85 combined years of…read moreexperience, yet somehow managed to get me LESS than the standard custody. Told Allison Hamilton about my ex's illegal business operation, first thing in mediation she says "we know about the business but we won't be using that as leverage." Then proceeds to convince me that our deal was "one of the best i've ever seen." The deal? Me having to pay retroactive child support and a stair step method that takes years to get to standard custody. Not only did she see my ex pushing back for me getting time with my daughter, she helped her give me the least amount time possible with my daughter. Never asked for text messages, no phone recordings, no evidence of anything. It gets worse, the day before judge is scheduled to sign our mediation agreement i call to get the time for court because i want to speak to the judge, and this woman tells me "this isn't a normal court setting, no one is appearing before the judge she is just going to read it and sign it because we all agreed to it already." Come to find out after looking over the court documents, the other party SHOWED UP IN PERSON. They knew i was going to complain about their work to the judge and lied about being able to appear in person. I already talked to other lawyers about the case and they agreed, they not only did the bare minimum but also lied to me. This is my experience working with these people, if they call you acting concerned, they're not. They are only here to take your money and do it while doing as little as possible.
