I've always been the type to "fix" my own animals. Working in healthcare has made that a little…read moreeasier until I just couldn't figure out how to fix my poor dobie girl. She reeked of corn chips, constantly digging,(no fleas), chewing holes in her legs the size of half dollars! I could fix the wounds, but her poor skin got bumpy, raw, and bald. Yes I tried a cone! Finally I gave in when my daughter made the appt. IM SO GLAD I DID!!! Dr Ash is AMAZING! She's very down to earth, calm, friendly, and an all around amazing person! Let's not forget the other staff as well! We were greeted w a huge smile as soon as we walked in. THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS AMAZING TO US and also offered lots of info on how to further help our dogs. 100/100 recommend!!!!!

Probably about a week ago i started looking online for a place to take my little black cat Jiji to…read morehave her eye checked out and to see why she was vomiting shortly after she would eat. I decided upon this place because my grandmother gets her dog Randy's flea and allergy meds. After reading the reviews I was a wee bit apprehensive but I'm pretty sure I saw where it said it was accessible. So I decided to schedule an appointment for her. I arrived for her appointment and There was enough parking in front to where it didn't really matter where I parked. I unloaded my pet carrier onto my rollator and proceeded to the door. I get almost to the door and realize that there is a decent sized step that made it slightly tricky to get in. After struggling with entry and the door I finally get in and went to check in. The front desk clerk was friendly in my opinion and I went to have a seat on the bench in the lobby. The wait wasn't too long but the vet tech brought me and Jiji into the first room. She helped me get the carrier up onto the table that was securely fastened to the (I really liked that). Then I proceeded with my rollator to the side of the table I'm supposed to be on. It was kinda tight and cramped but I managed. Vet tech does her thing after we coaxed Jiji out of the carrier (she buried herself under my Indian blanket) because it had really been her first time ever to the vet since she was kitten and we took her to the neuter scooter. Then the vet comes in and does her assessment and determined that with current situations going on at home and the traveling that she was probably just stressed which made her nervous and that probably what makes her vomit. The eye she tells me is fine and that it's just infected and that she'll have some scarring from the infection but it won't affect her vision. She prescribed me an antibiotic to give her and I asked if they could trim her nails down. After they took her to trim her nails and came back said that she was pretty chill and didn't put up a struggle. We let her get back in her carrier and she dug herself under the blanket again and the tech helped me out to the lobby to pay and then out to put her in the car. Overall I would say the experience wasn't bad at all. Just some slight accessibility issues.

This vet and his staff normally one day per month, hold a clinic inside Rural King in Shelbyville…read moreto give locals an opportunity to have their pets vaccinated at a discounted rate. I have went there with my mother and her Shih Tzu for shots. The staff is gives you a clip board and some paperwork to fill out, just like at a human doctor's office, ha, then you may wait about 15 minutes for your turn as it can get quite busy. They then go over a few things about your dog to verify the correct treatment or regiment of shots to administer. And about 5 or 10 minutes later you're done and on your way out the door with your dog, a metal rabies dog tag (if that was a needed shot) and paperwork stating it has been vaccinated. The cost for just a rabies shot is about $25, and for multiple shots, depending on the pets needs, it may go as high as about $60. So this is a bit less expensive than going to the vet's office, and more convenient for some. Appointments are not necessary when going to the one day clinic. It's first come, first served. His office in Waldron about 15 minutes away is right downtown across from the restaurant and near the grocery store. Easy to find in this tiny town, as those are the 2 main busiest businesses in town, ha.
