This school tour/orientation BLEW our socks off! Easily went to the #1 spot for her and us. From the attendant at the parking garage to their awesome grounds, everything was fantastic. The inbrief was very well orchestrated. You could tell a lot of time and effort went into making sure we understood what the school stands for and how proud each of them are of being DUKE! The campus is breathtaking enriched in history. Our ambassador Matt Rowe (tour guide) was top notch! He's right with 22,000 students this big school, definitely has a small school vibe. I was here for a white coat ceremony and fell in love with all of the ponds, streams, and lakes that dot the campus. They have charming little red bridges, cherry blossom trees, happy forsythia bushes, and weeping willows which makes spring an absolute spectacular time to walk around. Although the school is small, it was evident that the staff was committed to the personal wellbeing and success of every student. The camaraderie in the room was absolutely electric and every student got a white coat cookie with their name on it. How's that for personalization? There's tons of wineries and cute small town restaurants near by as well. I really enjoyed my visit!

Eastern Mennonite University is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA and was founded in 1917. I…read moregraduated from this fine university in 1983 and have appreciated my education every day since then. EMU is a private liberal arts university. Per the school's website their mission is to prepare students to serve and lead in a global context. "Our community of learning integrates Christian faith, academic rigor, artistic creation and reflective practice informed by the liberal arts, interdisciplinary engagement, and cross-cultural encounter." A couple weeks ago I was blessed to witness my nephew graduate here. It was a cold and windy Sunday but the campus was still beautiful and commencement was held under a huge tent with multiple HD screens and speakers so everyone had a good seat. The experience went smoothly, it was well planned and organized every step of the way. Even the parking was easy. I was able to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen in many years so that was a big bonus. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and seminary degrees to students of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Anyone is welcome.

Washington and Lee University is a historic campus, and it's worth a visit if you're into southern history. Washington and Lee was founded in 1749 and named after George Washington and Robert E. Lee. At this liberal arts school, you'll want to check out the University Chapel & Museum, where you'll see the 500 seat chapel, the Lee family mausoleum, and Lee's office when he was president of the university from 1865 to 1870. Also check out the Reeves Museum of Ceramics, which houses the 4th largest collection of ceramics in the U.S. I love walking around university campuses when I'm in a new area, and I'm glad I explored this one.

It's original buildings were designated National Historical Landmarks in the 1930s and Lee Chapel is the resting place of Robert E. Lee who is entombed within. This university is immaculately kept, with expansion of any kind thoughtfully completed in order to seamlessly blend in with the historical feel. I spent a summer here at a program during high school 20 years ago and absolutely loved it. It's small and cozy and home-y and the small town of Lexington has plenty of shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the school. Visiting this summer I easily found my way around like old times, after 20 years not much has changed. It's still beautiful, I saw a few updates, but essentially felt like I had stepped back in time.

Repeater... the grounds on the UVA Campus are amazing…read more Walking around the grounds, I was impressed at how clean, how natural, and how tranquil the fields were. I was certainly thinking of hyping this campus to my freshman niece. While I was there for a course I took notice of how folks congregated on the lawn, and the various lawn chairs, but the grounds provided both open and covered areas for study and social gatherings. The Rotunda itself is a beautiful centerpiece surrounded by pillars and paths floored by brick. Gardens everywhere. There's a small statue dedicated to the first president of the United States. It is centrally located, with academic buildings on one side, and mix of commercial buildings (food, snacks, banks, bookstores, UVA gear... ), it's all there. If you're a student you have quick access to everything. It's very convenient. Very impressed.

It's not a high tech school full of modern conveniences - but it is a quaint, friendly hands on learning environment. My son came out here to tour the campus from Los Angeles and decided it was the right fit for him. He's finishing up his first semester and couldn't be happier there. Kids and staff are kind and welcoming. The programs are great. School spirit is almost overwhelming! I highly recommend a tour and considering seeing what they have to offer.

Recently went to Sanford-Brown College in McLean to get certified in CPR. The price was only $30…read morecompared to $75-$100 everywhere else. The class was fun, educational and most-importantly, taught me how to help save a life. I would highly-recommend this to anyone who needs CPR certification for their job or just to prepare yourself for the possibility of needing it.
