I was ecstatic to get rest on the 10th floor without stomping over my head & noise from any other guests - I saw none on my floor. The room was nice with 2 doubles, large walk in shower in a nice bathroom. No face towels - so I knew to bring my own. No microwave so I brought my personal crockpot. But there was a disgustingly filthy coffee pot & struggling mini fridge that eventually got everything cold. All in all my stay was better than expected considering the negative reviews about the thin walls. So I was proactive in my attempt to get the highest floor. There's 15!!! So I didn't complain. When I plugged in my international adapter then my multi outlets with 3 outlets & 2 usb-c, I blew a fuse & lost most electricity!!! I asked the front desk to send someone to reset the circuit as if I know what I'm talking about. Someone came right up, tested the outlet, reset & I was back up & running. I then used a different multi outlet with less options. Dodged that issue. I took a chance & ordered breakfast. Mini pancakes arrived barely warm, sitting on raspberry sauce, side of chocolate. Barely ate 1. The best part other than the city view & watching the traffic at 4 way intersections without stop signs, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the 'call to pray' from the mosques across the city. All in all, shockingly if this hotel is their idea of 5 stars, I'd stay here again.

We were there for three nights and it was the perfect hotel for the Asian side. The dinner and breakfast was well worth the cash. The spa and gym were clean and bright and the staff very sweet. The couple's Spa package will leave you the cleanest the two of you have ever been. Really. If you are going to Istanbul for work or a visit and not concerned with the sites around Sultanahmet Square or the Grand Bazaar, then this is the hotel for you. If this will be your first time in Istanbul, I would recommend another hotel, closer to the old part of the city on the European side of the Bosphorus. If you have a day and want to go over, then a taxi will cost you about 80 lira with an additional 5 lira bridge toll. Of the hotel runs a shuttle to the local metro that you can take for around 10 Lira each way. Get coins at the front desk as the ticket machine said no to bills.

I recently stayed here in May 2024. I was here for 2 weeks…read more All the men that worked in the front did not understand English nor did they speak it so I had to use google translate. For being 5 star I would think someone would at least speak English to work the front knowing that you get all different types of people from different background traveling here. I had a nice room with a view. They put two beds together to make it look like a king size. The fridge was so low in temperature didn't make my drinks cold and we can't even adjust it which is annoying. The elevator is very small and narrow for this being 5 star the elevator should be big knowing how big the building is! The bed was nice but I wouldn't say it's 5 star! I did not feel the luxury staying here. The shower water and sink water will run and stop while you are showering or using the sink (this is not 5 star)! I think that is how they conserve their water??? It was annoying when you are washing your hair and the water stops then it comes back on and you continue washing and rinsing your hair. If this is considered 5 star their water should not be like this at all! Let's talk about breakfast...mind you I stayed here about 10 days. It's the same food everyday or something similar. You get like 3 types of eggs or they make like 3 types of eggs...like there would be boil eggs, scramble eggs with veggies, or fried eggs folded in thick layers. They don't really give you much meat option. For being 5 star where's the bacon for breakfast? The cook or chef should step it up. This is not 5 star food so everyday you come get breakfast you will eventually get tired of it because it's the same. There's no WOW. It's very basic. We got a massage and couldn't do a couple one because they only had one person working the whole time. They usually get booked so plan ahead if you want a massage. They need to hire more people. We got to use the gym and that was nice. The pool was nice but you had to buy there hair net to put on before you go in the pool. I got to use the sauna and steam room. These amenity was nice when you hanging around the hotel. To make this short they claim this is 5 star hotel. I did not feel the luxury in staying here. The water from the sink and shower turns off and on. The food is mediocre and basic you will get tired of eating it. No one speaks or understood English. They should have a speaking English person in front. I would say this is your average basic hotel that just gives you more amenities. How much would you use the amenities right? This hotel was ok to stay but everything we wanted to do was all in the European side so best to get a hotel where you will mainly travel. We kept having to use Uber and that add up quick especially during traffic hours.

Not sure if…read moreit's the Turkish culture, but the hotel staff just happen to be the least helpful and cooperative! We asked for an adapter (which we ended up paying 5 liras for) and they asked us to go to the lobby to pick it up. Also, our Vodafone sim cards were not working and asked the front desk if we could use their phones, they told us to go to our rooms to use the phone, when we did, we couldn't connect to Vodafone and they informed us to use the pay phone in the lobby instead; is this even logical? We had booked for 8 nights, we are now looking to book another hotel. Officially.

We were traveling with a family of four and a family of three, and had reserved appropriately sized rooms. Instead, we were given tiny, cramped rooms that barely fit two people. Yet the hotel still charged us extra for the additional guests--with zero regard for the fact that the rooms were completely inadequate. Even worse, the rooms--and the hallways--were filled with a strong, nauseating smell of cigarette smoke. The rooms were supposedly non-smoking, but it was clear that nothing had been done to enforce or maintain that standard. If we had stayed longer, our young daughter would have gotten sick from the constant exposure to the smoke. It was that bad. The management was nowhere to be found, and the staff showed absolutely no concern or effort to fix anything. Every complaint was met with cold indifference. Not only were we forced to leave the hotel due to the conditions, but we are still fighting with the hotel to receive a refund for the remaining nights they failed to deliver on. This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott name. It is run with no care for the guest experience, no attention to cleanliness or comfort, and absolutely no accountability. If you care about your health, your comfort, and your money--avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far better options in Istanbul. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had.

This hotel was a nightmare from start to finish, and I honestly cannot believe it's allowed to operate under the Ritz-Carlton name. My wife got food poisoning after eating at one of their restaurants, and we are certain it was from the hotel's food. She became extremely sick--violently ill, and we were left to deal with everything on our own. We informed the staff and management right away, expecting immediate help or at least concern. But what we got was total silence. No help, no refund, no support--nothing. They acted like it wasn't their problem. They showed zero care for my wife's suffering. This wasn't just bad service--it was inhumane. If that wasn't enough, the hotel was blasting loud music for two night. Four nights of torture. We couldn't sleep, and we complained again and again to different managers. And just like with everything else, they did absolutely nothing. They gave empty promises, fake apologies, and then disappeared. No solutions. No respect. No decency. The management is a disgrace--unprofessional, disconnected, and clearly not trained to handle basic guest needs, let alone a serious health emergency. We felt completely abandoned. This place is not safe. They are charging premium prices while offering some of the worst hospitality I've ever seen. This hotel should not just be avoided--it should be reported to the city of Istanbul and health authorities. They are putting people's health at risk. Their food made my wife sick, their environment made our stay unbearable, and their complete lack of accountability made everything worse. We will be contacting Ritz-Carlton corporate and local safety regulators in Istanbul. This is not just about a bad stay--this is about guest safety, human decency, and basic responsibility. Shame on Ritz-Carlton Istanbul. You stole our time, our money, and my wife's health. You ruined what was supposed to be a special vacation and turned it into a painful memory we'll never forget.
