I had a leak in the roof near my chimney flashing, and the job required more expertise than my handyman felt he had. I had a few larger roofing companies come out to give estimates, and all were either unwilling to do smaller jobs or had prices that seemed far too high for a relatively minor leak repair that was almost certainly caused by sealant failure. Elk came out within a couple days of my initial call (this was a minor leak and did not require immediate repair) and performed a thorough inspection of my roof. They agreed with my assessment that the leak was relatively minor and due to sealant failure, although they noted that some of the decking surrounding the leak would need replacement. They provided a very reasonable estimate, which included the full cost of materials. I hired Elk for the job and all work was completed within the week. Elk removed the shingles from the surrounding area and replaced the damaged decking with new plywood. They even took the time to match my shingles perfectly, ensuring that the repair would not be visible, and did a superior job flashing the chimney. It has been more than six months since the repair and I have had no further issues. After the job was complete, Elk took the time to help me store the excess shingles and plywood in my backyard shed, just in case they are needed for future repairs. As a bonus, they were less expensive than any of the big roofing companies I had out, and the contractor who did my job seemed far more experienced/knowledgeable than the technicians who provided my initial estimates. I was very pleased with the prompt, professional work I received and would definitely hire Elk again!

The first project I needed done was some siding repair and a rebuild of a little gate out front, as well as repair of some rotted wood on my front steps. I obtained quotes from 5 different companies (well, tried to - two of the companies came, wrote down my information, and never sent an email or called). Jason responded with a very reasonable, professional, written quote within 48 hours (might have even been 24, it was a while ago, I can't remember now). He responded to every text message I sent immediately, showed up at EXACTLY the time he said he would, and the work was performed quickly and perfectly. Obviously I called him again for the next thing I needed done (overhead racks in the garage). Again, responded to every message and phone call, showed up when he said he would, did the work quickly and perfectly. Oh, and they are all super professional and nice and trustworthy and I literally took a nap in my room while they were working in the house, so there's that too. Not to sound overly effusive, but I am on project six with Fishers Remodeling and they have literally been flawless. Like, every other contractor is pretty much ruined for me. The one tragic part of this is now they are going to get super popular and start remodeling three million dollar mansions and I will never get them to assemble a Murphy bed for me again and then I'll have to start all over. But that's a problem for Future Me. Right Now Me is just enjoying the fact that YES I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR. I want them to do really great and stay around forever, so definitely call them for ALL THE PROJECTS. We had the unfortunate experience of retaining NorthIndy for a railing project. Initially, I stopped by their store early afternoon to look at some of the product. No one was in, and I waited around the open store for probably 10-15 minutes when someone drove up. He said he was the owner. Very nice initial meeting then the wheels fell off. A lack of communication, many missed installment appts for a 2-man crew who showed up knowing this was second floor and didn't have a ladder. Fortunately, I the homeowner did have one that worked. The installers said they couldn't install part of the railing, so the GC had to install them. We were told there was a mix-up on the order and the wrong railing was ordered. I imagine communication with the GC and NorthIndy was part of the problem. The GC stepped up and installed part of the railing as the NorthIndy crew said they couldn't. Finally, I gave up and just wanted them done and gone. Both the GC and I had to call many, many times to get a call back and answer. I took off work waiting for them on at least 3 occasions only to have to call them and ask where are you? There are plenty of other sources for Westbury products and I'd look for anyone but NorthIndy. I expect a less than responsive reply, without taking any responsibility for their seriously lacking customer service.
