The restaurant open for buffet breakfast for $15 (haven't tried it) then the restaurant open from 6 pm to 9 pm for dining in & eating at the restaurant. It could smell a bit of fish in the reception after 7 pm (after serving fish & chips). I came a bit early around 12 pm. The hotel reception kindly checked me in. the internet isn't completely free, there is 100 MB free per 24 hours per room, then if you want pay AU$ 9 per day for unlimited data. There is a parking charges. I guess 15$ per day. The self laundry (where you do your laundry by yourself) 3$ per cycle. The location very short distance from Macquare university (indeed it's on campus) ~ 4-8 minutes to get to most buildings. Very close to Macquare cente and train station around 6 minutes walking. I will update if anything change during my stay

I stayed here for a few days to attend a wedding. Definitely did not give a good first impression…read more We went to check-in to our room (we had 2 bookings for 2 rooms), they only found one of the two bookings. They spent about 30 minutes looking for the other booking. Turns out it was a problem with the website we booked with. Anyways, after about 30 minutes of waiting around in the lobby, they just decided to send us to one of the rooms that we booked to wait instead. They told us that they would come up in 15 minutes to give us the keys to the other room. 45 minutes later...no one comes up. We call reception from the room phone, it somehow goes to another department and we had to be redirected ( aka the tags on the phone were wrong). They tell us they will come up shortly with the keys. Another 15 minutes later, we finally get the keys to the other room. A day later, the internet server dies. We call the reception and they say it will be fixed later that day. Later that day, it STILL is not fixed and then they tell us it will be fixed tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, it is still not fixed and they claim they are working on it. Later that night, it is FINALLY fixed. The facilities are pretty nice, rooms are quite spacious and I like how the office area is apart from the beds so one person can work while the other sleeps. They have a wide range of tv channels. Overall, the only issue I had with this hotel was the initial impression and the internet problem, otherwise, the rooms and other amenities are quite impressive.

It looks quite small but it is so large. The rooms are delightful and very comfortable. My daughter was coming down from the central Coast when she lost control of her car in the rain. She had to stay in Sydney as she had no way of getting back that night. I phoned and made a booking, they were so helpful and even though they were busy, they found a room from my daughter and her partner at 9pm at night. We celebrated my sister-in-law's 60th birthday at the hotel. The food was great, every course a winner. We had wonderful service, the staff were terrific. Now I go to the Spa at the hotel. It's in a separate building, right next to the swimming pool and it is really rather luxurious. They offer all sorts of things like body wraps and stone massages . The only problem is getting through to them. They don't have a separate receptionist so you have to leave a message. However, if you want to spoil yourself or a friend, there's nothing better.

Featuring your usual array of TAB and pokies, the Birko (save writing out the whole name!) is also home to the Flying Cow Bistro, which serves your usual array of Aussie pub fare, including a kick-ass schnitzel ($16 - see photo) as well as some highly regarded steaks (which you would hope considering the name) that you can get for $10 on Monday and Tuesdays!. If you've got kids, they'll eat free on Saturdays and Sunday (as long as you eat a main meal as well). They also do $10 burgers on Thursdays during their badge draw and you can get lunch for $12 on weekdays (from 12-2). The pub itself is a pub of 2 halves. One half, you have the TAB area with the majority of the locals, most of whom seem friendly enough (which is not always the case in local-filled establishments)! The other half, you have the more youthful orientated section, featuring a pool table (and a pinball machine!) as well as the courtyard out the back. Located a short stroll from Drummoyne town centre, it's probably not on your obvious route when pub hunting, but it's definitely worth a stop in if you get the chance and you're in the area!
