I went out of my way to help, I mapped out where fraudulent transactions were happening, listed the amounts, and even contacted a gas station that has surveillance footage ready for police review. The thief racked up over $700 in purchases using my cards. Despite all of that, I can't get any follow up. Calls go unanswered, and the deputy assigned to my case hasn't responded to my emails, including when I asked for another evidence submission link so I could send in the footage. It's incredibly frustrating to put in this much effort and get no response. At this point, I accepted that nothing is going to be done anyway. I even have a photo of one of the people who used my wallet, but there has been zero movement or communication. End result, I am left dealing with a stolen wallet that had my cards, cash, and driver's license. Not exactly a great experience.

This was a frustrating experience as I am coming back to this area after 20+ years and have had way…read morebetter experiences with dmv in Nevada and Florida. First, it takes a month just to get an appt. Next, there are no instructions about the vin verification. A sign for ringing to get someone to do the verification would have been more helpful next to the lane you pull into. Inside, trying to get my new state license, I bring some print outs of docs that said they were approved but then she wouldn't accept my mail address notice or my Verizon print out. She suggested I go to a business shortly away and print out an actual bill and come back, but didn't explain whether id have to wait in line as a walk-in or anything at that point. The previous (state's) dmv's had seating as you were being helped, but apparently here don't expect to feel welcomed or comfortable at any time.

I knew LG DMV had a "wait in line" option for the help I needed. On the day of, when I was ready to…read morego, I just logged on to the DMV website, selected the LG location and joined the "wait in line." This was a great option since appointment scheduling was over a month out otherwise. After joining the line, I started driving out to the DMV. Once I arrived and got a parking spot, I waited another 10-15 minutes until my number was called. Once my number was called, I received a text with the window number to report to. I went straight to the assigned window and had my paperwork done for a title correction. I didn't get the name of the person helping me, but she was knowledgeable and efficient. She reviewed the paperwork I submitted, asked any questions she had, then processed it. She was able to give me an approximate timeframe for the paperwork to come in. Now that it's been about 2 months since I went to the DMV, I can say that her timeframe was an overestimate. I highly recommend this DMV. I love that they have streamlined the process and that there's no long line out the door like the in past. Parking can be a bit difficult, but can be found if you're okay with doing a circle or two. There is also street parking.

A couple of months ago, I was dumb enough not to remember carrying my keys with me when throwing…read moretrash outside of the house. The wind closed the door behind me and it was locked. I freaked out because my baby was inside the house alone; I ran to my neighbor and asked to use their phone to call my husband but wasn't able to reach him. A few minutes later, I decided to call 911; the operator asked me to wait outside and help is on the way. I kept talking to my baby through the door; I was in tears hoping nothing bad would happen. I waited for about 5min (might be shorter, but it seemed longer when I was anxious), the Santa Clara Fire Department came. They were all very friendly and patience; they calmly asked for detail information about my house and my baby. They tried to find a way in without breaking my doors; they quickly figured out a way to get into the house through a window. As soon as they opened the door for me, I ran to see my baby. Luckily she was safe, enjoying some videos in the high chair. The Fire Fighters didn't just leave right away, instead, they made sure to place the window net back on correctly, said hello to my baby and my dog, as well as checking the smoke protectors at my house. Embarrassingly, all of my smoke protectors were out of batteries; they offered to install new ones but refused to let me pay for them. They also played with my baby and my dog while waiting for the protectors to be installed. Seriously, I haven't seen a group of genuinely nice people in a long while. While I felt very bad for them to come for my stupid mistake, I was very thankful that they were able to rescue us in such a short notice. Thank you Santa Clara Fire Department! You guys are awesome.

Visited Saratoga library for their story time arranged by my son's baby group. It was my first time…read moregoing in to the library, although I've passed by it a handful of times. The inside of the library was so neat and clean. There was a lot of natural lighting too, which made the library seem more inviting. The kid's section of the library has a large selection of books. There is a play structure with a slide, a "bonfire" area, and a play corner for new walkers. There are even a few reading books by the window. My son had a great time walking around, exploring, and reading some books. When it was time for storytime, the librarian walked my son and his baby group to a private room. It's nice knowing that they offer this service aside from the regular weekly storytime. They have a parking lot, which was about 90% full by the time I left around noon. I went on a weekday.

I've gotten a good amount of work and reading done in this library. I also love how close it is to Highway 85, so I can quickly stop by to return items or pick up reserved items when I'm in a hurry. The Saratoga, Cupertino, and Morgan Hill Libraries have all redefined the standard I expect libraries to have now. MLK Library in DTSJ is trash compared to these three IMO. The sheer number of books, blu-rays, and video games each library has is insane. You're missing out if you don't sign up for a Santa Clara County Library card!

Appointments was about 2 months out and I wanted to try to get it done earlier as a walk-in. They really should put a sign saying everything is by appointment only (effective 01/2025). I waited an hour only to go to the window to be told this and offered to make an appointment for my next visit. I shouldn't even have the option to get a number. The ticket computer should have a hard stop programmed if you don't have an appointment. PUT A SIGN UP BECAUSE THE WEBSITE STILL WELCOMES WALK-INS!
