Saw Kip Moore here last night and had a great experience! Security and checking was very fast. Had a good selection of drinks and snacks. We had seats near the front which were comfortable (even tho we stood the whole time haha). Security did a great job keeping everyone safe. Sound and lighting in the venue were great. read more

The Sherman Theater first debuted on January 7th, 1929; exposing the Stroudsburg area to newfound cultural beginnings on opening night with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Through the decades, the theater became the central point of the community. The Sherman Theater is proud to have served the community by featuring demanded artists, assisting in the betterment of the community, and always having there doors open for the public! Depending on the event, the room can accommodate General Admission standing shows, general admission seated shows, reserved seated shows, or any combination. Event setups include everything from cage fighting events to our annual Beerfest setup. There standing capacity is 1,800 while our seated capacity is 1,250. I've seen a few concerts here, this was our first comedy show, which was Rob Schneider, he was definitely rated R and very funny. It was a late birthday gift from my daughter. They have a full bar and a snack stand before walking in. If you want to drink alcohol you must show ID and get a bracket to be served. Staff is so friendly. read more

Theater advertises events as "all ages" when the content could not be further from appropriate for children. When I reached out to the theater to express my concern, it was suggested that I should have done more research on the act. There was enough inappropriate content to fill an "R" movie. Certainly not appropriate for "all ages". Customer service is not helpful. read more

Went there to see Tom Papa.... Nice theater. Scary incident right before the show started.... Customer passed out and stopped breathing. Staff took way too long to react, turn on the lights and take control. Thankfully, there was an EMT in the crowd and after 5-7 minutes, it was determined to be insulin shock. Could have been real bad if it were something worse (side note: local EMS took over ten minutes to arrive). Management needs to figure out their security/emergency plans. Outside of that, the experience was great, the theater was clean, the staff friendly and the show was great. read more

Cool theater that has seating for some shows and GA for others. Small bar but well stocked and good service. Plenty of security at least for the two shows I attended this month. Place is generally clean and bathrooms aren't a disaster. Sound quality is pretty good but again will depend on what you're seeing. Sight lines are all good even standing. The box seats look really great but cost extra. Parking garage a block away. No food but movie theater type snacks. I wouldn't hesitate to visit the Sherman again. read more

It's a concert theater with no seating unless you are in the VIP (or at least you can call it that) section. Great acoustics. Ticket prices are reasonable. Concert goers, for the most part, are friendly and not rowdy. Saw a great band Halestorm (halestormrocks.com). Was able to meet them afterwards. Humble and very very talented! Awesome music and they put on a great show. My gf absolutely loves them and I have to agree as well. The theater also has a full bar. Parking is limited to street parking but we had no problem finding a spot. Enjoy! read more

Make sure you bring cash or you won't be able to buy anything. Oh and a valid ID because they carded me and I'm 45. The 30 year old said I looked 17 because he's apparently stupid. But what may be the worst part of the venue aside from finding a parking spot is that it gets very hot in the theater. I had to periodically leave the venue room just to cool off because apparently they don't ventilate it well. Sound was good and the act was fine, but the whole cash only thing was a huge negative for me. Couldn't get anything and then they tell me "there's an Atm over there." Sure. Been there quite a few times for the Zeppelin cover bands. Staff is always friendly. Looks like they are attempting to do some much needed renovations.. needs work. Drinks are a bit overpriced, but they do have a wide variety. Overall a good place to see shows. read more

Clean and easy venue, plenty of standing room for all. Bar can get crowded at times and the temperature of the place can get a little warm with the crowds and during the summer, but a winter show I would advise leaving the coat in the car if you can. The floor slants forward so you can get a good view from anywhere in the venue which is a plus. Balcony area offers a different view but I wouldn't see it as anything special. Get there early for a good spot up front or make your way through the crowd later. Fog machine can get a little heavy at times making photos difficult. read more

Great venue!! The floor is sloped so for us shorties it's very easy for us to see even in the back! That way almost every spot gives you a great view. The sound can't be beat either. Reasonably priced beer too which is a huge plus. Only great things to say about this venue! read more

Saw a great band there last night Circa Survive. I had never been here before so didn't know what to expect. Read the reviews and thought the place would be a small little theater. It was bigger than I expected. Yes it's hot but I've NEVER been to a club where I didn't sweat my ass off. It also wasn't as crowded as I was expecting based on other reviews. Yes it was packed down by the stage but concerts like this are always that way! there was plenty of room in the back. They also had a small balcony with seats for the LAZY people who like to sit. (not me). I will go again. Finding a parking spot took a little while. The 2 best things about the Sherman are the sound and the sloped floor. read more

I've been going to concerts/shows for over 20 years, and The Sherman Theater is one of the best venues that I have visited hosting live entertainment! The Theater recently underwent renovations updating the facility with state of the art sound and lighting, as well as a cosmetic overhaul that enhanced its appearance while showcasing the historical aspects of the theater. There is no "bad spot" in The Sherman. The old time layout of the theater gives every person attending a fair vantage point of the stage, and the acoustics reach every nook & cranny of the theater. There is both seating and standing room that vary depending on the event being hosted, as well as balcony seating and four VIP booths, multiple restrooms available in three locations, three bars, a concession stand that offers both packaged snacks and hot food made in house by the in house chef, a coat check, and outdoor smoking section. The staff is by far one of the best I've ever seen! The bartenders are attentive and deliver speedy well made drinks. The chef at the concession stand takes the time to explain the fresh made items he prepares each evening, as well as a little fun insight into what he makes for the performers. Security is fantastic! They are all very friendly, interacting and engaging guests, while directing and answering questions as needed. Most times you'll find the owner on hand who is also very friendly, who you can tell has a true passion for the business. You can often see him pitching-in helping-out his staff during the busier events either pouring beer, helping with coat check, or just directing the action as the events unfold. Overall, The Sherman Theater is a straight-up class act providing a safe, comfortable, and fun environment that offers something for everybody! read more

This venue is fine for a concert. It's not the nicest theater and most of the security guards are goons. The sound is pretty decent, but the place is run down and the seats aren't stadium seating, so it's hard to see if you are on the first level. For some reason, no one was allowed to stand and they were yelling at people for it. There was an outdoor smoking section. Prices were reasonable. There is plenty of street parking with meters that are free after 6 p.m. I wouldn't go to another show here unless the band I wanted to see wasn't playing anywhere else. read more

Been to many concerts here at The Sherman and have enjoyed every one of them. I even took my 9 yr old son to his first live music concert here a few weeks ago and he can't stop talking about it. The staff is friendly, the no-fee ticket prices are the best around, the crowds are great - they have created an enjoyable formula for the music scene. The facility itself is in need of an upgrade, and I am fairly certain that it will be getting one in the near future - that is the only reason I would hold back 1 star. Great beers on tap, too, also at reasonable prices. Keep up the great work and keep booking the great shows! read more

I'm not giving this place a good review, because I drove over 3 hours to see Adelitas Way play with Theory of a Deadman and Charm City Devils. We get there it is freezing cold, they said the doors would open at 6:30, they didn't open until 7:00. I don't care that there isn't really anywhere to sit, because we usually get in the pit anyways. Charm City Devils come out, who I didn't really care to see, they sing one song and say, oh btw Adelitas Way couldn't be here tonight. Nothing posted on Sherman's Theater site until we were all standing outside freezing then they posted it, because they didn't want to make anyone mad. Then they told Adelitas Way not to post anything either until 6:30 on their site! The parking is terrible too! We stayed for a few Theory of a Deadman songs, then headed the over 3 hour drive back home. Been to a lot of concerts and will never come back here. read more

Be careful if you go to this venue. Maybe it was just the night I was there. But the security guard I believe has serious issues with his masculinity and felt the need to keep me out because he thought it made him feel powerful and controlling of women. I'm a little girl who is 4 foot 11 and weighs 95 lb. Keep that in mind for all of you who are heading to a rock concert that's preforming at Sherman's Theatre...There's absolutely nothing wrong with the theater and they offer ABUNDANT alcohol at their bar. What an ironic contradiction!!!! What's wrong is the security.. If I were extremely inebriated, I would admit it. I was not. I volunteered to have them call the police and test me. I volunteered to have them walk me a straight line. None of those things were allowed. It was just you are not allowed into the meet and greet... Which is what cost me an extra $260 plus dollars per ticket (there were 2) so I have lost over than $500 and it ruined my birthday which was my gift for my birthday to see Mike Shinoda. Just keep it in mind that you might want to pretend as if you have consumed absolutely nothing when walking into the theater. I will be fighting this endlessly and have the security tapes produced to show I was not intoxicated which cost me $300 plus tax...per person. My husband was not allowed in either even though he had ABSOLUTELY no alcohol! I guess Sherman's Theatre just needs to screen their security guards better... They may be mentally ill. I can't get ever back being able to have the one-on-one contact with Mike Shinoda who is the other lead singer of Linkin Park. This was the only time...this insecurity security guard felt like a 95-pound girl could be a little bit of a problem to him. it was my birthday and I will never have that experience again because a real whole this theatre chose to you. Wheelchair Accessibility: This review focuses on ADA compliance and wheelchair accessibility in the venue itself. Although Sherman Theater doesn't have designated ADA sections, they made every effort to accommodate people with mobility devices during my most recent visit to see Blue October. When I explained that I'm a wheelchair user to the box office, I was instructed to show up about 15 minutes before doors opened. I lined up with a few other wheelchair and scooter users. We were greeted by an amazing security staff member named Danny who took great care in making sure that we made it to the front row on the right corner of the stage. He parted the crowd for us and politely asked other general admission ticket holders to allow us in front so as to make sure we could see the stage free of obstructions. Danny was extremely attentive throughout the show by checking on us all periodically and making sure our area remained free of obstructions. When the show was over he was right there to help us get through the crowd with minimal difficulty. I really feel like Danny made every effort to make sure that I had the same chance to experience the show as anyone else who pays full price for a ticket. I've been to many shows in the past at The Sherman Theater when I had to advocate for myself and even though they typically worked out, it was always a very anxious experience. Thanks to Danny and what felt like an impromptu ADA seating section, I won't hesitate to by tickets to shows there ever again. I'm confident I'll be taken care of once I get there. This venue is an old fashioned movie theater converted into a concert venue. It is general admission on the floor and has seating available in the balcony. I went to this venue last night for HELLYEAH. The doors were supposed to open at 7pm, but didn't open until about 30 minutes later. Security wouldn't let me bring in my small purse, which they said was at the request of the band. But I have seen this band many many times before and I can't remember them not letting in small clutch purses before. I was inconvenienced to have to return my purse back to my car, which was a 15 min walk in each direction....in the rain. Also, this venue takes credit cards at the box office but they only take cash inside and they don't have an ATM, so bring cash if you want to buy food or drinks. Not one of my favorite places. I wish they would have made the announcement about zero bag policy on social media or in email prior to entering the show so I didn't lose my place in line. Also, the sound was off. I could barely hear the vocals for all of the bands. read more

went to this venue a few weeks ago for a concert. it is smaller which i love about it. you can stand anywhere and have a pretty good view of the stage. the prices for drinks were normal for any concert or event. the only thing i didnt like was that if we went outside we werent allowed back in. there is a smoking section outside but if you arent a smoker and just need to escape the crowd for a little there is no where to go. also there isnt enough bathroom stalls for the ladies. i cant give it a 5 star because of the 2 things i didnt like but i would highly recommend this venue for shows and i will more than likely go back if another band i like plays here. read more

I went here to see a lil uzi vert concert which was advertised. The front page of the advertisement made it seem as he was the main act and other performers would sing with him. This was nothing as I thought they tricked many people to come and cram into the place just so they could make us stand for 3 and a half hours and listen to the awful side performer rappers. Lil uzi came on for 20 minutes at the end of the show. Awful concert everyone hated it and were yelling for Lil Uzi to come out. The performers would tell us to make noise for Uzi as he was coming out but then they would bring another side act out to waste our time. Horrible choice to buy these tickets that were 54 dollars. Plenty of false advertising for this concert. Awful expierence. read more

I would never buy tickets at this theater seeing as they are nothing but a bunch of liars in my eyes. I purchased 4 tickets for Awolnation which was supposed to be at the Croc Rock in Allentown, PA. My family & I got in the car & drove the 40 minutes to the venue. When we arrived we found it closed so we went to the restaurant next door & asked what happened to the concert. We were told that it was moved to the Sherman Theater in East Stroudsburg, PA. I contacted the venue in regards to the situation & was told that they would provide me with 4 tickets to another show. I was told that all I would have to do is call them when I figured out which show I wanted. I contacted them & asked for tickets for the show Rise Against. They refused to honor the agreement they made to me & have not provided me with the 4 replacement tickets as promised. It's not my fault that they don't keep records of who they owe tickets to. The owner & promoter of this venue is nothing but a dishonest bunch of liars. In addition I was told by the promoter that the reason that they moved the show from the Croc Rock to the Sherman Theater was because the Croc Rock lost it's liquor license. I understand that that may cause profits to go down but is no reason to change venues. You don't need alcohol to have an awesome concert. read more

Saw Govt. Mule 3/7/15. Show was phenomenal, venue not even close. Seats are all gone so they could pack people in like sardines. Capacity ( from their website) is 1250 with seats and 1800 without. So they mean that with seats it takes up an additional 550 spaces?? What moron came up with that number?? Perhaps if everyone weighed 125 pounds and you stood them all like soldiers. On 3/7/15 the night of the show, it was insanely overcrowded. People tripping over each other, no room to move. Security was unable to keep the aisles clear on each side of the floor because there was nowhere for anyone to " move along". The only place there was any room to move was inside the bathroom stall and only then after fighting through the throngs of people for 15 minutes to even get there. Standing capacity as it is currently needs to be reduced, otherwise clearly a fire hazard. People would have been trampled if there was a fire. Sherman clearly dropped the ball when they removed the seats. I guess it's all about how much money they can make by squeezing in as many as they can. Will never return unless Jimi Hendrix arises from his grave to play a show at the Sherman. Not worth the time or the money. read more
