I never went with my husband to get our taxes prepared, and although we filed jointly I never signed out final tax forms. My husband was the sole provider and was responsible for all our finances. When I came in to meet with attorney Michael, I was not impressed with his appearance. First impressions are everything and he did not make a good impression. That is one thing my husband and I always agreed on, and to this day has always worked out for us. Michael immediately told me the office had only one other case similar to this because usually people in this type of situation couldn't afford to hire an attorney. He automatically assumed I could not pay his fees, although I paid his 350.00 "consult" free for 1 hour on this day. He said he needed to look up laws and printed out forms for me to complete on my own because he was not up to date on those laws. He didn't look into any books, or online or even discuss with another attorney while I was there. Maybe it was my ethnicity that led him to believe I was unable to pay for their fees. I don't know, but he was worthless and a waste of my time. I go to an attorney for help, and he prints out papers for me to fill out on my own. I could have done that myself on my own computer for free. He didn't even know if they were the correct forms. Just because this firm was in Claremont, doesn't mean they know what the are doing. The receptionist was nice, but the restrooms were dirty and the attorney was dressed in what looked like polyester. That should have been my first sign to walk out. I highly recommend The Lending Tax Group in Pasadena for any of your Tax needs. They don't judge you, they help you. They even have payment plans if needed. (I didn't need a payment plan) I don't know how this law firm gets clients when they are represented by an ill fitted, cheap suit wearing, uninformed person calling himself an attorney.

Chris was the attorney for my parents' trust a few years ago. My parents were both very pleased…read morewith him and his work product. When one of my parents got sick and was hospitalized, my sibling and I contacted Chris to help us to interpret his documents as we are not attorneys. We got about 10 minutes with him, where he asked us for some information that we didn't have available. We agreed with him to get back with him in a day or two. When we called him back, he was unavailable, so we left a message. He never returned our call. We tried him back two more times and left him messages, but again, no return call. We even set up an appointment with him by phone through his office staff, but he never called and he was unavailable when we called his office to find out what was happening with the appointment and we never heard from him again. I know this is typical for attorneys, but I didn't expect this from Chris after my parents' rave reviews. At least tell us no or tell us you'll have to charge us, but don't just leave us hanging. Too bad for him as my sibling and I were both going to have Chris put together living trusts for us after we wrapped up our pending issues.
