Dog owners, do not trust this groomer!…read more My husband dropped off our corgi to be groomed at Cindy's. It was supposed to be a simple routine service that we've always done with other groomers. A bath, a light trim on his paws and the back of his legs, and a nail trim. As most groomers and dog owners know, double coated dogs should not be shaved. Apparently Cindy did not know this. My first red flag was when she asked if we wanted his whiskers trimmed. What kind of groomer would do that to a dog? Anyway we decided to still give her chance, the location was convenient for us. My husband brought our corgi home and to my surprise, he was completely shaved. His entire body. And it wasn't even a good cut, you can clearly see the blade marks! Cindy explained that her clippers broke as she was shaving his bum area and cut out a huge chunk of fur from his leg. Instead of calling and explaining, she thought it would be smart to even it all out and shave his entire body. His coat will grow back after a few months but it likely will never look the same again. She caused permanent damage on his coat and there's nothing I can do about it. Do not trust this woman with your dogs grooming services, especially if you have a double coated dog or any special breed.

However I'm writing this review as I hope the veterinarian I believe his name was Louie, gets the recognition he deserves. You all have a gem of a veterinarian in your hands. He made this process so much easier than our last. He is the type of person you can tell cares. His heart is in his work. He explained everything and kept us informed and was patient with us the entire time. He spoke to our old man Guinness like he was a friend. This man is a one of a kind and I hope whoever reviews these comments makes sure he gets the recognition he deserves. He brought us his entire lunchbox of snacks to give something tasty to Guinness on his last day. I previously worked in vet med and had to walk away from the career of my dreams not because of the stress but the people. My dream was always to help animals but I had to learn not everyone in the business has a pure heart and to see an individual who still has empathy in this way, it restored a piece of hope for both my husband and I. I said, but she's lost a good bit of weight, so something is wrong. please just prescribe her an antibiotic just in case. she said , no, I can't cause we are to give these meds first. A few weeks later after finishin her pro biotic & motion sickness meds, she feel ill immediately again, so I take her back, they say they can't find anything after 4 blood test, still. Except, they forgot to tell me weeks before when she had her blood test done that they saw she had been bitten by a tick, so they finally give me antibiotic & on my way out the door they say she might not make it. Why wasn't I told nearly a month before on initial visit about this tic bit. I got her the antibiotic & she passed away the next day. She was a beautiful 3 year old Yorkshire Terrier and not that this matters, but she was a $6000. yorkie of high quality for breeding, I just want her back not the money. they are a corporation now & no longer are privately owned. No Good!

Recently took my tripod Yorkie for grooming. New to area and based on online reviews decided to…read moretake her to The Animal House for grooming. She is a 10 year old who has been groomed regularly her entire life with only one incident of injury (a cut in between her paw pads). All groomers have consistently praised her for being a sweet dog and a pleasure to groom. Dropping her off found facility appearance and greeting was pleasant. When I picked her up the owner advised my dog was kind of squirmy during grooming. Immediately upon returning home she began persistent licking and chewing all over her body and it was obvious that either her skin was very irritated or she had possibly picked up some fleas. Upon inspecting her I found she had multiple clipper burns on her belly and on the insides of her rear legs. Also noted her hair cut was pretty choppy and overall it did not appear she had been groomed by an experienced professional. After 5 days of the constant licking and chewing I took her to the veterinarian to see if it could be determined what was causing such terrible irritation. Vet believed she was having an allergic reaction possibly to the shampoo as when she examined her closely found raw spots all over her body but no visible evidence of fleas so she put her on a 15 day course of prednisone. Now after 7 days of prednisone she is much better. Vet expressed that maybe she shouldn't be groomed there anymore. Based on the poor quality of cut, multiple clipper burns and such serious skin irritation I don't believe we will be using this groomer again.

Then we get a call this morning, day of drop off, that says he needs to have Boarding Shots. Obviously, now we're in a panic because we're leaving town tomorrow (early). So, we've called every Vet we've found on Google, and surprise, nobody has any openings for shots until mid-December. I've reluctantly used them in the past because they are cheap. Beware... you get what you pay for. Their service is anything but friendly. The last time I went to pick up my dog, I rang the bell several times and waited in the lobby for 20 minutes before somebody came to ask if they could help. In this instance, we're asking friends if they can watch our dog for the weekend. Otherwise, we get to tell our kids that we won't be taking our little trip as planned. That should be fun to explain to our 4 year old (who LOVES hotels).

My problem is we started to use them for his shots. It only made sense to us since they had to call his previous vet to get his medical history. But when we took him in, they did not want us to come back and be with him while he was getting his shots. Now this seems odd to me since with all my other animals and vets, we were always allowed to go back with them. Never has a vet refused to allow us back so we could comfort the animal during that stressful time. Something seems off about this. I think while I'll continue to get him groomed there, I'll take him back to his previous vet for his shots.
