I had initially asked for recommendations for electrician but appreciated that he reached out privately to explain what I would need done. Adam immediately offered to come over and look at what I would need done and provided a free estimate. His communication / response time was quick and professional. Throughout the estimate he was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. After receiving the quote, he provided his card and without pressuring whatsoever said to call if I was interested. I reached out the same day to get scheduled. He was again quick to respond and booked me within the same week. He even reached out again to help move my installation to a Sunday morning due to the weather forecast. The installation went smoothly and quickly, and he was professional throughout the entire experience. When I emailed for details, I received a phone call within 15 minutes from the sales rep. He explained it was for two days with two techs based on the need for extensive multi-floor drilling from attic to basement with extra wiring having to be run based on length of service need. On day of install, one tech arrived. I asked where was the others on the team? I was told that only one installer was required. After reviewing the property, the tech said that most of what was listed on the work order was unnecessary and floor drilling would not be needed. Then I was told that the job would be for one day, not two. The tech arrived soon after 9:00am and was done by 3:00pm with time for lunch. About 6 hours work. My labor quote was for two days and two techs. So, that comes to around $250 an hour at a grossly misrepresented charge. When I contacted the sales rep, his only reply offered a small discount on future services and a refusal to adjust the labor charge. Attempts to discuss with the General Manager were just as dismissive. It was nearly 30 days to get a response from the manager and that was nothing more than a refusal of conversation as well. A direct quote "We have nothing more to talk about. You may contact the State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs to register a complaint. Be sure to reference our PA State HICPA Registration Number PA005693 when you do to speed the process along." I would highly recommend not going with Altronics. If you do, make sure that the labor portion is line item entered in writing with every detail listed to make sure you don't get taken advantage of as well.

I called on a Monday, spoke to someone (who could answer their phone but apparently wasn't authorized to accept a cancellation order), who then switched me to a "dedicated" staff person who wasn't dedicated enough to answer - I was on infinity hold. I called back the next day, and this time the person on the phone was able to put the cancellation through. I asked that it be effective the Monday when I first called, the day before. Nope, it was actually processed the day AFTER my second call to them. Other Yelpers have noted this cancellation problem as well. Those two extra days on my dime are not a huge amount, but it's a significant hassle no one deserves - especially not a cusomer whose been with them for years.

Was afraid to bend in back into place as it would definitely have snapped. Took it over to this place and spoke with Bill. He tried to bend it back into place and as suspected, it snapped. He managed to make me a matching copy with some effort. So i had him make me an additional one in case i had another moment of idiocy. Also had him make me another copy of my car key and program me another remote fob for backup. Great workmanship. Really nice guy, personable and trustworthy.
