The matched wines with the degustation are great too but if you're not careful they'll top you up and you'll wobble out of there squinting and swaying.

I bought this as a treat as normally I wouldn't be able to justify such an extravagant dinner. Whilst the food was excellent, this out such a damper on the evening and all the delight from the meal dissipated immediately. I guess I paid $60 for a $60 voucher as I really be able to use the rest. Overall just incredibly disappointing, sure I'll have to be more skeptical in future and this won't be an issue for everyone, but the overall experience has left me feeling this rating is deserved.

We ordered a set dinner, which has 6 courses per person, with several options for each course, as well as one wine/beer. I ordered the edamame, takoyaki, duck (main course) and matcha ice cream. On top of that, the set meal included miso soup and fried rice. I paid extra to upgrade my drink to a cocktail. The takoyaki was surprisingly good, and it came with 6 pieces, which was a generous portion. The duck breast seemed like a non-traditional choice but I like trying new things. It had a very nice flavour and was cooked well. The ice cream was a great end to the meal, it was creamy and the matcha taste was just right. My family ordered different dishes and I got to try some of them. The prawn tempura was pretty good. For the main dish, the lobster tail was really delicious. The wagyu beef was good too, although not as soft as I was hoping. The black sesame ice cream was also delicious. Overall, we had a really good time and left very satisfied. The portion sizes were larger than we expected and filled us up. Our chef, Nick, was delightful to watch and chat with. I'd definitely recommend coming here!

Tucked into a very awesome front looking yacht side of the walkers, Tomiko Japanese Steak House is definitely a sure spot to be at. With only 2 Teppanyaki Grill seating up to 8/9 people, you'll sure need to booking in advance. They have both a indoor and outdoor seating, elegantly decorated with transparent window sill to keep the cold night air out but promises to keep the view of the yacht decks and local river view displayed during your dine in. We did a walk-in and was seated immediately outdoors for a dinner setting, seating up to 6 people in our party. Unfortunately, we didn't book the Teppanyaki so we just opt to be outside. I did not see a heater unit as the weather in the summer is generally warm and cool, except for bizarre weather coming thru these days. They have a very generous selection of bottle beers, beer on tap, and unique cocktails, spirits and definitely a whole sleuth of wine selection from White to Reds. We ordered the Seafood Platter that came as pictured and it paired perfectly with my pint of fresh Sapporo Beer on tap and a glass of Cab Sauv from the hills of Adelaide. A few of our friends that were with us enjoyed their mains as much as we did. Customer service is top notch making sure you are happy and satisfied with your selection. The price is a bit on the high side as our dish alone was above the 100's. So if you're looking for something more affordable, you may want to reconsider other options. In the other hand, they have a great selection of shareable items that can possible give you the ideal meal or dinner. Recommending this establishment for those wanting to experience something different. Next time, we're going for the fresh cooking experience that is Teppanyaki.

We follow the traditional cooking method and cope with same standard as our Samurai Teppanyaki restaurant. The only philosophy we believe is that quality freshly cooked food is all you want for quick meal and also affordable. Like our Samurai Teppnayaki house, the concept was simply to create a convenient site that is mainly serving Okonomiyaki and Japanese snack selections, which are based on fresh cooking and traditional taste. What is Okonomiyaki? It is Japanese Pizza cooked on the grill. Our Samurai Okonomiyaki is based on lots of shredded cabbage with light crepe batter and topped with choice of bacon, chicken, seafood, beef and vegetable; finished with traditional Okonomiyaki sauce and Japanese mayonnaise and presented with shredded seaweed, bonito fish flake, red ginger and green onion. Okonomiyaki is your new option of healthy eating.

It's made with a variety of ingredients and you can choose your favourite version & add extra ingredients at will. I had a bacon onion Okonomiyaki with cheese. It was enjoyable. Slightly salty but not too salty, lovely and savoury, with a sweet BBQ sauce to complement the bacon & onion. There was an almost pickled or vinegary flavour in there, which I believe was from the carrot. It was an interesting sensation of flavours. Seaweed, carrot, egg, onion, bacon, flour pancake, & a few other things that I'm probably forgetting. You can also opt for a chicken Okonomiyaki, seafood, beef, veggie, or even have half n half of 2 different flavours. I think give this a go... Especially anyone who's adventurous or loves savoury. You can wash it down with a hot ginger tea, soft drink, or miso soup.

Not stellar, but at the same time, I didn't have any shouting matches with the staff. The menu is definitely a little all over the place, but I think that they manage to acheive something that seems to be difficult for Japanese restaurants - fairly low prices on most of the dishes. And the food is alright. I had a Teppanyaki beef, which I think is probably one of the more expensive items on the menu, and it was still less than $20.

This dark little Yakitori bar on Rundle St opened up quite a while ago now, but it hasn't exploded…read morethe way it might have, given its location and drinks+snacks concept. That said, this particular location seems to be cursed - a number businesses have failed in these premises in the last five years. Since Yakitore Rundle opened, I have been a few times - mostly for some drinks and food after going to the cinema. There is a nice outdoor seating area and big booths in the dimly lit red interior. There is cheesy cute fake fireplaces and red hanging lanterns. The menu is extensive and a little confusing with it's many sections: yakitori, lunch, sushi, grilled, fried, entree, mains, hand rolls, wok and pot dishes. The many different sections make it a little difficult to gauge how big a serving will be, and whether it is appropriate for a meal or for a snack. Some items are very reasonably priced and others less so. Most of the food I've had here has been good but nothing special and other things like the confusing menu and poor service mean I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends. If you do end up here I recommend having a look at the sake menu. Dishes I enjoyed - Korean Style Stewed Beef with Kimchi, baked salmon, and the Beef Sashimi with Sesame and Mustard seeds.

This restaurant is one to bookmark and is really worth going out of your way to check out. Especially to try Japanese Modern takes on breakfast all day. And then there is the Ramen menu..... wow! I can not wait to return to get my hands on a bowl. They have a menu that is pretty much build your own Ramen. After being handed the menu for breakfast, I had a real hard time trying to choose between the Matcha Pancakes and The Classic (with salmon). Although I adore pancakes, I had to go with something a little more traditional for my first time. Classic it was! This dish features Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Aji-Tama (Salted Soft Boiled Egg), sweet potato salad, with Yuzu Vinaigrette Pickled Veg, rice & miso. The dish itself looked really pretty, just check out the photos. Presentation is well thought out and planned. The salmon was cooked through with a salty and sweet sauce. It tasted similar to teriyaki sauce. The sweet potato salad was mixed in with other vegetables and a kewpie mayo style sauce. Worked so well with the salmon and rice. I really loved the egg as well, it was slightly salty and really gives depth to the dish. Wash this all down with miso & tofu and you have a really perfect breakfast. I was so impressed, I am really looking for any excuse to return. Keep on the look out for my updated review when I get my hands on some Ramen! OH YES!

The lovely Jun allowed us to utilise the entire space for our photography purpose. The warm and cosy contemporary interior provided a lovely backdrop for our morning lesson. Once coffee orders was placed and received, we got down to selecting our breakfast. I opted for the classic which had grilled salmon, served with sweet potato salad, miso and rice. Other dishes ordered include the tradition breakfast, salmon bagel and ramen pizza. My breakast was delicious! Nothing to fault here. I believe everyone else enjoyed theirs too from the positive feedback making its rounds. They have ramen noodles from 10am, which wasn't yet available to us being early birds. It just means I will have to come back! I highly recommend this place because you can see the quality and love put in to this place where the food including the sweets made in-house is equally tasty. The owners are clearly dog-lovers hence the name. A small picture frame can be seen of their black pooch on top of the sweets cabinet. This place is not very big, so come early, as it can fill up quickly.
