Walked into the store with at least six people working not one person greeted me hello or asked if I needed help with anything. Nobody was in the store either. I proceeded around the store with my daughter when she touched a balloon and the lady yelled at me with a very rude tone said can you not let your daughter do that in disgusting manner? Or maybe one second when my daughter touched the balloon so I did not see her do it and then stopped it right away of course. There was no reason for attitude towards me as a first-time customer or customer at general display definitely needs better customer service as not one single person there helped. I proceeded to leave as I wasn't going to give this business my money as I was planning on buying over 2000 balloons for a giant event that I will not be using this company. read more

Employees and owners were super rude!! I bought a balloon for my daughter's bday. They forgot to put a bag around the balloon when I purchased. The balloon literally popped in my car 10 minutes after buying. They blamed it all on me and wouldn't replace it. She told me "there should have been a bag around it." Even though they didn't put one around it. Made me pay 1/2 price for a new one bc "Helium was so expensive!" The $20 worth of balloons wasn't the issue. The issue was the customer service and the way they treated the customer. I'll never spend another dollar at this place and honestly dont think anyone else should either. read more

I have been in this place many times now and have experienced enough of the same things to where i feel that I should submit a review. Positives- great color selections of balloons and other party supplies. Lots of colors of various napkins, cups, etc. themed materials. The main problem with this store is the staff. Every time I have been in (I'd say probably 8 to 10 times), I have never been greeted when I walk in the door nor have I been asked if I need help. Several times I was the only person In the store. The staff is usually busy blowing up balloons but they can clearly see me walk in each time. Last week I walked around for twenty minutes and no one asked if I needed help. The staff was complaining to each other about how busy they were and mentioned it to several other customers while I was there. My mother in law went to pick something up for me recently and while one employee was helping her (after my MIL asked for it), a different employee told that employee to come back and help her and told my MIL that she couldn't blow up her balloons right now. I really love to support local business and this location and selection is good, but after having enough negative experiences with the staff I'm going to look elsewhere for party supplies. I hope the staff hires more help so they can accommodate customers who are willing to buy their products. read more

They even sell stuff you didn't realize you needed!!! I have disputed the $50.00 charge for the personalized balloon. I also expressed in the dispute I feel I should pay for the rest of the order. I am totally blown away with the merchants response. As I also expressed, I have been in retail where the customer is always right, PERIOD! They were more concerned about the staff time to imprint the balloon than the good will with the customer and the fact they will never have my business again. I will take every opportunity to let people know how I was treated. Is that worth a $50.00 charge to the merchant that really cost them a 10 cent balloon and one hour of labor if that's what it took to imprint? read more

A great little mom and pop party store, this place beats the Party Citys of the world by a long shot. It's not fancy, actually it's in a pretty old building and probably hasn't had an interior update in over 20 years, but it has the product you need. And you don't have to go through aisle over aisle of ridiculous Halloween goods in the middle of March to get to them! This is one of the first places I stop when shopping for any kind of party goods. I mainly buy solid color paper plates, napkins, cups and gift bags here, because they have a great selection and they are cheap. If you need theme stuff though, they have plenty of that too! They have most of what a larger "big box" retailer would have, as well as some more unique items too. The sales people are nice and helpful and quick to get you what you need, and the store isn't huge so everything is easy to find. Stop by next time you need 15 sombreros or a pirate sword or Hannah Montana napkins. They've got it all. read more

Any holiday you can think of (Mardi Gras, St. Patty's Day, Valentine's Day, 4th of July) Shindig has great party supplies to accompany it. It goes far beyond paper plates and napkins into masks, door prizes, playing cards, singing thingies (where you mash some mysterious button and Elvis sings) to appropriate party favors for a child's birthday party. I went in looking for a seasonal item they always carry. I was informed by the owner, as she was walking away from me, that those items were still in the box. I finally planned a housewarming shindig at my new condo and needed some party supplies. Why drive all the way to Nashville West or even, unthinkably, Cool Springs, when you can just go to Shindigs and Celebrations right down the street from my new condo? You shouldn't! This place is right off Hillsboro road in the heart of Green Hills. Even from the outside it looks retro and the inside definitely is a bit old skooool. But hey, I can dig it. They do have some parking spots out front - not sure where to park if those are full. But they weren't, so it was easy. Out front they had some sale items on a table. Be sure to peruse it to see if anything strikes your fancy. Inside they have all your party goods. Every theme you can think of is represented. Well, every theme except housewarming...although who would really buy that? They had NASCAR themed stuff complete with a checkered flag centerpiece. Not gonna lie - I want to have a Daytona 500 watching party just to buy those. They also have tons and tons of plain plates, napkins, dinnerware, table cloths, and everything else in every color under the sun. Round plates, square plates, plastic plates, everything. In the back they also have strands of lights, disco balls, and other things you might need for a superfly party. Even a selection of kids prizes for those birthday parties where everyone gets a present. And the best thing is all this stuff is reasonably priced. Next time you are having a party you should DEFINITELY check Shindigs and Celebrations out! They have the right stuff at the right price and it is right in the 'hood. i was born & raised in nashville but somehow have never been here until my 30th birthday. i inquired about their large foil numbered balloons for my 30th birthday and the staff was very helpful. they said they could blow them up the day before i needed to pick them up to make sure there weren't any holes and all held up well. i wanted 3 colorful balloons for my entrance and they helped me make a selection that color coordinated with my fiesta themed happy hour. the small balloons lasted over a few days and the gold foil are still going strong. the 0 started to deflate a tiny bit within 24 hours but it wasn't super noticeable at my party. read more

I've been a fan of this store for years... especially back when Nashville had a Harding Mall at they were in it. Newbies won't get that, but us old timers will. This is one of my "go to" spots for larger parties... people are amazed at the perfect napkins and coordinating decor I always have, and this is why. Back in the day at their original location, they had aisles of Caspari plates and coordinating napkins... oh, this gal was in heaven! In their new, older building, slightly smaller space, they have one aisle of Caspari and an aisle of solid color disposables, which means you can usually work something great out. They have nice selections of adult birthday themes, showers, etc. as well. Above average selection of boxed invites as well, second only to Kati's in Belle Meade in my opinion. I know that Party City does, too. And often, I may buy some of my supplies here and some at the chain.. but I always start here because I want to support small business whenever I can. This is a hidden gem in Green Hills. I was needing some supplies for Cinco De Mayo and was having a terrible time finding anything at a reasonable price. Shindigs is the way to go. They are very reasonable, especially compared to Party City and other chains. Plus they have a lot to choose from! Any celebration or party type is covered. Let me just say not only did they accommodate my request but they also helped me make sure I had the right colors & did not let me leave without showing me exactly how to set up the cute mini balloons!
