Straightforward pub, fairly standard pub food. Perfectly OK, nothing special but nothing to complain about.

Having visited the sloop on many many occasions my family snd I have never had a decent meal…read more.. We keep hoping it improves, but we are always dissapointed. We have had countless family occasions and gatherings here, mainly because of it's great interior, history and the stunning environment. However, as an example I decided to take some friends out to dinner here after avoiding the place for 2 years. I had hoped the service snd food would be of higher quality..how wrong I was to have expected a change. I ordered a veggy burger as a change from my usual fish dish, my friends opted for plaice, the angry dog burger and cod & chips. My burger was just a sloppy slushy tepid mess, my chips were even colder. The dishes were slapped onto the table by a grumpy young waitress without any words or a smile, I was appauled at how bad it was and was really embarassed that my friends were experiencing the worse food and service they had ever come across..at one point we all looked at each other and laughed in disbelief because it was just unbeleivably bad! I never ever send food back or complain, but on this occassion I had no choice. I asked the waitress very politely if my chips could be warmed up, without a word she snatched my plate and stormed off..awful. Eventually she flounced back, slapped plate onto table and walked away. I have been a waitress and I would never treat diners, or anyone for that matter, like that. It wasn't busy and there were plenty of staff. My friends dishes were also cold and bland. For the prices and provenance of the sloop you'd expect food, portions and service to match! It's not a one off experience, this type of service, small portion, cold food has happened more than I care to remember and unfortunately myself,my family and friends have decided not to spend a penny more there which is a shame as we live nearby and would love to spend time celebrating family occasions inside it's great interior. I wish I'd never parted with my money on that night, I should have complained to the management, but all of us just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. Come on Sloop management, train your staff correctly and keep a very close eye on food before it leaves the pass..basic stuff!

A bit out of the way but well worth the drive through rural Pembrokeshire. Does get very busy during summer which just goes to show how popular this little place has become!!!!!

The Ferry Inn is a very popular gastropub in an enviable position on the River Teifi. (The views…read moreare fantastic.) It has a cosy bar area, three inside eating areas with river views, two outside eating areas and a terrace to really enjoy the view. They are happy to accommodate diners with dogs (there are also dog-free areas) and it's very child-friendly (there's a children's menu, and some tables seat eight). The menu offers starters at £7.50-£7.95, mains around £18 (except fish and seafood at £24 and steak at £29), desserts at £7.50, as well as a choice of ice creams and sorbets (£3.50-£7.50). They offer a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. We chose Sea Bass served with Lemon Parsley Caper Butter, Herb Roasted New Potatoes, Garden Salad with Buckwheat & Broad Beans with Honey Mustard Sauce & New Leaf Microgreens (£24); and the one of the vegetarian options: Glamorgan Crumble a tower of Leeks, Carrot, Breadcrumbs & Mature Cheddar Cheese, Garlic & Herb Roasted New Potatoes, Glebelands Salad, Quinoa, Bean, Vegetable Salad & Fresh Herb White Sauce (£19.95). We followed this with Dark Cherry & Marzipan Bake Vanilla Ice Cream £7.50. Overall, the food was very good, except that the seabass was (disappointingly) over done and therefore falling apart. I always think it's a little odd serving a cold side salad on the side (or in my case underneath) a hot dish, although overall the flavours did work well together. The Glamorgan Crumble was very tasty. Service was a little manic: some staff seemed to run around all evening, and we were served by four different people during the evening. (One was very nice, two were a bit brusque.) They were busy, but we had booked (and were expecting) a table in the downstairs area with a river view, but were shown to a different part of the restaurant area. There were, however, a number of reserved tables which remained empty through the evening, so it seems like they had a few no-shows. Overall we had a nice evening: with two glasses of wine, the bill came to £75 for two, excluding service. It's firmly worth four stars, and of course you're paying for the location, but at these prices, getting the fish right and calmer service would land a five.

You'll have a real task on your hands finding this place. If you don't have a sat nav you'd better…read morebe proficient with a map !! This is a small pub - no food (the usual crisps/nuts/etc). But boy do they do beer. There are usually two or three real ales a small selection of spirits (all the usual culprits) a lager or two (for those sad persons who feel the need) and of course Guinness. One or two cracking single Malts There is a pool table (in great condition) and a dart board. The gents toilets are CLEAN with real towels!!! My wife says the ladies is just as good. The beer is ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, in first class condition. The pub is peopled by locals and the occasional holiday maker who found it by complete accident. The locals (many of whom speak Welsh as a Mother Tongue) are always unfailingly welcoming and helpful. If you're a broken down holiday maker and the guys in the bar can't fix it - they'll know a man who can. They'll tell you all the GOOD places to go and all the bad places to avoid and - give them time - they'll get you to fall in love with it too. The landlord is a Londoner (!!) who happened on the place by accident and LITERALLY never left - He bought the place. No anti-english feeling here, and I should know - I'm a local (when I'm home). This pub is what a village pub always was and now never is - the centre of the little village in which it thrives. They organise the street parties, all the local darts, pool, Guy Fawkes Nights Summer Bar-B-Qs etc etc.. If you want to know where to eat ask here, know where to fish - ask here, any local information at all - ask here. Only open after about 5pm but this varies! You have been warned. Dogs VERY welcome The name ? Little Guest House. Visit this pub - I challenge you not to fall in Love.
