I am a local who comes here frequently and guess why? Because of the fresh, abundant produce, friendly staff and wonderful seasonal decorations. This morning I dropped by to get my "early fall haul" which consists of pumpkins and chrysanthemums. The outdoor staff helped me pick out some good flowers and the pumpkins were robust. So glad this nursery is here in the outskirts of this cute historic town. Plants always fresh and healthy. Produce always tasty and normally local. They discount aging fruits, so there is opportunity to get food deals. Peaches are so good and you can buy by the basket or loose. There is an amazing freezer case filled near the register filled with homemade popsicle offering some great flavor options. They are a tad expensive at 3.00 a pop and worth ever penny. Then bring lots of items from spring to fall. Shop Local! They do not have a lots of garden pots, but maybe I was just late to shop for those. Really a nice spot to shop for flowers and produce. read more

We have a neighbor who just celebrated her 80 something birthday. She's a fantastic lady with a plethora of cool stories to tell and an easy smile. She's lived a long time and collected many "things" over the years. We debated the gift issue for a couple of days and settled on a gift that keeps on giving. Trees! Fruit trees! Peach trees! You see, between her property and ours, there are plum trees, cherry trees, black walnut trees, an apple tree or two, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries. Hell, there's even an aggressive vineyard. Alas, no peaches. And off we went to Shireman's. We found a couple of "patio" peach trees (translation: short and quick yielding) at a great price. While we were there, we picked up a basket of peaches. Our lovely neighbor deftly turned those into a delectable cobbler. Those trees are now taking root in her back yard. We're looking forward to more cobbler. read more

Stopped for some of their advertised homemade peach ice cream. Much to my dismay, they longer carry it. Then they should take down all of their signs that advertise it. The gal said they haven't carried it for 4 years!! False advertising much?! read more

This place is stock full of incredibly rude people and overpriced food. In fact they tried to tow a woman's truck for parking in their lot, because her autistic grandson was freaking out due to the crowd at mcdonalds, and threatened to fine her 5000 dollars. It's their lot, and they can legally do whatever they want, but it shows what kind of man the owner is, and I wouldn't give him a penny. read more

They were such big babies about making sure no one parked in their parking lot and walked to McDonald's after shopping for fruit and built a wall. I quit shopping here after that and go to the Farmer's market downtown. The customer service sucks as well. read more

I am not big on sweets but the home made peach ice cream is amazing. You have to try it. Love that this farmer's market is family run. Although I didn't purchase any produce, I did stroll through and look at it. All looked fresh and tasty. It was all very reasonably priced compared to many farmer's markets I've been to which seem to overcharge. read more

I have been a customer of Shireman's Farm Market for many years, buying everything from fruit and vegetables to honey. I find myself stopping by Shireman's every time I am in the area to get some delicious peach ice cream. They also occasionally have homemade banana ice cream! read more

It's hard for me to even give Shireman's one star. We walked in Saturday evening around 7:30 (they closed at 8) in which we were greeted with very cold looks. Based on the looks we were given we asked if they were closed, the woman proceeded to tell us that they were open until 8:00, and we had 15 minutes. We then went about and collected our pumpkins, bananas and apples. My 8 year old daughter wanted to try the peach ice cream, but when I asked where the peach ice cream was located the woman (again very coldly) pointed us over to the far end of the store. At this point I could not bite my younger any longer with the obvious distaste this woman showed for us, and I asked if we were bothering her based on how she was treating us. She didn't even acknowledge the question. I decided to put back all of the produce I was going to purchase, as I did not want to give my money to somebody that was treating us so rudely and not even hiding it. My daughter still asked for the peach ice cream and during the cold transaction my daughter looked at the woman and asked if this is how she treats all of her customers. I am sorry to say that this woman and the way she blatantly treated her customers reflects negatively on Shireman's read more

I make a trip or two just to get the fresh ripe fruit and vegetables every year and we travel over 3 hours to get there. The place is so very friendly and helpful. We cant lift very much but we got a bushel of apples and potatoes and they were happy to help us and even asked if they could carry everything to the car for us. The produce was very nice but they should be charged with false advertising for their fresh peach ice cream. I found no hint of peach in their soft serve peach ice cream.
