We're city folks, so this was all new and fun for us. My son practically fell in love with the cowboy hats and found several items he liked. Unfortunately the visit went downhill because we were made to feel watched the entire time. From the moment we walked in I noticed staff watching our every move. I didn't say anything because I wanted my son to enjoy browsing, but the attention didn't stop. When my son picked up a shirt he liked he suddenly got uncomfortable and said, "Let's get out of here." I saw the same thing , staff focused on us again and again. We left without buying anything. It's a shame because the store and the products deserve a chance, but being treated like potential shoplifters ruined the experience. I hope management takes customer experience seriously and trains staff to welcome shoppers rather than surveil them.

To ritzy and too glamorous for the Town of Lake Placid, I said. Nothing negative about the establishment - I just thought, well - it's Lake Placid. Nothing survives long in Lake Placid. I was wrong. Amber Louise Boutique survived and outlasted several different coffee and ice cream shops in the very same Plaza. Kate reminded me of this when visiting Lake Placid last night with her little sister Rebecca. Owing a house here since 2002 - and in town for an event - we visited this quaint little boutique once again. Kate even signed up for a rewards card. Women's clothes, jewelry, accessories and a bunch of stuff for anyone else but me, my 6 and 11 year old didn't have a problem spending money. After all, it's Christmas and the kids are purchasing gifts for themselves and their mother. It didn't hurt that wine was being served with Christmas cookies for a "downtown Friday" type holiday shopping event. Great job and cute little boutique, Amber Louise. Unfortunately we did arrive later in the evening so there wasn't much of a selection left to choose from. The value of the items were good got some black crocs. Went to checkout and the cashier was complaining how she dislikes kids and back to school since so many kids are coming in. I just stare at her while I have both of my kids with me personally I feel like she definitely shouldn't be telling her customers that even though my kids are older doesn't mean they didn't use to be a handful when they were toddlers.
