My husband and I picked up some home decor items that were made in Japan, including a well-crafted food tray with a rabbit theme that perfectly goes with our living room decor. I picked up some stuffed animals for our niece and nephew, as well as a unique tea set for my aunt. There are plenty of other interesting things that caught our attention, including a friendly cat that wanders about the store and never goes out the door. I brought in my vintage wedding set for sizing (that was a huge mess because of 2 different…read moreprevious jewelers). I really didn't think it could be fixed but I was wrong. This was my grandmother's originally and is nearly 70 years old. The prongs were blobs of gold barely holding in the diamonds, the rings were soldered together crooked & it was slightly too small. I can't overstate how PERFECT my wedding set came back. The jeweler made them look literally brand new. I'm blown away by the excellence of the work done on them. He also sized my newer engagement ring after another jeweler had sized it way too big. It also looks brand new again. I want to mention that all 3 shanks on these rings have a lot more gold than when I brought them. That is something that I have *never* had happen w/ other jewelers before. The price for all 3 rings was around $260. I paid almost $200 to get my newer engagement ring sized ONLY (and it was the wrong size!) by a different jeweler in Grass Valley who shall not be named but beware of the "S" jeweler in GV. I had a quote to fix only the prongs on the vintage set & it was $75 per crown, which would have been $600. I wasn't even charged separately for the prong repair by Utopian Stone. Also, Diane (co owner) and I talked for a long time while she checked out a ring I wanted looked at, and she showed me all kinds of great stones and jewelry. We had a great time & I really enjoyed our convo. They are the best in Nevada County hands down. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you for fixing my rings! I haven't been able to wear the wedding set for over 10 years, and I'm thrilled. I cannot say enough about the quality of this work. I will be back!!

Two years ago I needed a small 4 or 5 drawer dresser, nothing fancy, to be used in my home workshop, for various tools, etc. I walked in and within 2 minutes found the very thing I was looking for, and for a price that was quite reasonable. After two years, I decided that the workshop needed a wider look, with more space for everything, and that the tools and other items I kept in the drawers, needed to be seen so I didn't have to hunt for something. So, I removed the things in the drawer, put the small dresser in my car, and took it back to Sweet Life Thrift. Carolyn Maginot is the owner, and was most gracious to accept the dresser to resell. The shop is small but has lots of rooms of men and womens' clothes, nicknacks, hats, and more, that would tickle anyone's fancy (small furniture pieces, jewelry, antiques, etc.. The parking lot is just up the corner on the right from East Main street and Hughes Rd. She has a sign up every day it is open.
