They don't have a permanent collection but offer rotating exhibits (information regarding upcoming shows can be found on their website). It's obviously subjective depending on whether you find the artist-on-view interesting or not. But who can possibly complain with no entry fees? I was lucky enough to catch David Kassan's Facing Survival exhibit (oil portraits of Holocaust survivors). It was an excellent show that included survivor testimonials. It's a quick stop due to the museum's small size but you have the Natural History Museum across the street (free for LA County residents after 3pm on weekdays; free days available for other visitors). The Rose Garden and the Science Center are also nearby so you can do a combo.

Casa De La Cultura is located within a plaza and the night I went there, there was so much life. Aside from a bunch of people socializing outside the gallery there were kids playing and men dressed in mariachi costumes all over the plaza. I get it why they call it Mariachi Plaza. The gallery itself is a good size, medium. There was a lot of people at the opening so it was very warm inside. They had a DJ booth, playing good music and there were also some B-girls dressed as Sand Chikz. Sand One's art was amazing and so inspiring! There is residential parking around the plaza and I am not too sure if there is a parking lot. The 101 freeway is near by or you can take 1st street all the way and you'll hit Mariachi Plaza. Overall, this gallery wasn't too bad. I definitely have to check this place out during its normal hours. There are restaurants and other stores next to the gallery also, which is a plus!

Came here for the Ryoko Kui "Dungeon Meshi: Delicious in Dungeon" pop up. I do a panel at anime…read moreconventions called "Food Reviewing Dungeon Meshi" where I analyze and review the dungeon floors from the series along with the monsters and dishes they cook, then give real life recommendations to where you can find these dishes in SoCal, so I HAD TO GO HERE. And you know, bring my past Yelpies awards so I can do what my boyfriend calls, "grosshikatsu". We got tickets beforehand online via Eventbrite. I suppose for more busier days, you have a time slot you book and enter. By the time we went, they were sadly already out of commemorative dishes. Also unfortunately, I had no idea that they had a stamp rally with Kinokuniya (would have been nice if there were signs or it was much more publicized -- actually, even when we went to Kino after, they were already out of the stamp cards), but after the kindness of the staff and some convincing and us dying from the heat, they understood our situation. Parking is awful as many such Little Tokyo cases are, but even more so during the weekend and during some events going on in the area, so either be ready to circle around or pay up and make the walking journey here. Getting in is easy, staff scan your QR code ticket and you get a free random post card. One side of the gallery was Ryoko Kui's other works with art drafts, sketches, some translated manga panels, information and background to her works, very nice if you're not familiar with her doujinshi or works outside of Dungeon Meshi. The other side of the gallery was all Dungeon Meshi. You are not allowed to take or record photos of the TV's showing the anime, but everything else seemed to be fair game. The gallery showed various art from scenes in the series and other standalone art of the characters in the world of Dungeon Meshi, the original and final cover art for the manga volumes, a written interview with Ryoko Kui, and much more. Afterwards was the real treat of the visit, all of the photo ops from the animated series, including replicas of the dishes from the series as well as the information of the monsters that were used for the said dishes. PERFECT MATERIAL FOR MY PANEL MIND YOU. Great for photo ops, I loved the color, attention to detail, the 3D aspects of seeing the dishes in front of you, and the detailed back drop and information for the dishes too (like floor 1 hot pot having the scorpion and mushroom cut outs), seeing the walking armor, love the frog photo op and much more. It only covers season 1 of the anime, but, again, perfect for the panel that I host and makes me even more excited for season 2. After the photo op area, there are some cut outs and food models for the concept art of the exhibit itself. Crazy to see that I'm taller than Marcille and my height in comparison to the main cast. Then of course, there's the gift shop at the end. Bonus goods if you spend more than $25, if you share on SNS, and sadly, of course things were already sold out. Solid visit and worth going out of our way to visit (I mean we're obviously otaku too, so kill 2 birds 1 stone in Little Tokyo), and definitely if you are a fan of the series, a foodie, or BOTH like me! NOTE: Since the pop up is in the summer, it gets SUPER hot in this art space. I don't think there's really strong AC in here so lots of fans on the ground and you will get warm. RIP to the cosplayers I saw here.

After the Grammy Museum which is in the Staples-Crypto Center/LA Live area that kick started the renovation of part of downtown after the theaters at the Music Center, I drove over to Art Share LA, an art gallery, theater and communal housing for artists. They had an exhibit of various artists working in the entertainment industry for Disney, Star Wars and other related animation work. When I walked in I really thought there was someone playing piano. Great space to enjoy art emerging artists.

Fireworks night done right…read more Amazing spot for fireworks with friends and family. Tons of space, but plan to arrive early because it fills up quickly. Bring blankets as it gets cold in the evening pretty fast and toys for the kids to engage if you have small kids. Pro tips: Street parking only + there's a food truck across from the viewing area.

Formerly known as the Torrance Multi-Use Complex, its new name is because of the partnership of the city with the LA Galaxy. Large, spacious and clean; I've found this to be the perfect spot for large city events and celebrations. There is plenty of room for a stage, booths and food trucks. Parking is all street parking - so folks do need to show up early.

Full of rich history!…read more Oh my goodness. The Disney Gallery is everything. The entire back story of Walt and the areas/ lands in Disney. It was super cool to see, read, and learn about! One of the rooms has an artist doing sketches right there. So you can watch the magic happen! How cool is that?! I loved seeing the art throughout and the sketching room. The Disney Gallery is awesome! It is located at Main Street USA, at Disneyland Park. If you have the time, and want to learn about the backstory- this is a must see!!

This gallery is filled with a diverse collection of art, a well-rounded collection. The speak easy is underground, and its a great little spot. There are seperate areas to play dominos or chill or shake your booty. Make sure you wear close to nothing because it can get hot, there is a cash only bar& most of the time you can "smoke" as well. I definitely try to make this place a tuesday night routine.

I've been here twice for 2 art shows: **POPCade!** Came on opening night and it was a great turnout. This show centered around videogames and there was a ton of great artists that contributed to the show. The most memorable was the BioShocker which was the Operations Game remade into the style of BioShock. It was so much fun playing it! I managed to remove all the pieces without getting shocked, and then I shocked myself deliberately to test. And yes it was a bit intense! **Moon Crisis** For this Sailor Moon themed show, I didn't attend on opening night because I knew it would be VERY popular. From the photos, there was even a line that wrapped around the corner! I viewed it on their special Sunday time, which was more leisurely. Again, top caliber artists that contributed to the show, like Glenn Arthur and Ann Marcellino. There was even an arcade cabinet! :) I overhead that there will be a Miyazaki-themed show sometime in the fall so I'm EXTREMELY excited to see that :) Parking is nearby street or walk a bit further from the parking structure. As far as I know they're only open on Saturdays from 12-5 PM so double-check before you go!

Wow this place is small! Came by here last Saturday with my husband for the Moon Crisis Sailor Moon…read moretribute (for free). I remember watching Sailor Moon when I was in jr. high and elementary school (yep, I'm pretty old) and so when I found out about this art tribute, I just had to go and of course I dragged my husband with me (gotta love him for coming). None of the previous reviews for this little art place mentioned that it was small, so I was surprised it was on the small side. But nonetheless, it was still a pretty cool place to check out whatever featured art is on display. I love all of the different interpretations and renditions of what ever the artists made of the loved Japanese anime, but of course I still prefer the classic look of Sailor Moon and wished I would see more of the artist work of that. Since we were not the only ones who wanted to come to this opening night's art tribute, we waited in line for quite a while. The line was around the building and then some, but still worth the wait to get in. There were also vendor tables outside of the art house selling copies of their art work and other cute Sailor Moon related items. Overall, really enjoyed myself and would come back here for another featured art exhibit that would peak my interest (which is great this place does not charge admission to check out their exhibits). By the way, this place is located in the Downtown Anaheim, Center Street Promenade. Specifically, this place is located right next to PokiNometry. There is some street parking on Harbor Blvd and also a structure that is a few blocks down.
