It's always difficult to imagine needing more water but it happens fast. Ralph Hall has been talked about for decades and it's finally here! Unimaginable, really when you think about it. There is only one natural lake in Texas. That's Caddo Lake, that sits on the Louisiana/Texas border. The rest are all man made. Now that's hard to believe for a state this size but,true. Last week I cruised up to take a look at the area the water will be filling. Unfortunately it's beautiful ranch and farm land. A natural little valley that generations have toiled raising crops and animals. Some significant fossils have been found here. The Perot museum in Dallas holds a fossilized 50 million year old sea turtle found in this area. While seeing this process creates mixed feelings,it's a necessary evil for our civilization. However, the river bed is what you want in this case. The area is littered with fossils from 50 million years ago and older! I found this river bed 35 years ago before anyone came here. After some significant discoveries over the years, quite a few people come for a pleasant outing. Not far away was discovered the ancient petrified sea turtle that now hangs in the Perot museum in downtown Dallas. If you have seen it then you probably just said Wow! That came from here? Yes. In addition, the new lake thats being built will flood this area so, there is no time to waste. It deserves at least one trip out here! Good hunting!

Not sure what is causing this kind of turn over in such a short time period. This use to be a great place for kids but it seems to be going down hill fast. Very disappointing! *Yes please seek the truth! Talk to the coaches about how they were treated and what brought them to make the decision to leave. Talk to parents and ask them for feedback. There are 2 sides to every story! Myself and several other parents dropped our children from a particular program because the coach who is said to have made missteps was leaving and for good reason. We all supported her in her decision and we still support her. She loved our babies and gave us reassurance that they were safe and truly cherished! They lost a great asset losing her! You won't change my mind!
