What a great place for awesome food and wonderful service! My husband booked a small banquet following a golf outing, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. After him raving about it, we went for early dinner a few days later. My husband told Matt (the owner) how much everyone enjoyed the outing, and he passed the compliments on to the chef (Chris) I was totally impressed! I loved the fish sandwich, and my husband's burger looked wonderful. Took my mom there a few days later. Chris came out to chat with us and let us know how much he appreciated the compliments. This is a fairly large and open bar. Good prices for drinks and free popcorn. I didn't have any food but the menu looked decent with reasonable prices. They have games and a large patio. Music bingo on Tuesday nights 7-9. Ordered appetizers of the sampler platter And pretzel bites. The fried mushrooms and onion rings were really good. It was around noon on Tuesday and I had just checked in to a hotel across the street. I was craving a sandwich and a cold beer. This place was recommended so one minute later I was sitting at the bar. One minute after that the friendly bartender plunked a frosty one in front of me. One more minute and I ordered a "Club Wrap" with seasoned fries. Five minutes and it was in front of me and delicious. The wrap itself was fresh and it was stuffed with tasty club ingredients. Stopped by Shooter's Lounge Friday night with my co-workers after our annual Christmas dinner. There were about 12 of us who all had the same complaints about our experience. I'll start with the good. The live music was excellent and the singer was very friendly. He stopped by a few times to chat it up with our group. The bad: The entire bar reeked of skunk (aka-a not so legal substance). Each time someone walked in the bar, it was the first thing they said. It was very obvious that someone was smoking there. The smell was so strong it was almost comical that none of the employees did anything about it. My clothes certainly smelled when I left. Also, the service was lacking when taking drink orders at our table. Waitresses were far and few between and seemed impatient when they were present. Overall, there are so many more quality bars to go to in town. I will pass on this one. read more

Dive bar. Been here at least 3 times a week for the last 12 months. I love playing pool and cheap drinks which makes this place perfect for me. The door man Gerald runs a tight ship so don't think you can go there and get rowdy because he ain't having it. Food is ok. If you're at a wedding at Eastland Suites its a just across the street so you can let the party go a little longer. Ps. They won't let you in if you show up with any type of cup(coffee). Even if you're their patron of the year. And that's a 24hr ban. Not to mention the rules say: no ball caps, ripped or baggy jeans, white tanks, or bandanas. You will for real NEVER forget a visit to Shooter's Lounge on a Friday night. Let me give you a brief run down: 4:30-7ish= State Farm Happy Hour. There is a free nacho bar (they certainly don't publicize it...but it's there and it's GOOD) from 5:15-7:15 and buckets of domestic bottles are $13.50...not super cheap but not Chicago priced either. After 9:00 it's ON in there. I don't like to use the word "freakshow" when speaking about my own fellow human beings, but it's the only word that I can find. You will see every kind of person imaginable and people you didn't know exist. You'll most certainly find yourself texting your friends saying "you have to get up here right now and see this". On the other hand, everyone needs to have somewhere to have fun and I'm not going to fault anyone at Shooter's for having a good time after a long week. Around 10 the dance floor (picture a horrid wedding reception and you've got it) gets HOT and you will see ass shaking that is second to none. During the week (especially during the summer) Shooters can be a nice place to have a beer after work but on Friday night (Saturday too) the people watching is second to none and you can't pay for better entertainment. This is an all age kind of place. Blue collar dive bar kind of joint Plenty to do here as well. They have a while room of pool tables and a wall of at least 7 dart boards. Then even have a handful of slot machines that pay out legitimately. Golden Tee game and some video game with lawn darts and baggo on video. Old but kind of cool I guess. Watch out on karaoke nights as the regulars think they can actually song, but most of them suck. Overall, good place for folks in their 30's and 40's to enjoy themselves. read more

I spend a lot of time in Bloomington for training. I'm pretty sure I have hit every bar up for food and by far this has been the best. We come to this bar at least 4 out of 7 days. Sitting here right now STILL waiting for our check.....40 + minutes later. We were here for trivia like usual, and they are severely understaffed. We barely got drinks tonight, and trivia lasts 2 hours. This isn't the first time this has happened, in fact it's frequent. The trivia is what keeps us coming back, but not any longer. This place is the worst bar/pool shooting place I have ever been. A friend of mine was turned away from this bar because she was wearing salmon colored pants... Turkey sammich that'll make yo tongue slap yo brains out!

The bar itself isn't bad but the staff is less desirable. They ignore you at the bar unless you are a regular (they wait on them first). They make eye contact, see you just walked in and have no drink yet still walk away to wash glasses and do other things and wonder why you are angry with them and don't tip. As they walk through the bar and you're standing in the way, they huff and puff like they're bothered. The door guy was the most polite person in the place. Greeted us before we got to the door, opened the door for us, carded us, and had a conversation with us as well. I would recommend having drinks at another place with friendlier staff. read more

The place is okay on the whole, but the dress code is idiotic. I'm wearing a nice jogging suit (after jogging earlier in the day, so I'm not sweating or anything) and they wouldn't let me in. I just moved to Bloomington from Louisiana a month ago, and I don't know many people. So I was very excited for my cousin to be in town visiting. So we decide we will try out this pool hall I'd heard about Shooter's. My cousin is wearing sweatpants, and hadn't brought any other types of pants. They let us in anyway, I'm assuming they didn't notice her attire. We payed for pool, opened a tab, and each bought a drink. Had a great time for about 15 minutes before the manager noticed and sent some guy to tell us that she needed to go home and change. We told him she didn't have a change of clothes, and after making a big deal about it they decided to let us stay, but made it clear we were not to walk over to the outside patio. So we payed for our hour of pool after 15 minutes, closed our tabs, and these snobs will never see my business again. Side note, there was a cracked out looking chick with skin tight yoga pants riding up her crack right next to us, they had no problem with the way she was dressed. So who really knows what's acceptable for this ridiculous dress code. read more

This place is headed downhill. Went to happy hour with a group a friends. The waitress took the first drink order. The waitress then took another drink order from another friend that showed up, didn't even ask if my spouse or I needed anything. Another friend shows up, she takes a drink order and doesn't ask if anyone else wants anything? While she is leaving, I ask if I can put in a food order and she says give me 5 minutes? Mind you the bar and "grill" is not even close to being crowded at this point. Maybe 20 people are sitting at tables and 6 of them are our group. The second issue was with the bartender. I go to the bar because I hadn't been able to locate our waitress for at least 20 minutes. I order 5 drinks. I give him cash. He makes the drinks and he doesn't give me a tray or anything to take them back to my table, so I take 3 back while he is cashing the $20 and bill is 17.50. I come back to the bar and the bartender has taken the cash and left no change. I planned on tipping him most of the change, but it seemed very rude and unethical to take all of the change without asking me first. The last strange involved the waitress which did not have prompt service for us all night, had to be tracked down first just to get our check. We then got our checks and filled out our tips. Waitress then came back faster than she did all night to pick up our checks. This also seemed very unethical. Usually a waitress waits until the party is gone before picking up the checks. Also, if she was getting off her shift soon, I would have had no problem closing my tab early if she would have had asked. read more

Ate here a couple of times, including one night of shooting pool and dining. The food is average bar food. The appetizer of pepperjack cheese pops were really good (it kind of saved the night), but the service was extremely slow and inattentive (and we were one of only two tables that had patrons.) The food was nothing different or extraordinary, and the beer selection is the usual Miller's or A-B. If you want a night of pool and grabbing some food with - definitely thumbs up, it's a fun night. For dining - it's pedestrian. Tab for two dinners, appetizer and a couple of beers was $30. read more

Tonight I went there to celebrate a friends bachlorette party and we were wrongfully kicked out of the bar!! We were supposedly getting kicked out because the bachlorette slipped and fell on the dance floor because of some water they failed to notice and we were told we had to leave. Our server was very snoty and rude towards the end of the night and one of the bouncers wrongfully put his hands on one of my friends, it was a horrible experience and I will never be visiting there again!!!! read more
