This Shoppers Drug Mart store is nice and clean and has a nice cosmetics and perfume section. The cosmetics and perfume section has a variety of good products and shampoo and skin care aisle have a variety of options to choose from. This is the pharmacy that I usually go to, and they always do a great job. However, I was in during the Labour Day long weekend, when they usually have less experienced pharmacists covering for the more knowledgeable and experienced ones. On this particular occasion, it was about 03:30 on the morning of 09.04.2022. The usual time that I go there to receive my Methadone doses--which I take for chronic back pain. Unfortunately, and to my horror, there was an issue with the dispenser, and was asked if I could come back at around 08:00/08:30 when, hopefully, there'd be someone there that could better handle the issue. But to me, that was tantamount to saying, 'Do you mind being tortured for about 5 hours until the problem is addressed?' The reason why I felt this way is because the pain I have to endure on a daily basis is so severe that it wakes me up in the middle of the night, EVERY NIGHT. And, I have to have my dose split in order for me to just make it through the day. So, it's not unfounded that I felt this way. Not only was I not going to get any sleep if I didn't receive my normal dose at the normal time, it would affect my entire morning by having to wait until someone could, "hopefully" fix the problem. Plus, after being on Methadone in order to manage my pain for several years now, there was no doubt that I'd likely have to suffer through withdrawals as well by not getting my normal dose at the normal time. However, the story gets much better. After seeing and understanding the turmoil I was about to face, the pharmacist did an exemplary job in troubleshooting the issue. Thus, in doing so, she was able to relieve me of, what would've been an insidiously painful and torturous morning. Therefore, I'm obliged to write about how thankful I was for such a dynamic and extremely commendable job she was able to perform for me. The only regret I have is not getting her name so that I'd be able to write about her personally, and to let her know exactly how much her actions meant to me at the time. read more

Having lived in the neighbourhood for over 20 years, what has become of this particular location over the last 2 years is sad, and I am committed to never setting foot in it ever again. The employees used to be so nice and helpful. Now, they are all disinterested and rude with zero interest in customer service. Multiple times, problems arise with their credt/debit card tap device, and yet despite this, they always blame the customer for having a faulty card, until after trying a few terminals, one finally works - and yet no apology ever. At other nearby locations, employees speak of this location being famous for poor customer service and rude employees. After my experience of rudeness and poor service yet again today, enough is enough. read more

been there 3 times to pick up a medication yet none of the visits resulted in positive experience. Last time was yesterday when I'm there to pick up my meds standing in line waiting for someone to acknowledge and serve me , there were 3 employees with white lab coats going here and there and looking at me without doing anything until I approached the assistant pharmacy (one of the 3) and expressed my frustration waiting without being served to get my meds and what was their excuse "no one saw you" !!! The only reason I go to this location is it's close to my house and even now I'm considering moving to another pharmacy where patients are being respected. read more

The pharmacy seems to have changed hands and now is so sloooooooow. 5 people behind the pharmacy desk, I'm the only person waiting. No acknowledgement have to wait and wait to pick up a simple prescription. This is now the third time, there are lots of Pharmacists in Oakville who I'm sure are a little more responsive. read more

29 Oct08 Nov 2023 - Sorry to say this review will not be much different than the rest. Overall, this store shows little leadership and professionalism within the pharmacy team. After one year they still have difficulties answering the phone and waits on the phone can be up to 45 minutes. So we go to the store in person to get prescriptions filled. Most recently both my wife and I did just that and were told to pick up the prescriptions the same day in one hour. We advised the pharmacy team that we would stop in the following morning. Well, guess what the prescriptions were not ready so we had to wait 30 minutes in the store for them, even though they said they would be ready the following day......after a year and still no better. Even when asking about Dexcom products i.e. the new G& they said we do not handle the product. So I called Dexcom and they suggested that I tell the pharmacy to call Dexcom directly, I decided not to do their work for them.....So we spoke to the pharmacist on duty and relayed our concerns and she said there was nothing she could do: email the owner! No response and it's 08 Nov definitely leadership issues! Amazing they can collect dispensing fees for this type of service and customers have no recourse. It's a shame as we like the front end of the store and go there often for my wife's cosmetics. read more

This location has been getting worse snd worse with every prescription that I've had them fill. Tonight, I went in at 10:00 for an extremely simple prescription that involves them putting a sticker on a bottle (I.e no counting, mixing, etc). The only people in the entire store was me and the 2 people that came in after me. I was told it would be 45 mins... I questioned the wait as I was looking around at which time the pharmacist said it's only him, and there is a line in front of me. He took the order of the other 2 people then sat at the computer doing absolutely nothing until the next pharmacist arrived to take over his shift 20 mons later. She asked where are the ones waiting, and he pointed to a stack as he left. 4 mins later my bottle had a sticker on it. So it was extremely apparent that he simply preferred to make everyone wait for the next pharmacist to arrive... rather than doing his job. I'm so done with them... there are other 24hr places around, and I'm certain that they are more interested in serving their customers. read more

This was my go to pharmacy. I stopped going - it's gotten too busy with hospital and even with multiple complaints it is clear they don't need or want my business. The wait is typically an hour. Never have enough medication. An argument almost every time on refills blaming doctor and doctor says no way. A couple of errors. I used to know all the staff by name and they were friendly. No one is friendly and once they look me up even less friendly. I figure there may be a warning about me. After 15 years, I've had enough. read more

Even though I love the new self checkout, I thought that by having more time, the employees would be more helpful. I used the self checkout and my coupon didn't load on the receipt. I asked a supervisor to help me, she explained me that I forgot to load the coupons on the card priorly to scanning the card, and that if I wanted the points I needed to void everything and start all over again. She didn't seem to eager to do it, so she was happy when I gave up. The store has a few staff members that are very nice, and some that are terrible. read more
