I will just spend 3 days in Toronto and I didn't know that it will be very cold on the first week of December that I started having dry, cracked skin in my hands. "Please Mister Postman, look and see Is there a letter, a letter for me" (The Marvelettes) I needed to ship two cartons to my friend in British Columbia, and I mistakenly thought my hotel would be able to take care of it. But that wasn't the case. I was pretty surprised when the desk clerk suggested we take our cartons to a nearby drug/grocery store that happened to have real live post office in the back, so that's precisely what we did. The young lady at the post office was super helpful and took care of our shipment efficiently and professionally. Shoppers Drug Mart is quite a big establishment with shelves full of groceries, refrigerated goods, health and beauty aids, household goods, and a full sized pharmacy. Bought a lulu lemon gift card for $50 for a xmas present to someone from out of town. They travelled into Oakville to buy something and found out the gift card was blank? When I was informed I went to the store where I purchased it and was told to call customer service. After hours on the phone and after I emailed all the images of the card and receipts to customer service. I am still waiting 3 weeks later. I have been told it is escalated to their 3rd party gift card provider and I am not guaranteed a timeline for a solution. It is now over a month. I am embarrassed and inconvenienced and so is the recipient of the card. I am a senior citizen and $50 is a lot of money. Shoppers has a security problem with gift cards. Stay away and buy a gift card elsewhere maybe a grocery store or convenience store ? Nobody should wait a month after buying something with no solution. They took my money and I have nothing. Further more almost everything is available for less on Amazon even after i get my 20% senior discount at Shoppers Drug Mart on Thursdays. A pharmacy that treats Seniors like SH_T ! I bought a Blood PM from the Phamacist at Shoppers Drug Mart (1859 Leslie St, Toronto, ON M3B 2M1) on Dec. 03/23. As requested, She also provided a "Prescripton/Official Receipt" for the monitor, and answered our question saying "there would be no return problem" if unused. By Jan.5/24, our Insurance Company advised that this "Official Receipt/Script " was not allowed. This Shoppers (Edith), unlike most other retailers, refused to give any extra time for Holiday refunds (even though the BPM was not opened). She said to speak to Ramon Kot (the owner) the next morning. Next day, Kot was "Unavailable all day", and we were told (unconvincingly) that he would call back. At this point, there was no trust or respect for/from this Shoppers, so I called Head Office Cust. Service. Head Office (who have no power due to private store ownwership) called this Shoppers to intervene; and Saron, with condescension and disrespect, first said "no return", then offered me a gift card, but no refund. Not until I got extremely angry, did she finally agree to a refund (and "Gabe" would be told to process a refund when I came in). Ultimately, to add insult to injury, Gabe did an about face of this store's "30 day policy" and, facetiously, acted as if it was normal procedure to provide a refund, if unused. I cannot put into words what a time consuming and repugnant experience this was, other than to say that we will advise everyone we know to never enter this SHOPPERS DRUG MART at Leslie & York Mills, ever again ! I like this location. It's conveniently located and has what I need. Apart from personal care and home cleaning products, I also end up buying the odd groceries here (milk, oatmeal, cookies, chocolate, etc., the latter of which they have a reasonably decent selection). I have also gotten passport photos done here. It is pretty sparse on the baby items, like diapers - at least compared to the location on Avenue and Lawrence - but that is to be expected as it's the downtown core. The pharmacy is my go-to out of convenience. The pharmacists - by phone and in-person - are typically pleasant and super helpful. The staff in general are courteous and helpful. This is particularly true when I call in to find out what they have in stock if I am looking for something particular. They go out of their way to locate it on shelves and price it, even offering to put it aside for me. read more

It is a huge store and many items are usually on sale because this is a business area and most people aren't buying the food items before the store has to turn over it's industry. You can always find food and personal items at a significant discount. This location gets really busy at certain times of the day but the lines move relatively quickly. The employees are really friendly and I enjoy browsing through this location. Would I come back? Absolutely! This location is great and I would shop here all the time if I lived closer. read more

ONE star for the worker who told me they were out of stock on the chips that were on sale. I asked if he could check the back and he said they just stocked the shelves and there were no more. FIVE stars for the pregnant cashier who was ready to give me a rain-check but then went to the back and brought me 4 bags!!! I've never had a problem with the pharmacy. I find the wait time for prescriptions is 15 minutes on average. Customer service is obviously inconsistent here but it's a convenient location. read more

Not a good spot for Passport photos. I had a bad experience at the Shoppers on goreway. Their photos come out a bit blurry and they arr not familiar with certain sizes. Plus, keep in mind there is no refund even though they have a big stamp with their name and location at the back! Double check the photos. read more

I have been coming to this pharmacy since I came to Toronto, and when Laura Secord ran the pharmacy all was well. Since Tomas Rydstrom took over, the pharmacy has been an ongoing dumpster fire. The automated refill service is badly broken, the folks behind the counter overwhelmed and undertrained. I have never posted a negative review of anything, anywhere, but I am doing it now. Mr.Rydstrom needs to investigate and find out why this location is having so much trouble. I hope he sees this and takes action. I've been coming here for almost 8 years and I'm finally getting to review this...? oops. in the 8 years I have been shopping at this location I can tell you without a shadow of doubt that this location has always come through for me. literally anything I have come here for, they have had stock on the shelf. surprisingly as well, very easy to walk around and find stuff at this location, as the signage is crystal clear, leading you to the department, or section you need. this location is clean, bright and full of happy and cheerful staff, who are very eager to please and offer advice on products you may need. the self check out section is also a nice touch and needs to be in more location, and not soon enough. very happy with my years spent shopping at this location, and I really wish I lived closer to this location, its definitely worth the trip to come here. parking options are the street if you can find it, and some lots in the area. transit options are the 503(daytime service Monday to friday) 504, and the 514 streetcar for direct service to shoppers with the 501 and 510 streetcars with a bit of walking. read more

Everything you need in a convenient location! Directly adjacent to the Hyatt downtown, Shoppers Drug Mart has all your basic needs and also a small grocery section. I had forgotten nail polish on a work trip and dropped in here to pick up a bottle. It was not cheaper than in other stores, and certainly not cheaper than in the US, but their color selection was excellent. Checkout through the self-checkout line is handy, although if you have a foreign credit card it requires a manager or associate nearby to come over to complete the transaction. In busier times it's easier to just get in line behind an actual sales associate rather than block the queue for the self-checkouts. If you're looking for specialized groceries, I'd recommend walking two blocks down to the grocery store, but for basic needs such as milk, juice, yogurt, or apples/bananas, this place has all of that. read more

We were travelling through Canada and then onto the States from the UK. We needed to have a Covid negative test to enter the States for a flight. We visited this store only to be sent away and told to book online. Obviously the test has to be done in a short space of time. We went back to the hotel and completed all the information online only for the 'form' not to submit. We went back to CVS to explain and basically was told they had nothing to do with 'it' and couldn't help. More like they 'didn't' want to help. They were so unhelpful and were not bothered about the stress we were under. Fortunately the hotel helped us and we went to the Medical Hub on Peter Street who were amazing. The shoppers up the street on Queen always has lower prices and sales even though all shoppers now fall under the Weston/loblaws umbrella. I come for paper towel (not) on sale and am instantly inundated with overpriced eyebrow gel and contour kits. This review will be a short one, but this is probably the nicest Shoppers you'll ever visit. It took over from what I believe was a Mini Cooper dealership and taken the space used in this pre-war type building and turned it into a modern loft feel pharmacy. Staff is good, prices are usually pretty good too (see: Sales) and there is a huge food section here. It's not a wash of white flooring and walls unlike most other Shoppers you'll visit. Very relaxing zen like atmosphere. If you're here for the cologne and perfume, that's a pretty modest section, but the magazine section is really good! I'm still a fan of the printed form, so this is a bonus for me. Only thing I'd say they should do is make their signage more evident. Other than that, this place is great read more

This store is all of 3 minutes from my condo and it's my go to place for anything I need whether it's shampoo, cleaning supplies, etc. It has a very large cosmetics dept and they even sell handbags and small collection of accessories. I like the fact that they carry such staples as cream, milk, eggs, peanut butter, coffee...it's super convenient in that it's so close. I receive their flyers every week and always scan it for deals on things like TP, toothpaste, paper towels, and other things. However, despite the convenience, I find the cashiers to be rude at times and the line ups on a Sat afternoon are out of control, which completely cancels out the convenience of the location, especially when you're stuck standing in line for up to 10 minutes with one cash open. read more

She fills me in on any promotions, current and coming, and never lets me leave without some samples. The other reason I am a fan of this location is that they carry Dior products. Shoppers is my go to store for great deals... I have mixed feelings because i feel differently about the different services offered in the store..but it is getting 4 stars because of my usual activity which is buying my weekly needs because I do not have the time to go to a grocery store. Their deals are great especially ice cream!!!! And all the snacks I need for work. As for the post office... I would give it 3 stars. The service is usually pretty slow and it just takes so long to go through all the paperwork if you have to send a package outside Canada but I guess that is more procedures....just time consuming. The pharmacy..I give 1 star. When I changed my prescription from Vancouver, they were unwilling to help and refused to call the Vancouver pharmacy. Both places had their own policies but at the end of the day, I just needed my medicine in Toronto. When I arrived at the counter, the pharmacist saw me but completely ignored me and went on with his own ways for several minutes before even coming over. When I was completing my transaction she was already dealing with the next person behind me. I just found her very rude and not someone I can trust my mess with. So there are ups and downs but come to shoppers knowing what you want and you will most likely leave with it, whether u get the service you deserve. read more

This is definitely one of the more upscale Shoppers Drug Marts that you're going to find, if for no other reason, it's one of the newer locations in the city. Even though it's new, it's one of the more basic Shoppers Drug Marts in the city. Normally, when you enter a Shoppers, you're faced with a huge array of cosmetics, perfumes, and skin care items. Now unless I'm shopping for my mom or looking to appease a disgruntled significant other, this doesn't appeal to me at all. However, I find with Shoppers Drug Marts, you can tell how well stocked and aesthetically pleasing the Shoppers Drug Mart will be based on the size and scope of the cosmetics section that greets you. Suffice to say that the make-up section is smallish here. There is no post office department available here and the aisles are shorter providing a decent variety of the basics. The grocery aisle is smaller than most Shoppers as well, with few provisions available if needed. Also for the size of it, the number of cash registers doesn't seem to be enough to deal with the queue of customers that inevitably forms. The staff handle it in good speed, but I've never been there and not have to line up. Convenience by location for sure, but there are definitely other Shoppers that provide more. read more

Pretty good SDM for being right downtown. The staff are usually about as friendly as they normally are at Shoppers. Take that how you want. I've used the pharmacy service a number of times and while they are not the friendliest people in the world, they are quite professional and willing to help. The Good: 1. Location. Finding a good SDM downtown can be challenging but this one is a one stop shop in a great location. 2. Size. The size of his location is great - not too big, not too small - and with the added bonus of an OK sized grocery section. The Bad: 1. Lines. Because of its location, there is constantly a line up both at the cash and pharmacy - best not to go at lunch hour as it is about 3x worse. 2. Stock. They tend to be out of stock quite often but the good thing is there are lots of other locations not too far. I had the unfortunate opportunity to find this location to purchase some items before my holiday travels. I had received an email about an optimum points special and the store had several large signs and promos playing on the in store sound system. This foolishly led me to believe the store team members would be well trained and understand the promo. After an hour the three associates who had attempted to complete this simply transaction gave up. They refund and recharged my cc three times and called corporate and optimum but none could execute the transaction. They then converted my points to a cash refund but in doing so now I don't have the points to attempt the redemption special. I find it very unethical for a company to promote a program and entice shoppers with the possibility of an eventual benefit only to leave a store full of staff incapable of executing the benefit for consumers. Do yourself a favour and collect air miles at a competitor at least you know you're never going to get those benefits. read more

I live near this store, or I would literally never go here. First, and most importantly, the shopping baskets in this store are disgusting. They are so dirty I can barely look at them. I never use them and end up carrying a ton of crap. Secondly, their beauty department is pretty useless and gets in the way. I hate going near there because people hover over you without being nice or helpful. I recently picked up an item from this area, and the sales clerk requested that I return to the beauty area to check out after shopping in the rest of the store. (Why? Is this one store or two? Are you paid on commission?) Fine, I'll come back. But when it came time to check out, she was busy helping a customer. Another woman did offer me a shopping basket, but you know how I feel about those. Plus I told her I was checking out, not continuing my shopping. The three other women in the beauty department apparently can't check you out. And they are mean and have a very bad, snobby attitude (to be fair, the first woman I talked to, the one who had access to the register, was very nice. And that's probably why she was busy). So the only person who is working and helping customers is the only person who could have rung me up. Look Shoppers, I go to Sephora if I want nice stuff. I don't need three mean people who didn't make the cut at a real beauty store to just stand in the way being useless. Finally, this place is always out of basic, useful things. You know, like sponges and hand soap. To be fair, I think the people who work the front checkout for the whole store do a really good job given how crowded this place can get. I go to this location very often, almost every day, and I have to say the asian lady with a short haircut, bangs and glasses (I think her name is Angela, but I could be wrong) is always SO incredibly rude. She never offers me a bag and gets annoyed when I ask for one, she never EVER says hello or makes eye contact, she is low and inefficient, she even argued with me once when i was trying to return something due to lack of quality. It took me 5 minutes of back and forth with her before she would accept the return, of which I've had no problems returning things at other shoppers locations. She seriously needs some customer service training, she is miserable and makes your experience uncomfortable at check out. read more

Overwhelming stench of mixed perfume and cosmetics must be walked through to get to other areas.
