To say this place is cool is a gross understatement. They have an amazing selection of architectural savage so if you are looking for doors or cast iron sinks and things like that, these guys have it and much more and prices are killer. I'm guessing that's their mainstay but what totally takes this place over the top is all the rest of the stuff they have. For a guy who loves crusty pieces with character that I can repurpose into something else, this is a goldmine. I found this place while in the area on business and one piece in particular caught my eye. A big old hand riveted tank. Sucker weights over 1000lbs. None of knew exactly what it was but that's just part of the fun right? Bought it on the spot after talking to the folks and owners who if you look up Uber Cool in the dictionary, their pics come up. They loaded that beast up and I drove 350 miles back to the KC area. Come to find out it's an old pressure tank that was made by Kewanee Boiler between 1905-1920. My friend swears they have the best deals, so I decided to stop by. I was only interested in upcycling home goods like curtains, pillowcases etc. That kept my search a little easier. I found several things I wanted but the prices seemed so high for a thrift store. I went to the cashier and asked if they ever have home goods on sale, figuring I'd just wait to get those items. He pointed to a huge sign I missed when I walked in. Everything except clothing was 75% off! So instead of checking out with one thing I had several for a total of $12! I don't know how often they run that sale but it was worth my time. They have a lot of everything and I found the clerks very friendly and helpful.
