I purchased2 boxes of HONEYNUT Cheerios over a month ago. I went to open the package and red the ingredients in the cereal. It said it had bioengineered ingredients inside. I didn't have the receipt but I went to return the boxes that I paid $1.99 for and they wouldn't refund me because it was over a month and price plus information doesn't stay online that long . Now I could have told the clerk I paid $4.00 plus but I was honest . I have never had an issue retuning something without proof. The only reason for returning it is because the product was BIOENGINEERED. I don't want BIOENGINEERED FOOD. Read the labels because a lot of products have BIOENGINEERING IN THEM ! Second ShopRite is getting greedy with p price plus and limiting some quantities to 1 item instead of 4 per variety. I went to buy Panera Soup $2.99 is not a big deal if they are only giving you 1$ off but they limit you to 1 container . ShopRite, you want to play the game w your customers? Bring it! I'm here on November 22, 2025 for the birthday of my wife and my dog. For context - we live in West New York, New Jersey, which is only approximately 25 to 30 minutes away from going into Manhattan such as Midtown area. Therefore, within a 10 mile distance radius around where I live, there are at least three ShopRite, two Walmarts, including a supercenter, and 3 to 4 Audi's I save this context because when it comes to these three pillars - 1. Inventory 2. Structure & layout 3. Ambience I'm not sure why it's 2.8 stars. Maybe because people here are usually tourist and have a lot of expectations. But we already know the prices for ShopRite. Those three pillars above, especially when it comes to inventory and store layout - this is by far the best ShopRite I've ever been in. It felt like a shopping experience in terms of clarity of where items are as well as plenty of good ambience and lighting to guide me, not to mention people, bumping left and right with you - that doesn't happen here : these are the reasons why I give this five out of five stars. Will always be visiting here whenever my significant other and I plan to visit for our touristy and vacation trips. For those of those who are heading here from, let's say the city - highly recommend this place to cover all your eating, cooking, and etc needs if you don't plan on eating at a restaurant. read more

Edit: Went back there again yesterday to get the prescription they returned the day before that wasn't in my bag that I was expecting to be that they said I could come get again anytime. Counter person says: We don't have anything here for you. I say: I had this whole conversation on the phone yesterday with someone else and relay what happened and what was said. Counter person looks again and says: Oh sorry it is here. She gets my script. I owe $1 for it. Used my debit card twice and it says: " Unable to process." use my Apple Pay from my IPhone: "Unable to process." which doesn't mean declined. I go outside to get a dollar out of my car. I call Wells Fargo. They say: "There are no charges coming through on our end at all. It's a problem on their end at the pharmacy." I go back inside and wait AGAIN in a long line to get my med. I tell the cashier this and another one comes over and says: "We have no control over that ma'am." (You know all condescending...) I say: "I'm not saying it's your fault as people but there is something wrong with your machine." which shouldn't by causing my day to have more time wasted yet again by them. I need y'all to be smarter and to be able to process that you at that point should check your machines because not only have you wasted my time 4 different times driving back and forth to get meds that somehow don't make it into my bag and I go home without the meds I came there for but now I'm waiting in long lines twice, walking back and forth to my car to get a dollar and having arguments with your dumb cashiers because your point of sale machines aren't connecting with the bank and not only aren't they smart enough to fulfill the scripts I came there for, they aren't smart enough to understand what I am saying when I say: There are no charges coming through to my bank's end. CHECK YOUR POS MACHINES and stop wasting a F ton of my precious time with your idiocy. This is mainly about the pharmacy. I am so sick and tired of driving all the way to the pharmacy to pick up meds that are supposedly ready only to drive all the way home to find out they're not in the bag. So I call. "Oh we returned that to stock today but you can come pick it up anytime." Me: I've already driven all the way over there and now I'm home. So I guess I'll be coming back tomorrow. Y'all really have wasted a ton of my time with your lackadaisical approach to getting people their meds. This isn't the 1st or 2nd time I have driven all the way there only to find out my meds aren't ready or getting all the way home and they're not in the bag or your Dr needs to send a pre-auth every single month for one script. It's like pulling teeth to get my meds from y'all and you have wasted my time and my gas. Regarding the store: Y'all leave expired goods on the shelf all the time. It's gross. Nothing like getting home to realize I have bought something that is expired. Why do I need to do your job for you? And yeah I lose my money and my time on this as well because I'm not driving all the way back to deal with it. I'm just throwing it away so I don't get sick. read more

They have really good sushi and a great selection of meat. They also have kimchi. Options for Very good quality such as "grass fed steaks raised in Australia", quail eggs and venison. It's always clean in there, and they have a giant selection of different fruits,vegetables and cheeses. And the workers at self check out always say have a good day :) read more

I've been a shoprite customer for over 40 years. Why do I have to jump through hoops to get the sale price! I have the store card, but that's not good enough, you have to cut a coupon, that's not good enough, now you have to download a digital coupon! It's ridiculous what you have to go through to save a dollar on overpriced food . I'm going to Price Chopper at least the store card gets me all of the sale prices on all of the items . read more

I've been to most of the Shop Rite stores in the area, and most are fine, but this one is terrible. Bought some butternut squash recently that straight up had mold growing on it, along with plenty of other examples. Unless you plan on only eating canned/prepackaged foods do yourself a favor and drive the extra distance to go somewhere else. read more

This is a run-of-the-mill rural supermarket. The experience is usually pretty depressing. There are many seemingly smart, caring cashiers and workers here, but generally, this Shoprite does not attract Sullivan County's best and brightest. Customers without masks are the norm here. And it's rather infuriating that the store doesn't care. The men's bathroom is disgusting. Unfortunately there's not much competition in this area. read more

I think they are trying to renovate this store, which would be a good thing. Its fine as a supermarket goes, but the veggies dont seem to be the freshest around. And dont try to be there on a Friday in the summer, its packed packed packed and not worth the waits. read more

I went to Shoprite for a bouquet of roses for Valentines Day. I picked out a nice bouquet, but the cashier (Kaylee) pointed out there were not a dozen in the bouquet and asked if I wanted to get a different one. I explained that I was disabled and would just take it. Kaylee offered to go back and get another. The new bouquet had a dozen roses as well as lilies in the mix. What incredible customer service! I walked in and asked for the chairs I had put to the side and Sara showed up right away. We live in Cochecton, about 25 minutes away, and while there are grocery stores closer to us, this ShopRite is worth the extra trip and is now our go-to. It's clean, well-stocked, the price points are good. But most of all, I want to express my appreciation for the warm, friendly, and hard-working staff. It's got to be difficult having to deal with the public in these times, from both a service and safety angle, but every one we have encountered has been really helpful and nice- Barbara and Rick (Rich?) on our last two visits especially. I'm not sure which is worse, the store or the pharmacy. I have a prescription for 90 days that has been divided into two for the last three refills one was fine, the second was severely shorted (and they wouldn't correct it) and this one was split into two completely separate refills. So, I have 32 pills now and have to get the remainder as a separate refill, with, one would assume, because it's Monticello ShopRite, a separate copay. To top it off, no one will answer the phone so I can deal with this. This is on the day I found, yet again, that the price stickers on apples purchased there yesterday are hiding holes and bad spots on the apples. I really hate this store. read more

The produce is pretty bad and it seems like a lot of it is imported - to live in such a rural area with so many wonderful local farms around and not utilize the local produce is a shame. They also have a pretty small organic produce section and no bulk foods. The cuts of meat are generally not very good. The prices are okay. They do have a fairly sizable organic dry goods section as well as a good selection of "exotic" produce (coconuts, mangos, starfruit, etc.) They also have a Kosher section which is good if you are looking for that type of food. My biggest issue - they are constantly restocking and pull out giant dollies FULL of boxes and leave them there without anyone seeming to touch them or work on them at all. Why, at 5pm when people are shopping after work and it's quite busy, are they restocking? THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. You can't get a shopping cart through half the aisles and you have to be very careful not to trip or get tangled in the trails of plastic sticking off the sides from opened boxes. It's incredibly frustrating. Shop Rite, just wait for the day that someone gets seriously hurt because you don't wait to restock until after you close. I'm sure you'll enjoy that lawsuit. Too bad they are the only grocery store except for Wal-mart. If I had another choice I would not shop here. read more

Another awful experience at shoprite. Was in the long single line to check out, got to the register, and someone was inches behind me, my husband asked this man to back up a little and he refused, just getting closer to me. This arrogant man evidently wanted to start a verbal altercation, the cashier was just staring at the whole thing. what is the point of a single line, when people are then placed behind you in line. Im livid over this experience. This place was mobbed today, many with out masks, or masks under their noses. Employees the same. What is the sense of a mask if you dont wear it correctly? THis is the 2nd issue this month with Shoprite, I will find another store to do my shopping at from now on. read more

Very large, well-stocked supermarket with good prices, and it has a slight edge over the one in Liberty. The disadvantage is that it doesn't have a very good selection of local products (we are in a dairy farming area), and you have to go to Pecks to get local cheeses, sausages and so on. But ShopRite is where you go for stocking up on staples. The staff here varies. The guy in the fish department is an idiot; he has no idea what the prices are for the fish. But otherwise I've found the people here to be helpful. When I wanted a particular product stocked, I found that they were responsive and stocked it for me. read more

pack and carry when you go to the shoprite. there's a large population of drug addicts sleeping in tents behind this store. at night they venture into the parking lot and have no problem walking right up to you with no coat or shoes on and beg you for money. the last time i was here one of the druggies was right in my face as i was getting out of my car. be careful there also over by the aldi in monticello. they have no problem coming right up to you and begging for money for drugs. you're not sure if they're right in the head so pack and carry if necessary. be careful. read more

If shopping on a Saturday beware that they start changing the sale prices for Sunday around 3-4pm so you'll see a sign for something on sale and it rings up another price. I asked a manager why this is and he said because they have so many stickers to change that they start on Saturday. I think that's ridiculous and I've never had this problem in any other Shoprites I've been to. read more

The bakery is fantastic here. I love this place for a lot of other reasons, but their Boston creme pie is great (I actually had one decorated for my boyfriend's birthday). They are also fantastic about accommodating special orders as long as they have what they need to make them. I had an idea to replace cannoli filling with Boston creme and mentioned it to my family. Sure enough, what did I find present at my birthday dinner? A whole box of custom made chocolate dipped cannoli shells filled with Boston creme and chocolate chips. People will tout other bakeries in the area, but many of them have grown dingier and dingier over the years. ShopRite is still clean and the people are friendly behind that bakery counter. "Shop locally" is great when the local shops are putting in the effort, but until they do, ShopRite it is for my baked goods (assuming I can't make them myself). read more

I admit, I miss the old store location. It was more convenient, if not a little bit smaller, and I could walk from my house to pick up a gallon of milk. But this new store is better in that it's larger and can carry more things. The sales tend to be great, the selection fun, and because it's not crowded (unlike Wal-Mart) with people also getting lawn chairs, snow globes, a toy piano, and jeggings, you can get in and out in a reasonable frame of time. read more

It had everything we needed. Also great deals on corn, watermelon, and cherries. All the fixings for our July 4th weekend up were found here. We even got a hormone free, grass fed beef steak here. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a pretty good sized organic goods section. The organic produce area, however was mostly wilted and unappealing. read more

They claim to be open 24 hours but they close on random occasions at night with no notice or explanation. Their phone system is terrible as well. No info on automated system and it rings and rings with nobody andwering. read more

Had to go here again, the experience was normal due to the previously mentioned employees not being on shift. Still a ShopRite I wouldn't frequent often. Can't plan around the shifts of bad employees. read more

BEWARE of the spareribs that is located under the heating lamps. Suffered greatly from food poisoning! Never will buy the prepared foods ever again!!! Evidentally, the heating lamps are not HOT enough. Reported it to the Sullivan County health inspectors. read more
