Never ewer put your parents to that rehab because the staff always busy to help no matter what, no doctor no help. My mother stayed 6 days and she diet. It is a terreble place spacial for older people i do not know how people give 4 or 5 stars for that dead factory. And no any punish for negligence? Basic needed care was okay and the place is clean and well staffed but they take it upon themselves to manage the patient's care and ignore the wishes or instructions of the patients authorized representatives. They do unneeded unrequested services. They lie & makeup stories to justify their expensive unneeded services. Each time you talk to a different person they give you a different story as an explanation for their procedures. For example they told us that it took two men to lift my 98-year-old mother out of her chair to transport her to lunch and the bathroom. As soon as we got her out of the place she's getting up out of the chair herself going to the bathroom by herself and going back to her chair or her bed by herself, repeatedly. A complete dump site of life-long patients & temporary physical therapy folks unless the "Inmate" has family connections to intimidate the management....in which case, treatment is like royalty. I was there for physical therapy after a tough hospitalization. Needed to strengthen my legs. I experienced employees being rude about having to deal with my bed Pan....was forgotten about when breakfast was delivered to mynroom (although my roommate got hers). Was treated like an inconvenient entity & ignored as I worked on my assigned Physical Therapy apparatus (the employees appeared bored & would gathers to complain about their salaries). The few Black patients that were there were treated like crap. I witnessed this first-hand as I regularly shared my lunch & dinner in the mess hall with an older Black woman who was completely intimidated. I did well (on my own) with PT & notified this dump site that I was checking out on Friday morning (after 2 weeks). A MGT employee came to me the night before "instructing me" that the facility will keep me through the weekend & discharge me on Monday morning. Really? Weekend PT meant one brief session on Sat afternoon & nothing on Sunday. Want my Insurance $$$$, eh? I argued with the Gal and told her I was walking out the next day, she had no authority to stop me & that I was notifying my insurance co (Cigna) of this scam......which I did. I broke my leg during a party and was taken to NYP Brooklyn hospital. The nurse at the hospital recommended me this nursing home. When I entered the building I had mixed feelings due to reviews I read online. But within a week I started seeing difference in my condition. I stayed for 3 weeks and it was more like a vacation for me. The food was not bad and the best part was they had lot of programs and activities to keep you occupied. The rehab nurses made sure I followed my planned exercises. They know how to cheer you up and encourage you when you say I cant do it anymore. I was discharged after 3 weeks as I was fit and was walking normally. One thing I would like to suggest is to add more items to their menu as it felt like they ran out of new things to cook in 5 days. read more

The reception, Admissions office and nursing supervisor completely left my family and I in a terrible situation when we inquired as to available beds for our father and after spending 20 mins on the phone, and 30 min doing a tour of the facility they told us THE NEXT DAY that they did not have beds for his needs. This is in spite of the fact that we mentioned the specific information regarding his case to the person who answered the phone, the nursing supervisor who did the tour and a member from the admissions office. Then we spoke with someone in the admissions offices named hosanna and she was completely disrespectful over the phone. The worse place to be for an elderly patient. Nurses are rude and always "busy" sitting around. Patients screaming for help and no one shows up. The equipment for breathing are dinosaur age. Im got a job at this center as a service worker (maintenance). While I was undergoing the necessary medical examination (2 weeks), my admission documents were thrown out by the personnel department administrator Victoria Kondratenko. When I came and said that my documents were ready, I was told (Victoria Kondratenko and Lev Wasserman) that they thought that I would not come and just took another one. When I came to find out what other vacancies were available, I was offered to wash dishes in the kitchen (after reading my resume with 30 years of experience in electronics and computers). It's disgusting ... But something else is surprising - these fucking anti-Semites (and you can't call them otherwise), when they found out that I was a Jew and came from Israel, they simply began to behave as if they were the higher powers here. Finding a rehab home after an incident is a challenge. Is one better than another. Shore View Nursing and Rehab might be a great place to go to die. As far as rehab and social services, I'd say nix this one off your shopping list. The 2 social workers are only available via voice-mail. They never return your calls. This part is the core of facilitating health care. The PT and OT staff are average. They do not set specific goals or challenges to facilitate your recovery. While they have an internist, you'll likely not be able yo access, Shore Views claim of providing specialists appears more theory than fact. Great web site. No great service as a patient. I feel patients are clients. There must be active and humane health care. As rehab goes, my wife didn't see it. It isn't quite like Dante's entrance to hell. But, there are many more humane options in rehab you should discuss. Going in to Shore View should not be an option. read more

My father had hip replacement surgery earlier this year and stayed here for 1.5 weeks for physical therapy. He got his own room and bathroom (that could be because he was about 30-50 years younger than the rest of the patients lol). The room was a comfortable size and had everything he needed, even a closet. The showers were in a different area on the same floor as his room, but I didn't see them so I can't comment on them. Within a few hours of him checking in, there was a lot of staff that came to introduce themselves, one by one... his physical therapist, nurse, doctor, etc. Everyone seemed polite and professional. Almost all of them spoke Russian, which was a plus for us. They all explained their specific role in his recovery and how they would be working with him. Attention Management In your rehabilitation center, certain Russian speaking personnel are harassing and abusing the seniors. Please take measures to address these gross violations. Many senior patients are unable to eat. The personnel are not feeding them and when they do they are acting very harshly towards them and treating them like dogs. I apologize for the comparison but it is the only one that fits. To some patients they only approach to throw out the lunch and threaten them with cold showers. If one of the seniors wants to go to the bathroom the staff yells at him,I have witnessed this. Im speaking about the employees of the 6th floor. I have been a long-term patient at Shoreview for several years now, while recovering from a massive stroke. The facility is not perfect but I'm astonished at the negativity of some of the reviews here. The staff, including nurses,nurses assistants and physical and occupational therapists are caring, patient and extremely hard working. Management seems to take a personal interest in each and every patient/resident. Many staff members are almost extraordinarily caring, diligent and hard working. Many forego there own break or meal time to attend to a patients physical and emotional needs. Obviously offering one on one personal care is difficult, if not impossible. Many family members do not seem to understand that their loved ones are not the only patients that need care. And the staff can't drop what they're doing to immediately attend to their family member. I don't usually do reviews, however, this time I feel that the nurses on 8th floor deserve to be noticed. Obviously, they are overwhelmed, but I have not seen them loose their cool under pressure. In fact I once observed Victoria sitting down with an elderly patient who did not want to eat and she personally fed him him like he was her own grandfather. My father is currently under their watch. I watched them being gentle with him rewrapping his wound. Saw them patiently trying to explain to him the things that he is not allowed to do due to his condition. Trust me , I know it is not easy to deal with old people who are set in their way and think that they can do things that they did when they were 20 years old. My mother had spent almost 3 months at the rehabilitation facilities of the Center, and she was released in a much better state of her health than would have ever expected! The medical personal took really great care of her, and the word "rehabilitation" could be truly applied in her case. The best part of the Center is the personal: nurses, therapists and their associates. My mother has been constantly telling me that she had been daily surrounded my the most caring group of medical professionals (it was especially important for her and for all our family because in some other hospitals where my mother had been recovering in the past, we had some very negative experiences.) Every time we phoned the hospitals or visited my mother, all the nurses very wonderful, always with nice positive attitude, and very professional. My 87 year old mother was put into this Rehab and Nursing facility on July 16, 2021. After my experience, I wanted to say thank you to the staff for how they treated her and my family. I saw this same care given to all the patients and their loved ones, which is a great support system to give. They always helped me when I was in need and kept contact with me when any issues would come up. I specifically would like to give thanks to the social worker, Keyla Kuliyeva, for her professionalism, being so understanding, and for always helping the families of patients. Also, I would like to give specific gratitude to the Director of Social Work, Susan London, Sergey Romanchenko from the 9th floor, and the nurses Judit, Marina, and Erica from the 9th floor as well. They were all incredibly helpful during this stressful time. I had my dad there for rehab twice. Place is clean, staff is welcoming and friendly. 9th floor is mostly Russian speaking with clinically sharp nurse-in-charge (great asset). Nursing staff is knowledgeable, with readily available MD and PA monitoring. SW department is helpful. Relatives are listened to. Place has parking for visitors, and mostlyy improtant - rehabilitation program is very good. Regular diet is fine, special (chopped, ect.) are a bit more challenging. Our overall experience was positive, and I am grateful to the staff and Administration for support and care. read more

Please don't sent your family to this facility. My grandma had died in this rehab . So understaff , while my grandma was in pain no nurse could be found , my cousin and I were the one to provide care . The suctions tubes didn't work when the EMT came , the didn't have EKG machine nor crash card to save the person . Very not caring and unprofessional. Amazing facility, they let me volunteer here shadowing the physical therapists in the rehab department. Everyone is extremely professional and have relationships with the patients where they can communicate with each other in order to practice walking up stairs and into different settings depending on how the patient lives at home. Both the physical therapy and occupational therapy is great in the two weeks I worked here I've seen patients improve a great deal whether it's with walking balance orientation etc. read more

I had a difficult client at Shore View for over six months. The entire staff was patient and kind with her throughout her stay. Although she was quite demanding and often negative, they handled her requests in a respectful manner and did their best to make her stay pleasant and productive. He was in an arm cast and couldn't get up to go to the bathroom. They would leave him in the room in the wheelchair away from the call button. Shoreview nursing and rehab center is the number one facility in Brooklyn for rehab. I had two family members who were patients after suffering a stroke and a knee replacement. The rehab is amazing from PT/OT and Speech/Swallow. The nurses and CNA staff are attentive, caring, and kind towards the residents. Recreation does a wonderful job making sure that everyone feels at home and is always occupied with some kind of activity. They have a hair salon, a cafe, and a backyard where they even BBQ for the residents and put on shows. I can't make enough positive comments about the way Shoreview treated my client, who was extremely demanding and particular. They were patient at all times, courteous, and respectful. My grandfather was recently discharged from Shoreview Nursing home and Rehabilitation Center this past month and I would like to take a moment to write about our experience (which I do not usually do). My grandfather had a stroke several months ago and was severely debilitated with significant left sided weakness, impaired swallowing abilities, and impaired short term memory. After intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy 6 days a week, my grandfather has made great strides in both his physical, cognitive, and speech capabilities. He is now taking small steps (with a walker of course), tolerating a regular diet consistency, and is able to perform simple activities of daily living with minimal assistance. I have to take this time to command the wonderful team that we had met at Shoreview Nursing Home beginning with admissions, who were always there to speak with myself and my family regarding any issues and concerns, the wonderful social workers, who helped get my grandfather back home as well as address any additional problems, the nurses who provide the most amazing care, and the rehabilitation team that always went above and beyond to help my grandfather and answer any additional questions we had for them. We could not have been more happy with our choice to send our family member to Shoreview at his time of need. Shoreview is most definitely one of the best nursing and rehabilitation centers in this area and we would recommend it to anyone that is looking for help for their loved ones. read more
