Whereas I would prefer to not have go to PT ever, the staff here has been great. They are all very kind and friendly and the space is very clean. I find Lindy to be humorous. I like that they don't give you all of the "answers", which has afforded me the opportunity to not only learn each of the exercises, but to better articulate my symptoms. The staff does concurrent documentation, which I appreciate, as I am also a healthcare provider. I came here for a neck injury in 2015 and now I'm back again for cubital tunnel syndrome. I can confidently say that I trust the staff here and would return again in the future, should I sustain another injury. read more

Three times they scheduled my appointments on the phone and when I showed up, they had not put them in their calendar. I am in the midst of a long recovery from a Lisfranc lesion, so I have trouble walking long distances on my injured foot. In my search for a PT, I found ProKinetics PTherapy in the neighborhood and short walk from my house. Catherine motivates me with calm reassurrance and she has guided me in learning the exercises, so I can follow through at home. I love the awesome foot medical massage. She answers all my questions -- and I have many! The staff is friendly and warm. Lupe is an especially helpful staff member. Specifically reviewing for postpartum physical therapy. I chose the site because it was local, covered by insurance, and well reviewed. As a new mom those were my priorities. After my first 3 sessions over 4 weeks (which was the recommendation), I wasn't thrilled with my experience and started to do a bit more research. In doing so I learned that the Tupler Technique they use for diastasis recti is not research-based or best practice. It feels a bit gimmicky, you have to buy extra supplies out of pocket, and the therapist is very focused on following the script. I always left feeling discouraged and sad rather than empowered or informed. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for postpartum care to look for a physical therapist specifically focused on that. The new site I've found has already made such a difference. read more

If you are looking for a small, hands-on physical therapy spot where you will get customized care, this is a great option. Catherine and Lindita are both fantastic physical therapists, and they have helped me tremendously in my long-term recovery! They are patient, adaptive, and good-natured. I appreciate that they always take time to correct my form and make sure I'm really doing the exercises accurately. This place also takes GHI City Benefits Plan (not a lot of places do), and the excellent front desk staff team handles all the billing. I'm really grateful I found this place. read more

I went to ProKinetics for an elbow fracture, having zero intel or experience with physical therapy. From the get-go I felt completely overwhelmed with the chore of finding the best place to put me on the fast-track for recovery. I have a fairly active lifestyle and was concerned about adequately restoring the range of motion and strength it requires. I knew I needed a place with knowledgeable, personally invested doctors, capable (and interested!) in pushing my physical limits in a comfortable space. Between Catherine, Lindita, and Melissa, I am in good hands! Admittedly, I now look forward to my twice weekly sessions and continued improvement. I've been coming here for a couple of months now and I must say, I am so happy to have found this place. From the staff to the facility itself, everything is awesome. My main physical therapist is Katherine who is so wonderful and besides the amazing way she treats me and helps me with my recovery, the way she treats all of her patients is amazing. You can tell she truly cares. I've also seen Lindita (spelling??) who is the same way, wonderful, very caring and dedicated to helping in patients' recovery. While there, there's also Catherine at the front and Ivette (I'm sorry if names are spelled incorrectly) who are awesome and on the ball! They do such an great job with everything, and if I have to go to physical therapy, I'm happy it's at this facility. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone who needs it. read more

I love this place. I had a torn meniscus which is not pleasant. Physical therapy can also not be a pleasant experience. But they made it a fun time. (as possible) Even if the place was crowded they made sure they did pay attention to you. Everyone I encountered was super nice and professional. When I finally stopped physical therapy they made sure to let me know what I needed to do to keep my knee from not hurting. I always felt like they were invested in my health and I wasn't just another paying client. Thanks guys when I finished with you my knee was 100 times better! read more

After being in pain for a few months with my lower back my primary care doctor sent me to a neurosurgeon, who expressed that the disc protrusion was not surgically resolvable and recommended a course of physical therapy. So, I have been attending physical therapy for my lower back at ProKinetics since April 2015. I found a very positive review of their practice on Google and decided to give them a shot. This is the first time I have ever chosen a physical therapist or any medial provider without getting a referral from a friend or family member but I'm very pleased with my choice. The review I read stated that Catherine was very attentive, patient, friendly and compassionate to all ages of patients and very knowledgeable regarding physical therapy. I have to say that my experience there has been a very pleasant one and I totally agree with the review I read prior to starting physical therapy there. I work for the city and Catherine has been more than willing to accommodate my schedule and provides regular documentation when I need to leave early from work to attend my sessions. Catherine is very friendly and engaging and always asks how the pain is, gives suggestions on how to maximize the benefit I'm receiving from physical therapy and is knowledgeable, very attentive and patient with me and other patients I have observed during my sessions with her. My neurologist and physiatrist recently suggested that I undergo epidural injections and I was very hesitant and nervous about getting them due to the constant pain I've been in. Catherine offered good advice and listened to my concerns and even recommended a physiatrist if the one that I was going to see couldn't see me quickly. Catherine always has a pleasant demeanor, is professional, friendly and does her best to manage her time so that every patient gets their time with her. Catherine also points out from time to time if you aren't getting the stretches correct and explains what the stretches are meant to do and how they help. Catherine appears to be very well versed in her chosen profession and is genuinely concerned with helping her patients to recover and live more active lives free from pain. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to recover from an injury or those who are experiencing pain and are in need of physical therapy. read more

I've been in treatment at ProKinetics for 6 weeks with a tear in my rotator cuff. I was in deep distress as well in physical pain. Prognosis wasn't good, and in fact I was mentally preparing for surgery. Common sense suggested I at least try a cortisone shot and physical therapy. I can really report how awesome this treatment facility has been, both psychologically and hands on. They immediately allowed me to feel hopeful that in their care, I could return to a normal existence. They were completely open with me, explaining the injury in detail, and also the physical treatment I was to endure to reach my goal of normalcy. Staff has been amazing in their level of care and attention to detail. I am pushed to my limits and am always asked if it is too much. It never is. In their care, I know that the harder I work, the more complete my healing will be. I've been seeing Catherine at ProKinetics on and off for almost three years. She came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. She will take as much time as needed to work patiently with you one-on-one until you are doing the exercises and stretches properly. Catherine will also make sure you understand the mechanics of your issues and why the specific exercises are helpful. She has really helped me, which is more than I can say about other PTs I have seen in Brooklyn. The office is pleasant, very clean, with all equipment in excellent condition. This place is a little gem in the neighborhood. You get personalized service and the facility is fully equipped with the PT balls, bands, hot and cold packs. There's also the exercise machines. It's nice and quiet and very clean. It's a great to go and be away from the loud music and have time to yourself to think. The massages always do the trick as well. read more

I had a terrifying experience at ProKinetics Physical Therapy. I went in for diastasis recti after pregnancy, since they claim to be experts in pelvic floor physical therapy. I was told I had a 4 finger separation, and that I would have to wear a brace for six weeks, not carry my baby and could not do the gentle postnatal yoga that had been essential to my well-being. I was also instructed to purchase a DVD entitled "How to Lose Your Mummy Tummy" (horribly offensive to women). It all felt wrong so I got a second opinion from a specialist in pelvic floor physical therapy. I actually had less than one finger separation (totally normal after pregnancy). If you are looking for pelvic floor PT, avoid this place. read more

I came to Pro Kinetics because the location was very convenient and they happily took my insurance. I had a pinched nerve in my elbow and wrist injury from work. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here. I went for a total of 5 sessions and ended up in a lot more pain than before I started. I think they really set back my healing. The therapist, Catherine, was very very aggressive and I left the office with bruises and I was in a great deal of new discomfort. It really delayed my healing and I think it did much more harm than good. I have consulted another therapist since, who was really surprised by Catherine's treatment and how aggressive she was. I am healing really well now since I left this practice. It also really bothered me that during most of my visits I was one of 3 or 4 patients in the room all together doing exercises with very little oversight or assistance. I felt like I got very little supervision/help during my sessions, I wasn't really sure I was doing the exercises correctly. Much of the time Catherine was sitting at her computer, not working with any us in the room. Im sorry to write a negative review but I felt pretty badly about the treatment I got at this practice. read more

I have been going to ProKinetics over the past few months, and I LOVE this place!! Lindy is awesome, funny, nice, very competent and very patient. She helped me heal my fractured ankle when I was 8 months pregnant (no easy task)!! She got me walking without crutches or a boot by the time my daughter was born, and since then I have been going for follow up appointments. Highly recommend the team here! read more

I can't understand how anyone could have a negative review of Catherine...I get injured very frequently ( i do/teach a lot of very high intensity workouts). I have been seeing Catherine for about 3 years (for various injuries). she's not only extremely knowledgable but has honestly been able to pinpoint he LOCATIOn of my injury (as opposed to where injury is radiating from) more than doctors and orthopedic specialists. This has happened twice....once I had abdominal pain and was told 1000 different things and Catherine figured out the pain was actually radiating from a back injury. When she worked on my back the pain went away. Then again this happened when I had shoulder pain and she figured out my pecs were actually extremely tight and pull on my shoulder ...again..she worked on my chest/pec area and shoulder pain went away. She is VERY strong , but i have never left NOT feeling better, again this is with several injuries and over several years....she is not a typical therapist that just massages you, does bullshit stretches and sends you on your way. she is going to work you to get the injury healed. read more

In my opinion, you cannot get better treatment than I received from Catherine and her assistants. ProKinetics has state of the art equipment and provides their patients with detailed exercise routines to do at home and to continue after you are discharged. I am very happy to have found Dr. Catherine. She and her staff are very efficient and they are always willing to help the patient. Unlike other Physical Therapy places, we are not seen as a business, but as human beings and that pleases me about it. Before knowing of Dr. Catherine´s, I did therapy in other 2 places and ProKinetics is the only place that do in deep physical therapy, but this is also the only place where the Doctor sees the patient and takes her time individually on a one on one therapy. At the same time she helps the patient physically, Dr. Catherine communicates with my doctors and is aware of my health, something very important that other facilities did not do. It is a blessing to have found Dr. Catherine and ProKinetics because I have noticed a change in my health since I started doing therapy here. ProKinetics is awesome. I recently had a surgery for my rotator cuff and they treated me with so much care. The environment is great and the employees really give you their attention. Getting treatment here has proved to be a logistical nightmare. I suffer pain in wrists, arms and shoulders from working on the computer, but Catherine will only work on one body part at the time. She can see no connection between the pain I feel in my wrists and arms and the pain I feel in the shoulders, even though it is all caused by the same activity. So u need to schedule a separate treatment appointment as well as a separate evaluation appointment for each body part. If you don't specify you need an evaluation and end up with a treatment appointment, she cannot change it to an evaluation appointment on the spot, so you need to come back for a new evaluation appointment. She's also seeing a lot of patients at the same time as JL points out. read more

I saw Catherine Addonizio for seven sessions of physical therapy over the course of about three months. The therapy was pelvic physical therapy for stress urinary incontinence when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or running, which had been a problem since the birth of my son ten years ago. I was only sorry that I had waited so long to address the issue. After an initial evaluation, she gave me several exercises which she explained patiently and thoroughly, and also gave me a sheet with the information to take home. She was very flexible in terms of allowing me to do the exercises in a way that fit in with my busy lifestyle. She used biofeedback as well as electrical muscle stimulation to teach me to regain bladder control. In just this short time the problem seems to have been completely corrected. Catherine was a pleasure to work with. She was very matter of fact and encouraging, which made me feel at ease with what could have been an embarrassing subject. She was flexible with scheduling around my availability. I would definitely recommend her most highly. read more

My experience has been nothing but positive! The therapist Catherine is very knowledgable and has helped me with both of my knee surgeries! She is very attentive and keeps a watchful eye to make sure your exercises are done properly. I drive all the way from Marine Park because Catherine was instrumental in getting me to attain magnificent conditioning with my knee replacement. Now I am returning after another knee surgery. Others have stated that they had to wait. I have been going for four months and haven't waited more than once. Where in today's activities does one never wait? Please really! I had to resubmit my review because I didn't know how to do the star rating. Believe me Catherine is better as a therapist then I on the computer.
