There were honestly SO many cute puppers and doggos that my heart was just melting all over the place. If you participate and you have your dog with you, they get a free bandana. I was expecting this to be a lot bigger, but then again, I was super late soo.. But there were lots of little kids, all the dogs were on leashes (duh). And you get to walk through this like super cute neighborhood and they have like signs and spray paint the ground with arrows so you don't get lost. Definitely doing this again next year! An amazing way to spend my puppy's first birthday! (She walked the whole thing, her friend Stella.. not so much).

Found street parking nearby and paid our $5 to enter for the day. Unfortunately we went straight upon entering vs cutting to the right, to where the featured food was located. We started w the chicken kebab (really dry), nicely grilled lamb chops (I think there were 4 for $18) and perfectly fried and seasoned fries. Shared a table with some nice men and decided on the Greek donuts as my next stop. As we head over there we saw that all of the other food I had planned to eat was in another building. Cafeteria style I ordered leg of lamb (good, but really small amount), pastitsio, Spaghetti Factory's myzithra pasta and spanakopita - $43.... Last stop were the donuts. Pictured, they looked like donut holes covered in honey and nuts. What we got looked like the dregs of batter from the fry basket. I even said to the lady - looks like sweet and sour pork. She even acknowledged the batter was not quite right but it tasted good. Welp, it was not good, not at all like the picture and greasy and as a rock. If it was coming out like that consistently I would have closed the booth until we could get it right.

After paying the five dollar admission fee, you can hear Greek music playing throughout the grounds. It is boisterous and entertaining. There were several places to purchase Greek food, offering many Greek delicacies. Some of my favorites were the Spanakopita, Gyros, and Phyllo Custard pastry. They also have many booths with souvenirs and various Greek items. They offer a nearby parking lot which provides ample parking for handicapped patrons. That was much appreciated.

We made the best of situation- The event had a good amount of wineries at the event. You could pay extra for the VIP tent- but from our experience, it did not seem worth the significant extra cost for the event. Overall, what we were disappointed about was the lack of food at the event- there were few vendors offering food. Its always good to have a good balance between food and wine. I am not sure if some vendors cancelled, and for that reason it lacked food? As for wine offerings, the selection was vast. The representatives from the different wineries were awesome in providing information on their wineries- and were kind in entertaining all my questions. The cooking demonstrations and wine talks were nice. All individuals who lead and participated in these events were great. And these events were covered from the storm. The bathroom situation was a bit off- for a fine event- I don't want to use a porter potty...they did have some other bathrooms but given the rainstorm, they were a mess and not taken care of thus very muddy. The volunteers and employees that were not representing the wineries were also great and worked hard. Given there are so many of these events in southern CA, if I would be good to another one that had a good balance between food and drinks.

I purchased our tickets for Saturday. The location had changed since I had last been several years ago. It was now a grassy lawn area, with large tents for cooking demonstrations and small covering each vendor. It happened to be a terribly rainy Saturday. It was slightly drizzly, with ongoing periods of downpour. The festival was rain or shine. Unfortunately, there was not a great plan for rain. We were given ponchos that ripped right away. The tents were not for patrons, but were for vendors. We did, at times, sit in the larger tents for the demos. There was plenty of seating, as well as lots of belly bars, which is much better than some of the food festivals that I have been to. Unfortunately, most of the tables and chairs were simply catching the rain, making them unusable. We were able to huddle under the sun umbrellas attached to the belly bars at times to escape the downpours. We decided to brave the storm and make the best of it holding our own umbrellas. It was quite a challenge to balance an umbrella, a wine glass, and a food tasting, but we did our best. Aside from the rain, the festival was really fun. Everyone was in surprisingly good humor about the rain. We met lots of other patrons and had great conversations. The vendors were all really friendly. There were lots of different wineries and distilleries from around California, and elsewhere. There were also vendors from local restaurants and farms. They had some musicians and cooking demonstrations. We probably would have gone to more demonstrations, but our schedule revolved more around the rain rather than the posted schedule. There were tons of wines featured, and quite a bit of food, but I do thin that they could have had more food vendors to balance the amount of wine. OLG Wines and Vara bubbly were two of my favorites. Also, we had access to the VIP area, which did give us access to some more high end wines. Though it was great to taste those, there were only two small bites in the area, and lots of unusable wet seating. I probably would not recommend VIP, as the value isn't worth the price. I think the VIP area should have had a bit more food, and perhaps a clean bathroom area. When we left, we were given souvenir wine glasses. I liked that as they were nice and clean, and we didn't stand the chance of breaking them during the day. We were also told that we could return for free the following day because of the rain. All in all, it is a great festival. I'm not terribly fond of the venue or the rain plan. It would be improved with a few more food stands. Perhaps I will return on a sunny day.

The beer was good, mixed drinks were very weak as they seemed to all be pre measured. Great screens and speakers for views from everywhere. Pit was great, not massively crowded. The food options were decent...didn't seem to have much variation as the many booths seemed to be repeats around the perimeter. In the back though were great options...wood fired pizzas, etc.

Having been to the Lavender Festival over the summer, this Festival was definitely low key in size, vendors, and ambiance which is not a bad thing at all. I was able to really take my time and peruse the area. I didn't feel rushed at all. I'd recommend purchasing the sour dough bread that is exclusive to the Ranch. I was able to purchase their Fig jam, the newest product they were offering. There weren't any food trucks this time around however, the food selections were on par. Definitely take advantage of building your own charcuterie board with their selections of cheeses, meats, and olives. Great wine selections. Because this Festival was markedly smaller, the venue also included a Pumpkin Patch for children with an array of activities and goodies. I brought my niece and nephew and they had fun. They got dressed for the occasion. We took advantage of the chicken egg harvest which included a tour, chicken interaction, and a chicken egg to bring home. Tickets were $7 this year. Free for the kids 12 and under. Parking $5 at the event. No shuttle. Definitely worth the trip for a low key fun weekend.

There was a ferris wheel for the children and you can take pictures with Santa. There could have been a little improvement here. When we arrived at 700pm, most of the food was gone and there were a lot of pastries and dessert. The good thing was the bar throughout the place, so I had my share of drinks. There was a a mini concert as well. Overall was Meh and I left an hour later and bar hopped with my friends instead.

A Miracle on El Paseo is easily head and shoulders above every other festival I have attended. Part of El Paseo is blocked off for the event, which included music, appetizers (both passed and available for pick-up at tables) from nearby restaurants, and multiple open bars sponsored by Lu Lu's. There was also a "tree lighting" ceremony emceed by ice skating legend Dorothy Hamill. All of this for $50! Suggestions for improvement: the local youth dance club who performed during the event were, well, just not very good. There may have been some "porta potties" located somewhere, but if there were, I didn't see them, and could have used one. Would also have been nice if Ms. Hamill would have stuck around a bit after the tree lighting and worked the crowd a little, but she was whisked away almost immediately.
