This is the worst hospital I have ever stepped foot in. I went there at 1:00am Saturday morning…read more10/7/2020 cause a had a painful cough and chest pain. They took me in and hooked me up to a EKG which looked fine. They asked a few more random questions and gave me a COVID-19 test. The Dr. was very rude and so were most of the nursing staff. Then there was a car wreck that came in and the informed me I would have to be moved. (They have given me nothing and ran no tests at this point) They put me in a room not much bigger then a decimal point, closed the door, and forgot about me. They came in a couple hours later with discharge paperwork telling me " quit drinking, eat healthier, and don't smoke pot... rest till you feel better". I went home with no answers. The following day I went to Kootenai medical where they did do tests and it turns out I have severe bronchitis and a intercostal strain from coughing so hard. I was given steroids and antibiotics along with pain meds. I have since followed up with my primary. Thank you Kootenai for everything you do. You are a far superior hospital. If you live in the silver valley and have time... do yourself a favor and go to Kootenai Medical. Shoshone Medical is a joke. I live in Mullan and even if I'm bleeding to death I hope I have enough blood to make it to Kootenai. Thanks but no thanks Shoshone.

Well kids, I'm here to tell you that woodchipper blades are sharp and dangerous even when not running. Anyway, the staff took great care of me. They were friendly, and professional while still being funny. And I later received a thank you note from Dr. Ragan, and RN's Brittany and Kelly. Next time I lean on a woodchipper blade BCH will definitely be my go to!

This review is primarily for the emergency room…read more We recently had to take our daughter to the emergency room because she had a scratch on one of her eyes. There was very little wait time, everybody was friendly and helpful. The whole medical team did an excellent job, they made her feel really safe and helped her with her nerves. They did a great job of figuring out what was wrong, telling us what we needed to do. Really appreciated the service that we received and appreciated that there was not a long wait time for triage or to be seen by a provider.

When I did get through to someone and asked for a name, I was told they were not at liberty to say. When I asked why I was being forwarded to security I was told, because they Don't Like Your Questions. I got a call from the head of security who threatened to have me arrested if I called again, then hung up on me. You will be better served at another of the many hospitals in the area Coeur d Alene, Spokane Valley or Spokane. This is in response to the negative comment above…read more Robert Blomquist has been a God-send for me. I have had chronic pain and headaches for several years. I've seen therapists, doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and the like. Robert was recommended by one of my practitioners, so I set up an appt. My first appt. was nothing short of miraculous! He released so much pain and pressure, I had a hard time believing what I was feeling - relief! His techniques are different, but that was the best part about it. He's the first therapist I've come across who truly understands referral pain and how the body works. The man found painful areas I didn't even know I had. He asked to work on my tailbone after a few appointments, to which I consented to after he explained how it may help. He kept me modest and brought in another practitioner to help. It wasn't a big deal. It's not much different than a masseuse working on your glutes. As it turns out, mine was slightly turned to one side, which he corrected. A visit to Robert requires an open mind and at least some understanding of how the human body works (or be willing to learn). Robert is a kind, gentle, and funny person. He's also a very uniquely skilled physical therapist. I highly recommend him to anyone in pain.

Its Board of Commissioners is really smart and is an excellent steward of the community's tax dollars. The Executive Leadership Team, led by Matt Forge, is bringing the hospital and clinics to an ever-higher level. The department leaders and all employees are patient service and quality focused. Patients are enjoying this, as patient experience surveys per CMS Hospital Compare website, are rating PRH as a Five Star hospital for "I Highly Recommend", "Cleanliness" and several additional categories. The providers and staff are truly the nicest, friendliest and most talented in the health care field. The people of the Palouse are blessed to have this amazing asset serving them. I thoroughly enjoyed serving there and will not forget my time working at PRH.

Yeah, sometimes there is a wait, but I went to kindergarten and learned to wait my turn, and I don't automatically assume my health issue is more important than the rest of the world.
