HELPFUL? No. This hospital chooses not to support a group…read moreof doctors in Kellogg who have started their own practice. I had tests done at the lab here. When asked about getting my results, they couldn't give me a positive answer as to if I or my doctor would be faxed the results. I wondered why I was even there? After waiting over a week to see if my hand was broken, I called hospital asking for a copy of radiology report. I had not indeed received a notification to my patient portal. Uncooperative! It's a county supported facility! This is just one of my less than satisfactory experiences at this facility. If you can make it to CDA for ER care you would be better off. Your physician will hopefully be served better than mine. Mine seems to have been singled out.

Sure, it's a small town and a small hospital. They didn't have an army of specialists and the newest diagnostic gadgets but what they did have was a team of caring and dedicated medical personnel who treated our friend with great compassion and respect. The people of Kellogg are lucky to live among such caring folks and to have such a competent hospital available when they need care. I don't recommend having a medical emergency anywhere but it's comforting to know that small town hospitals are available when needed.

I have had 3 surgeries there starting 15 years ago. My last surgery at Northwest was in July,…read more2025. The care and communication has fallen off to where I would never return. My pet got better care at our Vet. This IS NOT the best hospital in the area, as they claim. When I tried to get some answers regarding discharge practices and procedures, I was given the run around. When I did get through to someone and asked for a name, I was told they were not at liberty to say. When I asked why I was being forwarded to security I was told, because they Don't Like Your Questions. I got a call from the head of security who threatened to have me arrested if I called again, then hung up on me. You will be better served at another of the many hospitals in the area Coeur d Alene, Spokane Valley or Spokane. I also had 3 surgeries at Kootenai Medical and was given excellent care with all discharge practices clearly explained and followed. Good luck!

I previously gave a great review to the hospital. Unfortunately after my wife's recent total knee…read morereplacement I have had to revise my review. They have severe issues with staffing, competence. After her surgery she was brought to her room in uncontrollable pain. It appears the nerve block that was administered did not take, and The CRNA failed to inform the surgeon. He was also directed to perform a block after the surgery. He did not. I asked the staff for the next 5 hours to bring in a doctor or anesthesiologist. This never happened. It was only when I went to the nurses station and told them to prepare her to leave AMA, and I would be calling an ambulance to pick her up, did I finally get some help. Before leaving, the Doctor called in a prescription pain relief to Walgreens. When we arrived there, the pharmacist told me he couldn't fill narcotics with in 24hrs. It was very fortunate that I had recently had surgery and had pain medication with me. We also cancelled additional surgeries because of poor treatment with pain management , and staffing concerns. I would never have a procedure there again. I later had a procedure at another facility, and My wife later had 2 other surgeries at Holy Family. OMG, what a difference. She received the very best care, and actually left the hospital laughing. I would not recommend this campus to anyone considering a surgical procedure.

I've gotten panic attacks for years but never like this. I went in complaining of feeling like there was tightness in my chest and many more symptoms. The two women at the front desk were not necessarily super nice, but they did their jobs. But it was when I was taken back actually to the emergency room to see the nurses and doctors that I received absolutely amazing care. I got in very quickly and all of the nurses and doctors were amazing. Everyone went out of their way to try to comfort me and run every test to make sure that it really was a panic attack and that otherwise I was healthy. When the final diagnosis came, I was treated with respect, kindness, so much understanding, and empathy. I felt really stupid having to go in for something like that and embarrassed, but they went out of their way to try and quell those emotions. Mental health can be a tricky thing because sometimes you get treated like you're crazy but that is not the case at this ER. They make sure you're taken care of and they treat you with dignity.

They took me in and hooked me up to a EKG which looked fine. They asked a few more random questions and gave me a COVID-19 test. The Dr. was very rude and so were most of the nursing staff. Then there was a car wreck that came in and the informed me I would have to be moved. (They have given me nothing and ran no tests at this point) They put me in a room not much bigger then a decimal point, closed the door, and forgot about me. They came in a couple hours later with discharge paperwork telling me " quit drinking, eat healthier, and don't smoke pot... rest till you feel better". I went home with no answers. The following day I went to Kootenai medical where they did do tests and it turns out I have severe bronchitis and a intercostal strain from coughing so hard. I was given steroids and antibiotics along with pain meds. I have since followed up with my primary. Thank you Kootenai for everything you do. You are a far superior hospital. If you live in the silver valley and have time... do yourself a favor and go to Kootenai Medical. Shoshone Medical is a joke. I live in Mullan and even if I'm bleeding to death I hope I have enough blood to make it to Kootenai. Thanks but no thanks Shoshone.
