However, it is a great location as you would expect, jam packed with flyers for every type of event in Birmingham and the surrounding area. The staff are a fountain of knowledge too (unless you pick someone on their first day), however, my positive experience with the Visitor Information Centre is from a difference perspective, as an event organiser. Every time I have an event in the city, I take in few flyers and even if they can't fit them in the holders, they will display them on their desk and hand out to anyone that enquires about relevant events.

The building is full of leaflets helping the tourists and residents alike, negotiate Birmingham's varied art scene. They have flyers for absolutely everything. If you're interested in going to the theatre or cinema, taking a browse around a museum or you want to visit one of Birmingham's many parks and stately homes then this is the first port of call to discover times, costs and locations. Located in the centre of the town and only a two minute walk out of Birmingham New St Station you'll find the Visitor Centre where it is needed most. This centre becomes absorbed into the bustling German markets at Christmas time. Fairytale cottages surround the modern building as all of Frankfurt descends upon Birmingham for the busy winter season. Don't forget, if you can't find a friendly passer-by, the centre also does directions better than anyone. Take advantage and pick up your free city centre map from the kind and helpful staff.

Only on a couple of occasions have I managed to get inside, so I'm not entirely sure when this monument's opening times are! Once you do finally get into the grand piece of architecture, you are met by displays on every wall, which provide information about the Cadbury family (and the history of the Quakers). It's truly interested knowledge that's definitely worth a read! The building is as beautiful inside as it is out, with information carved into the walls, such as 'John Junior Cadbury 1906-2006' (I still can't believe he lived to be a hundred!) As well as the historical elements to this visitor centre, the shop also sells gifts such as jewellery, pens, wooden carved mushrooms and wooden carved owls. There's also a lot of replicated equipment from the Quaker period, such as old knifes and tea strainers. The Rest House is a great place to get a quick insight into Cadbury's, or to buy a present for someone. It is definitely a place I recommend visiting.

This is such a beautiful building and it really does remind me that Bournville is a Quaker village…read more It is beautifully placed on Bournville Green, which makes is look tranquil and very peaceful. Inside they have lots of history information about Bournville as a Quaker village and also lots of information about Cadbury's World, which I suppose is expected as it is such a short distance away. They also sell a few gifts and souvenirs inside, which is good for tourists and those who have not been to Bournville before. Even if you do not go into the centre, it is a lovely place to just go and sit near and relax and take in the loveliness of the green and the surroundings as Bournville is such a lovely part of Birmingham.

An unsung gem of the Welsh countryside (you'd be amazed how many people haven't heard of this place…read more- don't remain one of them). Park up at the visitor centre (£1) and take a long relaxing walk along the dam's retaining wall - with picturesque views down across the lower valley - or for a much more enriching experience, park on the access road on the other side of the reservoir, which you'll find by taking the B4501 from Denbigh. Apart from having access to the forest walk, there's a plethora of Bronze Age remains - cairns and burial mounds, and a ritual temple - to be found on the well-signposted archaeological trail. Interestingly, only 20 people were ever buried at this location during a 500 year period. You eventually work your way round to the visitor centre, housing a free interpretative exhibition, with a handy cafe and a toilet complex, attached. Whatever the weather (and we've been there on the wintriest of days) it's a fascinatingly eerie (drowned villages always are, somehow) and beautiful spot.

The roadway around part of the Llyn makes for easy walking for beginners but for the more adventurous there are plenty of other pathways too. A great place to cycle too if that's your bag.

Has a good range of leaflets for not only wolverhampton but other places such as Blackpool. Do tend to have a lot of strange people going in their such as homeless people, people with learning disabiltes who just come in to chat to the staff however this does detract them from the job they should be doing. Also have quite a few items of Wolverhampton memorabilia such as post cards, tankards etc

Situated right in the heart of the Brecon Beacons' glorious countryside, this is a reasonably sized…read morevisitor centre. Turning left (northbound) from the main road through the park, you cross over between two reservoirs and find yourself in a wooded area with pine needles strewn across the floor. The Visitor Centre offers good information on the geography, history and wildlife found in the park, and is a great place to bring children. This is a popular place for tourism and school trips: so be warned. Perhaps go on a week day. But all the attention means that the staff really know their stuff. Any question on the park should be met with good answers. They also have a good amount of information of activities, events and walks that can be experienced, and also about the Taff Trail and camping grounds. There is a small tearoom and several gift items to purchase. Perhaps this visitor centre isn't worth the drive by itself, but it's a great springboard into the rest of the park. Stop here before you start you major explorations.

Hi Qypers…read more Visited this centre today, easy to find, just behind Nando's in Trinity Street. Very friendly assistant was willing and very able to provide lots of information about this venue and dig site. Entrance is free. If anyone needs to show friends any medieval sites and historic sites in Coventry, this is the place to go to. Guided tours can be booked but please ring the centre fo find out more. Also, this is a place that the "Time Team" had their instruments help to unearth The Priory Visitor Centre and Undercrofts are conveniently found near the Cathedral and Holy Trinity Church. Enjoy :)

From theatre listings to events to new openings to stuff to do in the kids holidays...you'll find tons of great tips here. Also loads of the leaflets have money off coupons in them too so you might end up picking up a bargain too! It's great for gifts too as they have some great souvenirs and Mancunian memorabilia and the best range of postcards in the city! Worth a look if you know people who've left Manchester, send them a postcard and tell them what you're missing! Obviously a place to head to if you're new to the city too...the staff are really helpful.

I told the guy who worked there that I was a Smiths fan and wanted to know where all the sites or places of importance were since my tour guide was at work. He quickly wrote down all of the best spots for me and let me charge my phone. Everyone there was very helpful, they had free maps of the city and also had this cool digital table map thing. Out of all the cities I visited in the UK the only souvenirs that I purchased were from Manchester. I love my 'I heart MCR' and 'on the sixth day..' mug.
