I have never recieved such good service at a shop before, let alone a children's shoe shop! I purchased my daughter a pair of school shoes in August and Bev (a member of staff) was helpful, kind and honest. I travel from Devon every summer to this shoe shop as I know the service is excellent and my children always have their shoes fitted exceptionally here (despite one having orthotics and the other having very wide feet). The shop was full of customers, and with 5 members of staff working we all recieved excellent service, despite how tired the staff must have been (they were discussing who was going for lunch next and it was 4pm!!). I used to shop in Shuzu's Alton branch when it was open; however, I am thrilled to see that sisters Tammy and Kylie were still working in Farnboroughs store. They have always given our son and daughter excellent service with a smile. I feel we are always given the best expert knowledge on the shoes and their brands, to ensure we do the best for our children. My sister visited the shop again today with her daughter and passes on such excellant feedback. She too got served by a young girl which gave her excellent service. The main positive about this shoe shop is that staff will go out of their way to get a pair of shoes to fit, especially if your children have awkward feet! I have ordered shoes from Start Rite, Hush Puppies and even from Germany. The staff are always honest. If my children have not grown they will NEVER force you to buy a pair of shoes, but suggests you come back in X amount of time. Overall I wish all shops were like this, well done to all the members of staff that work here. What a lovely little shop! I visited this week to buy my granddaughter some new school shoes. I was going to take her to Clarks that is where I bought shool shoes for both of my children and where my school shoes came from when I was a child so I was a bit surprised when my daughter said that she found startrite to be better for my grandaughter's narrow feet and that she had more confidence in the experienced staff at this tiny little shop in the heart of tiny little North Camp village rather than the fresh-from-school shop assistants in big town centre high street stores. Well, who am I so argue? So I had a quick look on line (I have to be honest and say that their web site didn't impress me) and I found another much larger shop selling startrite shoes, so I kind of thought to myself that if this place was no good, I could just drive to the other shop and get some there. Well, there was no need! The shop was reasonably busy there were several other families in there and clearly the store staff were still dealing with a recent delivery, but despite that my granddaughter and I were given attention very quickly indeed. The lady who served us was lovely friendly and instantly likeable without being overbearing at all. She measured my granddaughters feet and then fetched a selection of school shoes of the correct size and width fitting for her to try on. We didn't feel at all rushed, but at the same time we were not kept hanging around for ages despite the shop being busy, and just a short while later we were off with new shoes and big smiles! The prices were reasonable, the staff happy and friendly, the service exemplary, the choice of styles more than adequate, the location convenient and all in all probably one of the easiest school shoe buying experiences I've ever had! I have been buying my children's shoes here for the last 2 years, it was recommended to me by a friend after I was fed up with the lack of choice at my local Clarkes. I have never been disappointed with the friendly service, expert measuring offered and the large choice of shoes on offer, one of my children is very fussy & another is particularly hard to fit as she has very slim feet so we are not always the easiest of customers, but despite this I have always found the staff very patient and willing to go to lengths to please my fussy child like ordering in shoes especially, I along with many others was there recently buying school shoes, it was very busy and I counted 5 members of staff rushed off their feet yet I felt we were still given excellent service and the lady that served us gave us just as much care and attention that we always receive despite there being many people waiting, we did not feel rushed at all. I cannot fault the service at all by any of the staff members that have served us over the last 2 years and I think we have probably been served by most of them, so I am gobsmacked by the aggressive harsh review given by CANDYCAT as this does not sound like the shop I know. I will not be put off by her comments and I will continue buying my children's shoes from there as I cannot fault the customer service at all. My children are happy as they get their lolly for being good, I am happy as they are wearing sensible but trendy shoes and my husband is happy as I can buy boots there for myself at a fraction of what they cost in an 'adult' shoe shop.
