Compared to Long-McQuade in Downtown Victoria, both can benefit the music enthusiast. L-M doesn't have grand pianos, or high end digital pianos. However, L-M gives Tom Lee a run for their money in sheet music selection.

Mostly are done in Chinese, but I believe that they can also teach in English. They have private tutoring classes as well in Chinese string and woodwind instruments. It's a husband and wife team. Mrs Cheng, a beautiful woman and her husband are well known in the Chinese classical music industry in Canada. They have a number of CD's of various music in their collection of performances. We were shown the $800 dollar GuZheng, but that wasn't what Mum wanted so Mrs Cheng brought our a few others to show. When the final selection was made and the purchase done, she tuned the instrument, offered the free stand and the free chair. We didn't get the chair, but daughter will get it next time. The ones that they had at the time were too small. There was a mumbling in the car of how expensive it was, but that it was more affordable than the other places. The Daughter hopefully really likes it (which she did) and that she'll take the lessons and learn it well. If not, Mom will take lessons! The service was quite nice. And after Daughters first class, she said that she enjoyed it. Soon, the melodic tunes of the skillfull GuZheng student will fill the air in the house with music. A Rhapsody in progress.

I don't know a whole lot about drums, but they were so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Jeff painstakingly helped me place everything in my tiny BMW, and they threw in a whole bunch of helpful things and parts. To put the cherry on top, not an hour ago, Jeff came by my place to give me a couple washers that were missing from the kit (had likely fallen off when loading). Well hell ya, I would never have noticed that anyway, so that was incredible. Friendly, smart, and would choose them again, have lots of cool music gear!! Go Alloy Music!

All I can tell you is the experience I had taking group fiddle lessons at Tapestry just before they…read moremoved to Bay St. I paid $80 and what a waste of money that was! So very little time was actually spent teaching us fiddle! The young lady spent most of the 1 hour lessons tuning our fiddles and then there was maybe 15 minutes left actually teaching us something. It obviously would have been far more productive if the lessons had been at least 90 minutes, then we would have had time to actually learn something. I wonder if it's too late to get my money back⁉
