I had NEVER done Pilates before, but a friend heard about this studio in my neighborhood and I…read moredecided to take the plunge. The studio is clean and welcoming. There is street parking available. I took a beginner/basics/level 1 class with Jan Church. It was great! and Jan was great at helping me jump right into things, getting oriented on the reformer and on the terminology for how things work on the machine. I've taken at least three classes with her and I love it. It feels like I have finally found a form of exercise which I tolerate (it's almost even FUN) and even kinda look forward to (this is UNIQUE for me. I'm NOT a gym person...and sometimes yoga is nice but sometimes feels really slow). The class speeds by and afterwards I feel my body has gotten a great workout and I can tell my core and muscles are starting to build. I'm doing this for the inner feel-good feeling and I'm really happy this place is near me. Definitely recommend this!

I purchased passes for a foster youth I am supporting so they could participate in Pilates. During…read morethat process, it became clear that there would be challenges enrolling them due to their living situation, age, and language barriers. I reached out twice to explain the situation and request a refund. After some delay, I received the following response: "Thank you for following up, and I appreciate you sharing more context around the foster youth you're supporting. I did review the account and see one single-class purchase under your name and two class purchases under the account for XX (on Oct 30th). I don't see any notes indicating that you or the caregiver reached out to book directly through our admin team, which is something we're always happy to assist with--especially in situations where confidentiality or technical limitations are a concern. Regarding your refund request: per our policy, class purchases are generally non-refundable. That said, we can offer support in a few other ways if helpful--such as booking classes directly on the caregiver's behalf, transferring the remaining classes to another participant, or helping find a class that may be a better fit. If continuing feels like the right path, I'd recommend Candace's Level 1 class on Thursdays at 5:00pm. January 8th is the next available date on the schedule at the Mid City location Please let me know how you'd like to proceed, and we'll do our best to support you within our policies." I'm disappointed by how this situation was handled. I purchased classes specifically for a foster youth I'm supporting, with the intention of giving them access to movement and community. Once it became clear that their living situation, age, and language barriers would make participation difficult, I reached out hoping for flexibility so that those limited funds could be redirected toward something more accessible for them. I understand policies exist for a reason, and I respect them. However, there are moments--especially when supporting vulnerable youth--where discretion and compassion matter just as much as policy. While I appreciate the explanation and alternative options offered, I'm disappointed that a refund was not considered given the circumstances. This wasn't a change of mind or misuse of services; it was an attempt to do something good that ultimately wasn't feasible. I'm sharing this not to argue policy, but to express that the outcome feels misaligned with the values many wellness spaces publicly stand for.
