Sierra's yoga for seniors has been life changing for me. I've done 3 complete cycles of her six week program and am half way through the fourth. I am stronger and more flexible. I can get off the floor with more ease and a bit of grace. I enjoy the meditation that is woven in the course structure. Now just hearing the soothing music brings me into present time. I first studied yoga in 1968...through the years I tried yoga classes, yoga books and yoga videos. Till I met Sierra I either lost  interest or  ended up hurting myself. Since I met Sierra I have done yoga nearly every day. I have taken her classes and private lessons  . She has a great intuitive sense of working within the student's strengths and limitations. Sierra is a wonderful yoga instructor. I enrolled in her 21-Day Immersion -during our shelter in place period. The videos, handouts, and four Zoom sessions were an organized intensive deep dive into yoga for strength, flexibility, calming, etc. I only wish I would have been a bit more diligent to have repeated each video at least twice before the 21 days ended. Highly recommend Sierra if you want a safe and effective yoga experience - excellent for beginners and regular practitioners. read more

Sierra is amazingly knowledgeable on how the human body works and the challenges we face from aging and daily life. This is the first yoga class I have taken on zoom that I can actually follow (and is adapted for more than one level). I adore Sierra. She's very professional, knowledgeable, gently challenging and fun. Our class of gentle yoga is perfect for me. I love that she encourages you to push yourself but also to respect yourself and make your practice your own. You are encouraged to only challenge and compete, so to speak, with yourself and that it doesn't matter what any other participants are doing or what they look like doing it. Sierra has a lot of respect and appreciation for diversity of all types in her classes. She's never been late to a class in my three years of taking classes with her and always informs in advance of any absences. I would also definitely encourage any older person to take her aging gracefully series of classes and/or workshops. You can't go wrong. If you are just getting into yoga, don't have a "perfect" body type, are older or simply don't want your yoga practice to feel competitive, rushed and overly athletic, Sierra is the instructor for you. Don't get me wrong though, you WILL gain strength and skill in your own time. Try her out! read more

Sierra is a very thorough and knowledgeable instructor. She came to my home and brought a beautiful yogic ambiance and sweet demeanor. She spent 45 minutes with me doing a thorough assessment, and then showed me a couple things. At our next session she had mapped out a complete program for me that included the physical therapy I was already doing. She's made the whole process of knee recovery more effective and fun with my own custom yoga practice. This is a truly wonderful and effective service! read more

Yoga therapy is a cool service. I'm new to yoga. I was looking for some sort of meditation that would also get my body moving. I knew yoga would be good for me. I'd taken yoga classes in the past but always felt lost at times. This was one-on-one and the routine was designed around me. I told Sierra I wanted to quiet my mind and connect with my body. I also noted that I have chronic pain in my ankles. Sierra noticed some things about my neck and feet while looking me over. She took that information and came back with a series of postures for me to do. I was impressed how they really addressed my areas of need. She explained the postures and was right there with me so I knew how much to stretch and when I should use a modification. That's something I'd never gotten in a yoga class. Personal attention. I've worked with Sierra in several contexts: her yoga immersion group, a zoom based class, and individual sessions (before Covid). I can't praise her enough. I'm older, new to yoga, and challenged by several old injuries. She's adept at making you comfortable. Her practices are tailored to respond to individual circumstances and adapted to physical limitations, and she paces them well enough to challenge but not cause a risk of injury. She takes a great deal of care to be fair in her pricing, and she usually seems to offer some sort of accommodation to make her sessions affordable. I've always felt I got my money's worth. Personally, I'm also interested in the spiritual and philosophical side of yoga, and there she really shines: her knowledge is awe inspiring. read more

Sierra Moore's yoga is amazing. She brings a beautiful calmness and presence that feels really good and immediately relaxes you. Sierra came to my home and spent a long time interviewing me about all aspects of my lifestyle. She covered all my health issues, my eating and sleep patterns and any aches and pains I might have. Then she devised a yoga practice specifically for me and my needs. She painstakingly went through the entire practice with me, making sure I understood each pose and was clear on how to do it. I have never had so much attention to my particular situation and have never had a program put together especially for me. It was so special. I have never been to a yoga class nor tried yoga for that matter before I started going to Sierra's yoga class. I started yoga for a medical condition that I was diagnosed with and my doctor telling me I should consider trying yoga to help with controlling the pains that I get. I was nervous at first to start attending a class because I am very shy :) and trying something new with a group of new people was definitely a bit nerve wrecking. However the moment I spoke with Sierra once I introduced myself and my concerns, I felt a sense of ease that I got from her energy. Once the class started and she began instructing, she was very clear with her pose guiding and kept the flow of the class gentle but not too slow. I really like how she reminds us that it's normal for our minds to try and focus on perfecting poses rather than feeling our way into it, this was where I felt maybe yoga wasn't for me in the beginning since I am so used to perfecting something by focusing so much on it. That is now my number one tip when I am practicing. I definitely noticed the results just from the few classes that I've been able to attend and bringing the practice home and working on some of the poses that I feel most relief from. I have seen a difference in my appetite as well!!!! Which is major for me!! I've even noticed a better tone to my muscle form!! ^_^ A perk I wasn't aware of. Any who, Sierra is great! Her energy is lovely. When my schedule allows the time for going to more classes, I definitely make sure I find my way to her class. Only downside to yoga is my tailbone causing pain during certain poses even after using 2-3 mats. I will have to talk to Sierra and figure a gentler pose to do during those ones that work the areas she is guiding us on. Working with Sierra was a real pleasure. I appreciated her mix of genuine engagement and caring, along with her professional attitude, groundedness, and knowledge. She framed our yoga therapy session clearly, explaining the ways it is similar to/differs from a yoga class, and helped me get a clear sense of what I could expect to "get out of" the session. I have a lower back injury and sit all day long at work, so I wanted to create a daily practice to increase my comfort (It's hard for me to figure out what to do on my own sometimes). She did a thorough "intake"/interview process to get a sense of my state (body, mind and spirit), learned about my daily habits and needs, selected poses, watched me do the poses in a nuanced way, and gave great pointers and adjustments. Sierra accommodated all I know about my injury and what my body likes and doesn't like, while also bringing in her expertise to synthesize a plan for me and answer my questions. Sierra created a great yoga routine that is a good, accessible length--not too cumbersome to do every day. Just in the few weeks since we created the routine, I notice my ability to sit with my clients without being in pain has improved. It was very cool that she brought great music and high quality compact speakers with her. The sound helped me get relaxed and in the flow. She also brought yoga blocks which were helpful. I was so relaxed at the end of the session that while she wrote up my sparkling new yoga routine so I could remember it, I went into a peaceful floaty netherworld in Savasana and nearly fell asleep. I loved that this service gave me the direct hands-on feedback of a class but was totally fitted to my schedule and tailored to my specific needs. I feel thankful for Sierra every morning as I go straight into my yoga routine with a clear direction, and flow with more strength and flexibility into my day. read more
