I use to work at Serria Vista back in the 80's. It used to be happening. You had Gottchalks, Sears, Mervyns, Payless shoes, Carl's Jr. Coach House, New York & Co. Cresent Jewelry, Miller's Outpost, Kaybe Toys, Rave Colthing, King Arthur Arcade, Wilson's Leather, Round Table Pizza, Chinese Food, Hamburgers, Hot Dog on a Stick, Barnes and Noble, Hickery Farms, Game Stop, Things to Remember, Victoria Secerets, and a bunch of other mom and pop shops. Good morning! My name is Jennifer and I have been a loyal customer to the Sierra Vista Mall since I was a toddler. I have watched as it has grown . . . and as it has declined. I have raised my kids going to this mall. I was a loyal patron of Mervyns when it existed. I watched as the theater expanded to a new location. My kids were over the moon excited for a Willy Wonka Themed candy store to come in - Powell's as it was once called. We moved away to another state when my youngest was 3 in 2008. Family was still here. When we would come home to visit, it had to be their first stop. It was like walking into a small Disneyland. The joy it brought to their faces. As the saying goes, "Like a kid in a candy shop". Their little faces would light up upon entering one step. They always left with a bag of candy and huge smiles. As we moved from state to state, and back to California in 2014, we still lived out of the area. But still, with every time we came home, Powell's (now named Abigails) was the first stop. Unfortunately, this time around, we noticed a new company brought in. Yet, another candy shop. This candy shop, Chocolate Wishes, started to copy each and every thing that Powell's / Abigail's did. It was unfair enough for the mall to give them a location, directly next door, when they were running the same type of business. Now, I don't know either owner. But I do know, the mall has shown unfair practices by this placement. I don't see two nail salons side by side. I don't see two jewelry shops side by side. I don't see the new Korean corn dog place, side by side to Hot Dog on a Stick. We moved back home in 2019 and frequent Abigail's. It still shows the charm and brings the happiness to kids' faces. But I'm wondering still, why a shop with the same type of business is allowed directly next door. And allowed to virtually copy everything Abigail's does. This shows extremely bad practice by the mall itself. It's bad enough the inside of the mall is on a downhill slide. It almost looks vacant. The children's play area is long gone. No decorations at Christmas hanging from the rafters. No music playing. Stores are leaving. The library kiosk was even sadly removed, which brought books to those who don't live near the one and only library in town. The mall now concentrates on only the outside shopping area. The inside, is on the brink of closing. It can't keep businesses. Those that it has are left fighting against a next-door competitor. To make matters worse, I have noticed those making deliveries have nowhere to park. Parking enforcement is non-existent as patrons are using loading zones to park their vehicles to go shopping. Sierra Vista is close to my work so I find myself here all the time. They have a target and Kohls that are my 2 main stops for there. They are not where I would choose to go when I want to do some major shopping. Besides the target and Kohls they really don't have much else shopping wise. I think there is a Bath & body works and a sears but I never shop at those places. I do go to their food court pretty often but the traffic and parking sucks there. If you go anytime from 11 am to 2 pm expect to circle 12 times looking for a spot. I usually give up and park in the back and have to walk across the lot to get to where I want. The layout of the parking stalls is odd and makes it a narrow space to maneuver. I completely avoid this mall during holidays just because I don't want to get hit lol. On the plus side, the mall on the inside is cool from the heat and its fairly empty of people (Target & food court are separate from inside mall). Thai smaller quaint shopping mall is just east of Fresno on Shaw. I visited the mall to go to Sears to find tool for my hubby. He happened to be shopping a while so I decided to explore. There were many stores that I shop at often. They were smaller but still fully stocked as needed. The restrooms were clean which is a big deal to me. There was a diverse team of employees in the stores that I passed. There was also a delicious scent of pretzels baking. Due to it not being as busy as the Fresno mall I may visit here more often to shop. I take my kids to the no surrender and the movies. The movie theater is on the outside but it is a very nice theater and has many options seating wise. There is also a go cart track that is indoors which is very popular but I have not been yet. read more

Went to Sierra Vista Mall today for face-to-face social networking searching for a job. It was heartbreaking how many stores were vacant & others had merchandise, but not open. This was once "the mall" to shop at. Realize part of the vacancy is due to Covid-19. The other is so many people who shop online. Personally I'm one who likes to walk the mall, touch the pretty blouse, try on the cute pants, run into a friend and go grab a pretzel & coffee. Hope they find a way to survive! This mall is dead... 4+ stores closed in this year alone. There's one rental space in particular that has had 3 different businesses move in and out for good. The spot is now currently empty. Most of the mall is just empty rental spots with a few good stores like Victoria's Secret, Gamestop, Kohls, Bath & Bodyworks, etc. It's depressing because the mall is nice, clean. and has a great outdoor area and theater. It's certainly got potential, but it's a risky decision for businesses to move in because of a lack of customers and foot traffic. Luckily the mall has been purchased by a New York private mall operator as of July 31, 2019 so I hope they can revive it and turn it into somewhere worth going to. read more

WOW!! What has happened to Sierra Vista Mall? Did someone buy it as a tax write off? Totally neglected, smelly trash along the back. Landscaping dying, no tenants inside worth visiting. They need to invest some money into revitalizing it. Maybe even open the entire side facing Shaw Ave so it is more consumer friendly!! 2 1/2 Stars think whomever designed this mall does want people to spend too much time in doors. There are a handful of stores inside then the rest are outside. No fun if it's a hot day or pouring outside. I have to be honest, the 2 stars description is fitting for this place. "Meh. I've experienced better" I've been here a few times and it always gets me wondering how do the businesses stay open. I tell myself rent for the space must be cheap. Why? Because I've never seen this mall "full". There is hardly any foot traffic. Several vacant stores even in the new expanded outdoor area. The place does feel sad as someone mentioned. It doesn't give you that bright exciting feeling. It's a bit down and the lighting and brightness here is gloomy--even during the holidays. The inside is dated and screams 80s mall. Despite that though they do keep it up well. It is clean and everything works and they do make an effort during holidays to decorate it nicely, but again just the color palette of the inside of the mall is what gives that dreary gloomy feel. It doesn't feel like a hip place to be at, which is sometimes needed for a successful mall. There are a lot of stores here that seem to be one off local stores and not many big popular named chain stores. The do have a Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works. For you sneakerheads looking to cop the latest Jordans---NOPE. No big sneaker store, not even one. No Footlocker, no shoe palace, no finishline, no footaction, no shiek, etc. They do have a Claire's, a Hot dog on a stick. A Kohl's, Target, and a nice movie theater which I hear is recently converting seats to recliners. This mall has potential with some renovations and importantly getting big name and higher end stores. Until then it will just be this stagnant space. Because of that though it's nice to just walk and contemplate here. What amazes me is the mall does seem to try. They have events, concerts, Santa is here during the holidays. So it amazes me how they get the funds because I hardly see any people here. If you are in town from the Bay Area or elsewhere, your only true happening indoor mall here in the big city of Fresno and Clovis (combined over 600,000+ population) is Fashion Fair Mall. With Manchester set to be renovated that might be the 2nd, but maybe eventually Sierra Vista will one day renovate to be a successful mall that it should be. read more

Almost forgot to mention Round Table, Hot Dog on a Stick, Pretzelmaker, Hungry Bear Cookies, Carl's Jr. It's hard to not overstate just how much of my early childhood this mall shaped. For years after we stopped going, I would still have dreams of me wandering around here. There was nothing I looked forward to more than a weekend there with my mom (of course, Target and the old UA theater were often included in the plans). As time went by, we went less, but the real decline I believe started after the 2008 financial crisis. KB closing as a kid killed me, but after Mervyn's left, our primary reason for going did, too. The expansion(s)... I wasn't the biggest fan, and don't believe they've reversed the trend. Mall culture is dying, there's more competition, demographic changes, Americans living paycheck-to-paycheck. Pretty eerie to visit and see how many empty spaces and unlit areas there were. This is a great little mall with a bunch of little mom and pop shops and a few Chain stores. The amount of companies operating here is on the increase and There is plenty of entertainment. They keep the mall very clean and keep out most of the problem makers. The events are fun and full of vendors which is always great. I also like the concert are when they have something going on. It almost seems like there are four different areas in one: (1) Target, (2) outlying dining establishments, (3) the old indoor mall, and (4) the hip dining and entertainment outdoor area...including eateries, the raceway, a candy shop and the movie theater. This mall has a little for everyone..whether you want to just lollygag in free air conditioning and check out Sears, a pretzel place, jewelry shops, Things Remembered and Bath and Body Works...or to enjoy a cool evening with fire and water features before catching a movie or meal, or grab a meal with your family at Baja Fresh or Red Robin...or grab socks or milk at Target. In the summer, there are events for the family, around Christmas time, they have events for the kids, and all year long this is a good location to part with your money or kill time. I like this small town mall with small shops, lots of space and no drama. You can come early before the shops open and walk around in the a/c to beat the heat. Hit one of the anchor stores for your main shopping needs then walk around and go to the locally owned stores for that impulse buy. There are a couple of great places for the kids to play at and a very nice movie theater. If you get hungry there are restaurants all over the place to appease anyone's appetite. This is not the high end stuff that some of the other places have, but a good place to take your family. read more

This place is very sad. I would say about 50% of the stores are empty. They have a Sears and a Kohls, and several smaller stores, but we were at this mall for less than 30 minutes. They do have a couple of restaurants/eateries near the movie theater but not much else. Parking is super easy as there were not very many people in sight. read more

Worst mall in the area if it can even be called a mall. When you notice that the anchor store id Kohls, you know there many not be a huge chance to find the the dress of your dreams. Ahhh...the "Mall", it has seen better days, I do come here for the vitamins and perhaps a few other things, but I'm really not a mall kinda guy, in the summertime it's very popular due to the cool air conditioning and ice cream is always a bonus. This is my go-to mall because it's less the hassle of having to drive to Fashion Fair, finding parking, and having to say excuse me every time I have to squeeze through a crowd (which is every 1 minute). Sierra Vista Mall may not have all of the stores, but it has enough to where you can get what you need.. It's very clean and quiet, which I love most about it. The guest service booth is wonderful.. The workers there are so great with helping you find a store and not only that, they know so much about the events going around in town! Ask for Jacqueline if you need someone from the guest service booth.. She is awesome! Love the Jungle Gym for the kids. Nice place to bring your kiddos on a Sunday. It has everything for them, but I'll leave that for another review. There are a variety of food that can be found here such as hot dogs, pretzels, Chinese food.. Chipotle and all the other goodies are down the parking lot if you want to explore some more! This mall also has Sears and Kohls as well. Target is just a stroll down the street so it's very convenient! I don't know why people complains that there's nothing here. It's a wonderful and easy place to get by. You get in and out! With Fashion Fair, imagine how much you have to walk just to get back to your car... (Depending where you park). Love it here and will always come back! read more

The cinema,chipotle, and target is what is keeping this place afloat because really that's all that attracts people here. The arcade is small and pathetic to be quite honest. There are many small businesses here that come and go because this mall doesn't appeal to many people, it is lacking stores that are unique. So far my favorite mall in the Fresno area. This mall is a complex consisting of several buildings and many activities. I can't walk this complex in one day. There is so much to do. I never even heard of Clovis before this. I was at Fresno state then searched for malls nearby. Anyway clovis is a hillbilly small town outside Fresno. This mall sucks, literally! Looks like they over try to be a nice mall. Like a 40 year old woman trying to look 21. The inside is old and there's no good stores here. Far from freeway access. I don't mean to sound bitchy but they shouldn't hire big ugly people at malls. Only good thing about this mall is that there's a theater next to it. Sierra vista doesn't even seem like a mall. There's only a couple of stores around. No one really comes here because so many of the stores are closed down. Some of the great stores are: azkara, bath and body works, Le Bella rose, and Claire's. The rest are just the restaurants outside. I believe if they opened more stores and instead of the restaurants being outside having it inside as a food court would pull more of the customers to come. The MB2 raceway and the movie theater can be outside because it can be easier for the people to walk in and out. read more
