If your looking to get ripped off this is the place to go. Don't try to sell any jewelry here. They will only offer you about 60% of the scrap value for any gold jewelry. I understand they need to make money too but they are just rip off artists. I do not recommend selling any jewelry to this place. The lady at the counter was super rude too. read more

From the over priced used items down to the obnoxious and rude staff This is truly by far WORST pawn shop i have ever went to . If i could give 0 stars i would . Also would not recommend buying there electronics !!!!! trying to save you money and time . They work for about 2 days and then after shut off on you ! And there best excuse is that since it happened in 2 days and not 24 hours ( which i tried multiple times to contact and also left voice mails ) all they can do is give a very slight percent off the same item which i still have to go out of pocket and pay for again . When this business came around about 3 years ago, they were actually really good & competitive with the other area shops- offering more for items & having a larger selection than other stores. There was this older gentleman who worked there who, in my opinion, needs to come back. He was affable & optimistic; he treated each customer with dignity & respect. Over time, they ended up forcing 2 out of 3 of the remaining pawn shops out of Bristol. Shortly after their successful takeover of all the Route 6 Pawn Shops, they got rid of the old guy, replaced him with an immensely unpleasant woman, jacked the prices up on their sale items & became very picky about the items they take in- forgoing any level of expertise & basing all pricing based on the eBay market, without regard to whether the items on eBay are a reproduction (compared to an original copy being presented for sale). This was annoying, but as they're the only pawn shop in the immediate area, my girlfriend and I would still shop there and occasionally sell unwanted items to them. As for the shop itself, it's your traditional pawn shop in a lot of ways. When you walk in, you're met with that overpowering pawn shop odor- a combination of poor ventilation & musty moldy basement. You're also met with the same junk stuff that's been there forever- an old student desk/chair they grabbed from Savers, some tag sale-eque tables of overpriced As Seen on TV stuff, collectible cars, toys, & laptop computers that are being sold for "new" prices. Their aisles are filled with outdated LCD & LED TVs & desktop PC monitors at premium prices, 30-50 year old stereo receivers for $100+, & a bunch of tools that never move. As you head to the back, there are records, guitars, jewelry, & pocket knives, all at- you guessed it- extremely high prices. Rounding out the shop brings you over towards the sales desk/movie/video game area. The prices for their media, mind you, are all subject to change- depending on the eBay market. If you give them a game to buy, they'll now do a check on eBay, & charge you the eBay price. It's really off-putting, as when I go to the pawn shop, I'm looking to get a good deal. If I wanted to pay eBay prices, I would buy directly from the sellers on eBay. Despite all this- it's the only pawn shop in the immediate area, and we dealt with it. Until today. My girlfriend and I came by to sell two of our old Gameboy games- Pokemon Red & Pokemon Gold. We already checked their eBay listings in advance so we knew what to ask for. We went up to the woman & asked for $25 for the 2 games. We even brought a Gameboy with us so they could test the games. The woman tests the 1st game (Pokemon Red) with our system; it works, as it should. She then yanks the cartridge right out of the Gameboy, freezing the image on the screen. After fixing the system for her, the woman puts in the Pokemon Gold cartridge. I hear the game music playing, and she's staring at the game for minutes. She then asked my girlfriend, "is this yours?". Why wouldn't it be? Whose game would it be instead? My girlfriend answers her. The woman then says, "this is the wrong game". Perplexed, especially as she tested the game before bringing it in, and just heard the theme song, she questions her. We're told it's a different game, because it would say "Welcome to Pokemon gold" (no, it does not say that). My girlfriend took back the Gameboy, turned it back on, and clear as day, the title screen appears. The woman then tried to cover herself after blaming us for trying to pass off the wrong game, saying someone came in & did that to them the other day- sold a game for $60, but a cheap game was inside the cartridge instead. While I feel bad that happened to her, WHY would we offer a Gameboy to test our games on if we were trying to scam her? As repeat customers since their opening, why would we want to hurt our reputation? There was no reason for her to assume we were scamming her other than her own paranoia and ignorance. We already liked going there less since their monopolization. Now, I don't want to go at all until they get an employee who actually knows videogames. I'd rather patronize Platinum Pawn instead. read more

I was looking for some hard to find items and my friend recommended this place to me, telling me about the wonderful experience she had there. My husband has also had a great time at the shop. I wish I could say the same. The store itself is set up well and items are easy to locate. It's organized and rather neat compared to other pawn shops. While I was there, three teenagers were literally running around the store and no one asked them to stop. Twice they almost crashed into me. It made me very nervous. But that's not the problem. The problem is the way I was treated. I am autistic. I get nervous in new stores when I am by myself. I had trouble asking for what I needed because of verbal communication issues. When I finally did, the employee laughed at me. I was looking for a collectible figure, and I said the wrong word and got laughed at for looking for a "doll." When I was finally able to explain exactly what it is, I was treated as if I was stupid because the employee had never heard of such a thing. After this experience, I will never return to any locations of this shop. Maybe the employee didn't "intend" to make me feel bad by laughing at what I was looking for, but I felt awful. Maybe employees need to be reminded that unless they know the customer really well, don't laugh at them or what they are looking for. read more

saw their ad on Facebook Marketplace for Vinyl lp records.. you should really update your ad on there. you definetly do not have too many. you had maybe 100 yet your pictures on marketplace showed tables full of albums... none were $3 as you say in your ad. We drove 45 mins based on your ad. you should update your pictures because what you had didnt even fill a whole table yet you show 3 tables full. Very misleading ad my friend.. you had for $29.99 a beat up Michael Jackson Thriller album. they can be purchased in much better condition (and yes the 80's press) for cheaper or newer press for around what you are asking or less. not trying to be harsh but lets be real your ad is way off and misleading read more

if I could give a zero I would. After months of trying to get my money back from an item they sold me that was STOLEN I'm now going to have to take them to court. Asked for the info on whom sold this to them and they refused to help in any way leading me to believe they knew it was stolen or perpetrated this sale on their own. The device was shut off remotely by the factory and after several communications with the manufacturer, including emails with the device serial number proving the item was fraudulently sold to me, Silas Dean refuses to refund or help with going after the person they bought it from. They have records of every purchase they make and refuse to look into it. I would give more info. but saving that for legal action. read more

I had never been in this pawn shop before and was in the market for a bike. The prices were a bit high on the used bikes. I ended up getting a brand new one at Walmart for the same price. However I was pleasantly surprised at how big and organized the place was. There were so many things to look at. I ended up finding a few other things just to give them my business.
