I never had…read moreheard of it before, but one of my friends said it is a self guided tour that you can take downtown of all the historical landmarks to learn more about the history and the beginnings of Tucson. Starting at 196 Court St., one can follow the Turquoise trail for a 2 1/2 mile loop through downtown Tucson that features some of the original historical landmarks of the city as well as historical monuments. It is clearly marked by a painted turquoise stripe that runs along the sidewalk. It begins at the Presidio Museum, located at the northeast corner of the original Presidio San Agustin del Tucson which dates back to 1775. Also, there are self-guided walking brochures available at the Presidio Museum - 196 N. Court Ave.; Tucson Visitors Center - 115 N. Church Ave; Hotel Congress - 311 Congress St. or the Marriott Hotel - 151 E. Broadway Blvd. Even though I grew up in the city, I would walk it again and again as I feel I could never learn enough about the history and roots of this city.

We learned so much from his factoids and trivia; the two-hour tour went by so quickly, but he did offer to stay a bit longer if anyone had any more lingering questions. Someone else said in his review, that this is a must-do--I want to thank that reviewer, though I would even go further to suggest you make this the FIRST thing you do in Tombstone! This way, you can add more color to your experience! We went to 4 different wineries and had a great lunch. The wineries were hops and vine, rune, Elgin winery/distillery, and dark sky vineyard. He let us choose where we wanted to go based on preference, time and previous experiences. We had lunch at the cafe, which had really great burgers and sandwiches. He even gave us the choice of lunch spots, bbq or sandwiches, both sounded amazing but we chose sandwiches. I would recommend this tour and look forward to booking this again and many of the other tours he offers.

My little bike group (4 of us) have ridden the El Tour de Tucson six times now and it is one of the…read morebest maintained and supported bicycle events we have been part of. They have multiple ride distances including a fun ride, 32 miles, 62 (metric century), and 100 mile century each staggered starting times. The ride is supported with separated bike lanes and multiple well stocked aid stations. Riding in AZ in November is great as it is cooler and allows you to see the nice southwest terrain. I wouldn't hesitate doing this ride. You might want to come in a day or two early and ride the Tucson loop path as a warmup ride. Hope to see you on the ride in a future year

El Tour is a fantastic ride, I will be doing it for the sixth time this year…read more Course support is fantastic! There are officers directing traffic at every intersection, and lanes are set up to keep cyclists safe from cars. Aid stations have plenty of water, lots of snacks, and fantastic volunteers! The race directors have been very responsive to feedback regarding route changes and other planning. While I understand the frustration it may cause for drivers on this one day a year, the benefit to the community is tremendous, and it's one of my favorite athletic events ever!
