5/5 As a first-time snorkeler, I was extremely nervous before the trip. However, by the time we reached the dive site, all of my anxiety was gone thanks to the amazing crew. The equipment was clean and in excellent condition, the boats were newer and very well maintained, and the entire facility was spotless. They even have great air conditioning, clean changing rooms, and outdoor showers to rinse off after your trip. They also don't fill their boats to capacity, which makes for a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. They also provided refreshments on board, including chips, water, and soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The crews--Captain Aaron and Ashlynn on our first trip and Captain Brad and Ashlynn on our second--were outstanding. They were funny, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The snorkeling itself was incredible. One of the highlights was the Christ of the Abyss snorkel, which was absolutely unforgettable. As a Christian, seeing the Christ statue underwater brought me back to where it all began. To think that Christ made everything around you and all the creatures is truly a tribute. We saw colorful tropical fish, a stingray, moray eel, and even sea turtles. Rent the GoPro--you won't regret it. We were amazed at how much wildlife we captured on video that we completely missed while we were in the water. It was such an amazing experience that we booked a second trip before leaving. I honestly have no negatives. If we're ever back in the Keys, Silent World will be our first stop. I'm already planning to bring my kids here in the future. Highly recommended!!! read more

Super fun! The Christ of the Abyss statue was amazing to see. Jeff and Micheal were great guides and pointed out some dolphins as well.

It was our first time in Key Largo, and we wanted to make the most of it scuba diving. We went with Silent World for an unguided boat dive and were so impressed! Our captain, Killian, and first mate, JoLisa, were absolutely amazing--so professional, safe, and welcoming. Everything felt relaxed and well taken care of, and we never felt rushed. Fun experience, great crew and staff, and a great amount of time on and in the water! We took off around 11:30 and pulled back into shore around 2:30 - out of this time we spent roughly 35 minutes traveling to and from and the rest was made available for exploring! Capt. Aaron and Emily did an awesome job of guiding our tour out to sea and along the way we visited two separate reef colonies, one of which included The Christ of the Abyss statue. Such a fun day!!! My husband and I did the snorkel trip (3 hours) with two stops. The ride out and back was about 15 minutes each, so we had plenty of time to snorkel, which was nice. We visited the Christ of the Abyss and another beautiful location, where we saw some big, gorgeous fish! The company provided all the gear, sunscreen, snacks, and water, which I thought was such a nice touch--most places don't go that extra step! Michael and Mike helped us out, and they were so knowledgeable and helpful. We even chatted about California's local fish, the Garibaldi (which I didn't know about, haha). They really made the experience special. Michael (I think he was the captain) also nailed it with the music on the boat--10/10 vibes. I've only done three snorkeling excursions in my lifetime, but this was far and away the best of the bunch. To begin with their land side facilities were exceptional. Clean, air-conditioned bathrooms for changing, showers for washing off the salt, shaded seating areas, free water, free pop, free snacks, and reef safe Sunblock besides. The proprietor was an absolute sweetheart who made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked up to the counter. The captain (Mike) and first mate were also very friendly and made a real effort to make our excursion fun while also keeping us safe. The boat was in top-notch condition with well-maintained and comfortable seating areas. All snorkeling equipment is provided and all of it was in great condition. We had a beautiful sunny day for our time in the water, which afforded me beautiful views of the reef and the wildlife. Obviously your mileage will vary with this but my experience was absolutely wonderful. Not sure if I'll be back, but I wouldn't ever hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. read more

Awesome experience for reef snorkeling! Everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful. We actually went to the wrong place at first but when we called they were able to get us to the right location quickly and easily. When we arrived they were ready for us - helping us with equipment and familiarizing us with what to expect on the excursion. Preston was our boat captain and he was awesome!! Really dynamic and did a great job engaging with everyone on the tour. The two spots they dropped us in to snorkel were perfect. There were other boats in the general proximity of us but we were far enough away that it felt secluded and not overly crowded....they provided snacks water and sodas in between the stops too which was a nice touch. Preston talked a lot about the waters and reef preservation and you could tell he has a lot of passion for what he does. Silent World is a Dive/Snorkeling Shop located on the Northern tip of Key Largo. Having taken many snorkeling trips in the past off Key Largo, I was expecting to see a rickety old dive shop, with an even older pontoon boat. When I pulled up to Silent World, I was greeted with a completely different experience. The dive shop was new, with excellent restroom facilities, the waiting area was a nice tiki hut with plenty of seating and outdoor games to play (Cornhole and giant Connect 4), and most importantly a new and well maintained vessel. Pricing was on par with every other dive shop in the area, but what sets this shop apart are the employees. Captain Rob and Eddie were great! We visited the Dry Rocks reef "Christ of the Abyss" and the Grechian Rocks. Captain Rob gave the history of both, knowledgeable of local sea life, and were extremely patient with less than coordinated passengers who lost gear. The Grechian Rocks were much more alive with sea life, and Capt. Rob advised he knew several other better places to snorkel than Dry Rocks that they visit. We went to two dive spots in the time most dive shops would have only done one. I highly recommend. read more

This is a well run business. Everyone is very helpful from registration to getting your mask, find, snorkel and wet suit if needed. The directions given throughout the experience are easy to follow and understand. Arron was our captain and was funny and capable. Yesterday was a beautiful day and the visibility was at least thirty feet. Afterwards photo cards were passed around so the many fish we saw could be identified by name . As a first-time hesitant snorkeler, this experience was so comfortable and amazing! I was clearly very nervous to make the jump, but the captain and crew were very comforting and accommodating. They offered me a pool noodle and gave me many tips on how to get the most out of my snorkeling experience. The boat ride felt very safe and was so beautiful. The captain and crew were super humorous and provided a lot of information about the reef and the animals inhabiting it. They also make safety their top priority, and I could certainly feel it when they explained all of the ways in which we will be protecting ourselves and each other during our excursion. My group of friends had the best time! Extremely friendly, cheerful staff and the experience can't be beat. We brought our own cooler on board which was totally unnecessary with the variety of drink options they made available on the boat. The chips were definitely a welcome treat between stops. Plenty of beautiful fish to see amongst the coral & we even saw a sea turtle! I'd highly recommend coming by for a visit. When in Key Largo, dive with Silent World! I've been diving for years and seen dive shops literally around the world. General Manager Shelby Jackman runs an impressively classy operation - efficient, professional, friendly and low key. During our stay we had two divers complete their initial open water certifications, our experienced divers got in some deep dives and we all did a lot of shallow reef diving. The certifications were professionally handled. Every once in a while a student will require a different approach or more dedicated instruction - it's the nature of the sport. Shelby was able to arrange this - and the results were excellent. Kudos to Ashlyn and especially Gabe for teaching our now fully certified divers. The rental gear was in good shape and items relating to usual wear and tear (such as the ubiquitous blown o ring) were immediately handled. There was also spare gear aboard if needed. Based on our tank pressures, the shop also seems to be generous with air. The boat (Phonenix) carries only a mid-sized party - this is no barge crammed with forty of your new dive pals, and for something more intimate you'd have to charter with one of the conceierge shops and bear the associated steep rise in price. The Captain (Bob) was an excellent judge of weather conditions while simultaneously avoiding overcrowded spots. (The shop will take your site preferences into consideration, but the Captain's judgement naturally will prevail.) Silent World will even get you on another boat, if they can't handle your request (in our case two of us wanted to get as couple of deep dives in on the Speigel Grove). Divers enjoying the reefs and shallow wrecks will have plenty of time underwater to sightsee and enjoy. Bottom time was easily 45 minutes to an hour per dive. We did a total of eight dives and each was excellent, with the Benwood being the best shallow dive imaginable. Bottom line - book with Silent World. read more

Epic Night Dive!! Did an amazing night dive with Silent World May 15, '23. What an amazing adventure. The friendliest staff, the roomiest, cleanest state of the art dive boat on the planet as well! I had such a great time, the Captain Oscar and his mate Alex were pros, so helpful entering and exiting water, very detailed pre dive, safety and post dive briefing, snacks, drinks provided. I also learned they have the newest snorkeling/scuba 50ft boat only 6months old and another is being built! This was my second time diving with Silent World and I got the exact same service each time. I even lost my light during my first dive and they quickly supplied me with a great loaner for my next dive! Super easy setup with Shelby, plenty of parking at the facility which conveniently sits right on their pier, not exaggerating when i say they also have the cleanest bathrooms as well. Wow ! What a great day in paradise with Mike and Preston leading our great snorkel trip !!! They were great , played fun music , passed around anti fog spray for the masks and helped each of us in n out of the boat . From the minute we arrived we were greeted by a friendly host who gave us our equipment and aquatinted us with their offerings ... free ocean friendly sunscreen , bathrooms , corn hole game , showers and changing stations for after we got back and shaded picnic tables .
