My husband and I booked Hillarry for a newborn photo session in January 2020. I didn't realize how far in advance these photo sessions needed to be booked, so when I emailed Hillarry only a few weeks out from my due date I was very nervous that I had missed our opportunity. But thankfully Hillarry was able to fit us into her schedule within the recommended 2 week window! The instructions that she sent were very helpful and made sure our little one was ready. The session itself was more than we could have hoped for. From the cute welcome sign, waters, couches for sleeping, tv we immediately felt right at home. You can tell that she has been doing this for a while, she was so understanding, caring, patient, great with our baby, and prepared for everything. She was so calming and I was obsessed with all her shushing and warming tricks. I had fallen in love with her monochromatic style and props, and the photos turned out more adorable than I could have hoped. We have received so many compliments. I bought a Groupon to try this out and LOVED it. She got back to all of my emails promptly and was very professional. She had a great location picked out for the shoot with a variety of different backgrounds and made suggestions (such as wardrobe) when asked but was not at all pushy. She had great ideas for backgrounds, knew when the lighting would be best, etc. I was AMAZED when I saw the pictures. I looked awesome! I also had my dogs in the pictures and she was great and patient with them, too. These pictures were amazing. Update (adding a star): Hillary did reach out to me regarding my review and apologized for how everything went, not realizing I was so upset by the issue and letting me know that was not her intent. I really do appreciate she took the time to call and apologize sincerely, it sounds like it was a mix of a bad day/bad timing, just these things happen. Underwhelmed- hate to be writing this while the issue is still up in the air, but it could have been at least somewhat resolved with the photographer picking up the phone to call and fix it. Our son's newborn photos were good, then we went to take his 6 month photos and they were bad- over exposed, washed out, awkwardly posed- not at all like the work on her website or Facebook or that I've seen her do for others. I feel like maybe she just doesn't value us as clients and didn't put much into the shoot or editing. Still waiting to figure out if there's anyway to fix this situation but I'm so upset we have now missed those moments when my son was 6 months old and we can't get them back. Also upset I've now been stewing over this problem for 3 days waiting for a resolution. As of now I would not use her again or recommend her, maybe she's just too busy to give 100% to all her clients or maybe we were just unlucky and caught an off day. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL. THERE ARE OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS. The phone number just goes to voicemail. It takes almost a month to get a return call and actually talk to a real live person. I had bought a package special from Groupon as a birthday present for my mother that they refused to honor because I had not made an appointment by the deadline, But it had not expired.... AND my mother had called and called BEFORE the deadline, but is hearing impaired and did not leave a message because she uses the tty. I had also emailed before the deadline. If there is a deadline as part of a package requirement, make sure people can meet it by ANSWERING THE PHONE! To top it off, when she did call, she didn't offer any alternative, just "sorry we can't help you" And the crazy thing is, I was actually using the photo session as an audition for finding a wedding photographer that I will be spending probably around $1500 for....I think not. A professional does not run a business by taking weeks to get back to a potential customer. A GOOD photographer and business person would have at least offered a current special or honored groupon's policy of honoring at least the cash value of the groupon. A truly great photographer is a people person, who can capture that....obviously this is a photographer who cares little about her potential subjects..... read more
