Charles & Amy were amazing. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were very engaging with us but not overly in our space. We had a conference there and we had no problems accessing the rooms or internet. The food was delicious. It's handicap accessible so someone like me with mobility issues had no issues getting upstairs to the rooms with my luggage. My bed was really comfortable. I tried to figure out how to take the mattress back down the elevator with me without being caught. Oh and they have murder mysteries there every month. I want to go back with my family. read more

I & my beloved just spent 4 evenings in the private bungalow with a private jacuzzi. It was a great experience. The room and all of the amenities were perfectly clean and extremely comfortable. Charles & Amy gave my husband and I a remarkably comfortable and relaxing weekend (we live local but it's nice to get away sometimes) in the gorgeous wren Cottage! They also hosted a Murder Mystery party for my friends and family which was epic! We chose The Murder on the Petulant Express and everyone dressed up in their 1930's costumes while Charles led us through a fun & fascinating crime scene investigation! In our group of 18 people, none of us had done a party like this before but had wanted to for a long time! We had a blast and are already planning our next themed party here! This weekend was more than worth the money, time, and effort we put in to preparing for it! This place is so adorable! We made a detour on our road trip for a concert and were lucky enough to come across this absolute gem. We stayed in the Wren cottage out back, best decision ever. It had everything we needed and free breakfast in the main house that was wonderful and home made. I got to pick the tea pot used for me at breakfast with super cute matching tea sets. We got snow the day we planned on leaving and were able to stay another night thankfully! The hot tub in their enclosed patio was a lovely break from the cold. Can't wait to come back. read more

We stayed in the Beach Cottage. I was not sure if my hubby would like a B&B vacation, but online the pic were great and it had all the amenities I wanted. So, I spent the $1000 and crosses my fingers. I was so happy with it! He loved it. The bed was so comfy! Couch had a cover on it but who cares it was comfy! TV was only a 32 inch but we weren't going to watch much. But netflix and a DVD player was easy to use. Breakfast was good, not great, but served with care for our Keto need. I have managed a B.B. before so I expected more in the way of breakfast. We just made our own in the fully stocked kitchen. Went to store and got our favorites. I would highly recommend this cottage! The main house has great features but I can't speak for those rooms. read more

Close & convenient to Kansas City, but...There were pros & cons to the stay. We wanted a nice get away for my birthday weekend since COVID has been so constraining the last year. We always stay at Bed & Breakfasts wherever we go, so we are very accustomed to the typical experiences they provide. We stayed in the Legend of Asia room. Pros: The Inn was situated in a location that made going and returning to downtown Kansas City easy. The hostess, Marybeth, was friendly and assisted us the best she was able. The bathroom was a very large size with ample shelving for toiletries. Pleased the room had two nice chairs to sit in to watch TV. Dressers and closest were substantial for our clothing. I was overjoyed to see ROKU was in the room, however we could not use it under our account, and no one was able to assist, not even after speaking with the owner, Perry. Common areas were ok. Cons: Parking was basically done based on whomever arrived first. Definitely not adequate for 6 cars to park and be able to not be door dinged. Some painted lines would help alleviate this disaster. The room was HOT. There was one table fan in the room. The only windows that opened were in the bathroom, causing us to have to place the fan on the floor in the bathroom to push air into the bedroom. This was alarming because the outlet in the bathroom was not a GFI outlet that I could tell. The bed was a queen size; however, it appears to need replaced as there is a significant low spot in the very middle of it, thus each of us rolled to the middle all night long. Electrical outlets were few and all were taken up by either lamps, clocks, TV, or fan. Nowhere to plug in our cell phones without unplugging something else in the room. Though you stress the cleanliness of your Inn, the room was not clean. There was enough dust under the bed to create a nest. The shelving and window shutters in the bathroom, and bathroom tile surround were dingy with a sticky residue from not being cleaned. The room was NOISY. We could hear everything from the street noise outside to all the guests coming and going. It was also rather unnerving to discover that there was only a partial door frame for the rear entrance into the suite. The very top is completely wide open, and you could hear everything from our suite. The suite that was across from that door also only had a partial door frame for their entrance and again, we could hear their conversations as if they were in our room. Note that I always sleep with ear plugs but the noise was still heard. Water pressure was nonexistent. The shower head was installed so low, that even I had to bend backwards to wet my hair and I am only 5" 4" tall. Trying to acquire appropriate water temperature was difficult as well, as it appears the sensitivity is very touchy; either it was cold or scalding. We requested the Lover's Package, which noted rose petals on the bed, red rose vase arrangement, hand dipped chocolate strawberries, fruit & cheese plate, wine tasing, wine glass gift set, and $20 gift certificate towards next stay. The Lover's Package was in our room upon arrival, which was fabulous; however, the rose petals were fake, there wasn't a red rose arrangement but rather a mixture of flowers in a vase. There were no hand dipped chocolate strawberries but rather Linden wrapped chocolates. The cheeses were very soft, almost melted due to the high temperature in the room. The wine tasting was at a local winery in town, rather than onsite. We did not receive a $20 gift certificate either. For the price we paid for this package, we were very disappointed. Hot tub, though we didn't use it, was a small soft sided tub in a screened in patio. The patio wasn't very clean and had lots of items strewn about, making it less than appealing to want to relax out there. While breakfast tasted decent, it was disappointing to basically have the same items served all 3 days but in different manners: omelet with spinach, tomato, and cheese then quiche with spinach, tomato, and cheese, and finally scrambled eggs with cheese. The fruit that was served each day was also the same. It was nice to see soda, coffee, tea, and cookies available; but the same scones and cookies remained in the dish the entire time we were there. I understand that you purchased a historical home and want to keep it historical, but some upgrades could be done while still maintaining the historical context. Working windows in the rooms. Upgrade to the electrical, HVAC, and water systems would be a plus. I can't believe that you pass an inspection from the Fire Marshall with so many extension cords in the room and no GFI outlet in the bathroom. I see the great reviews, but I also see how the owners respond back in an accusatory and impolite manner; making it seem as if it is on the guests to be sure that things are correct. The guest is paying for a service, one that you describe as being much different on your website than what we saw on our stay. read more

This is by far the best b&b experience I've ever had. The beautiful family that owns this amazing house has gone above and beyond to remodel and restore this historic gem. Moreover, the hospitality, Love, and customer service leaves you feeling like you are at home. The room was phenomenal. The fireplace was very cozy and the seasonal decor just made the room feel like Christmas. How can I forget the breakfast? We forgot to inform them of our dietary restrictions but it was no problem. An amazing breakfast was made to order in no time and it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this B&B will definitely be our home away from home. read more

We stayed in the Legend of Asia room and it was like something out of a fairy tale, with a beautiful canopy bed and a working fireplace - the most perfect romantic atmosphere. The family who run the place are very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely dining area, where they also kept a selection of beverages available at all times. I stayed in the Beach Cottage and the experience was amazing. The cottage is a cute little building on the property but it felt like I took a break from the world. The hosts were very welcoming and worked to make sure our stay was the best possible. The breakfasts were amazing and we bought the smores pack and enjoyed the fire pit. I was weary of having a staycation during COVID but the hosts are keeping up the safe practices and making sure everything is cleaned well between guests. Had my baby shower here and it was so lovely! Melanie made sure that the decorations match the theme of the invites! The food was incredible and you can taste that everything was made from scratch, even the icing on the cupcakes! She even got out toys for the children when they started to get restless! Made a reservation here on a whim not knowing that it was only a 3yo Bed & Breakfast. It was such a great place, we loved everything about the building, the owners, the delicious breakfast and the way it felt like home with the cats and a little dog roaming around wanting to be loved on. We stayed in the Napolian Stone room, very cozy! The robes were a luxurious touch. The bathroom was big and beautiful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious- a raspberry French toast with a cinnamon spread topped with pecans and whipped cream, coffee and orange juice. Boy, so good! We would definitely come back. Silver Heart Inn & Cottages was our first experience with a Bed & Breakfast, so i don't know how it compares to any other B&B's. We were attending an event at Arrowhead on our Anniversary and i wanted to find a place close so we were not driving 30 mins to an hour to a hotel at night. Silver Heart Inn was about the closet place that had good reviews and looked easy to get to. We rented the Beach Cottage and were beyond happy with everything and the whole process. The Cottage was adorable, the bed was comfy, everything was very clean, and perfect for our weekend getaway. There was even a little fire pit area off to the side of the cottage we could use! I saw reviews complaining of the road noise. I didn't find the noise loud or bothersome at all. The room did have one of those sound machines so if the road noise bothered you, i suppose that could help with it. Again we barely noticed it. My husband and I both enjoyed the breakfast. I did see some negative reviews on what people expected for breakfast and i really don't know what they expected. Its not an all you can eat buffet but me and my husband both had plenty to eat. Mind you my husband is 6' 2" and has hollow legs and he was satisfied! We got exactly what was described on the website and if you have any special dietary requirements or questions about what exactly is being served the owners are more then happy to help anyway they can. The whole process was easy and we are definitely going to stay at Silver Heart Inn again. I am looking forward to staying in the different rooms to see which is our favorite! I do want to say the parking may be a little tight for a larger vehicle. They don't have a large parking lot like a big hotel or anything but we never had an issue in my small truck so i never really asked if there were other areas to park. We were always able to park right in front of our Cottage every time. However, I could see it being a little more difficult in an extended bed or large SUV If it was a busy weekend. Again SUPER HAPPY! Definitely recommend! read more

This is the cutest and friendliest place I've ever stayed!! This was my first ever B&B and I'm not sure if it will ever be topped!! My cousin and I were headed to Philadelphia from Denver, CO and this was our first place we stopped for a night. We knew we needed to drive 9 hours the next day so we called to ask when the breakfast would be, since we wanted to leave early(7:30am), and the innkeeper said it was at 8:30 but she would wake up early and make just us two breakfast so we could stay there and still get an early start!! SO NICE. She was so sweet, welcoming and also recommended activities for us to do that night in the town! :) The place itself is beautiful, had an old timey mansion feel to it and was well kept as well as cozy. The breakfast was homemade and AMAZING, my cousin got the protein based breakfast which was an extravagant omelette and bacon and I got the more carb based breakfast which was extravagant pancakes and bacon!! And before that we had really good parfaits and she had baked little mini muffins that were delicious. The innkeeper(can't remember her name, we stayed there a week ago) made us feel very welcome and comfortable at this adorable inn and my cousin and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here for a night!!! read more

We visited the Silver Heart Inn for a weekend getaway. Check in was simple- correct entrance is clearly marked. We stayed in the Beach Cottage which is separate from the main house. The kitchen in the cottage was stocked with snacks to include sodas in the fridge. Roku TV and Netflix are included. Our stay was restful and relaxing. The Inn owners were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast service was adapted to meet our dietary preferences. We have discovered a new favorite getaway spot. read more
